ABOUT ME
I’m 31 years old and I’m a sheep farmer from Ayrshire in South West Scotland, which is why I have such a strong accent! I was born and raised on a sheep farm watching my dad who was the shepherd.
At 18 I went away from farming to work in the city (something I still do) and at 23 (2013) I decided I wanted to do something for some extra money so I went on a sheep shearing course. The hardest thing I’ll ever do was learning to shear sheep. [shudders thinking about it]
I shore whilst on my holidays from work for 2 years and then in 2015 my dad died so I decided to get my own sheep so I could continue working with sheep as it was something I loved doing. From there it escalated quickly from my first 4 sheep in my mum’s garden to now running around 600 breeding ewes.
I shore over 15,000 sheep this season in UK and I also travel to Norway for shearing in March and September. (Covid messed it up this year)
A few years ago I bought myself a sheep pregnancy scanner and have been building up my run since then.
I watched a few farm vlogs on CZcams and decided I could have a go and now here we are!

Funny video. .I have a CF 625 like that but camouflaged .. it already has 1000 kms without any problem. .the winch has a wheel that unlocks it and it is not necessary to press the borton to unwind it .In the case of ties they should have put the winch on a pole on the left so the slope helps them to come out easier.. Dang it!!, what a great demonstration!, some of us here in the States are not big fans of products from the P.R.C.!, but its getting pretty hard to not recognize the value!, this appears to be a truly quality product, and that"s one thing I always respect no matter where it comes from, I might have to look the other way on this one!, thanks for the Demo...
that's quite futuristic-looking, maybe you should wear a stormtrooper's costume with it! that 'beep' is for when you fall off the bike accidentally and the annoying sound attracts the attention of the sheep so they can stand at the top of the hill and shake their heads at the two crazy shepherds. boys will be boys, especially with a new toy!! Still, quite impressed with the demo.

Loved this Cammy, you having some fun. And that machine certainly showed herself well. Wow. My son and husband have a few four wheelers and they can get stuck in the muck so having its own winch very clever....and that was some fence post!!! Loved the music of Siobhan as well her voice is beautiful. I am going to listen to more of her music.

I imagine the beeping is a safety feature so you don't jump off the bike and have it roll over you. My tractor will turn the engine off if you stand up without the brake on. Takes some getting used to when you want to jump on/off it all the time, but it's for a reason. (And seeing as my yard is like Archie's slope, it makes sense).
Not ideal on an atv where you’re having to be an active rider in order to transfer your weight on rough ground..

Looks like you had plenty of fun. I was hiding behind the settee when the winch line went round the wobbly post in case it had rotted at the base and the line went flying into someone. Looks like a play bike, nowhere to put the dog.

Great video, Cammy. Really tested that quad. You can free off the winch so you can pull out the wire without winding it out. Great craic between you and Archie and what a beautiful place.

Good to watch and love the banter you guys have . Living the dream being outdoors in the elements with new toys. Love the bit at 8 30 . were just pretending girl , your no gettin any. Even winching out using a weak post in soggy ground that would end my anxiety right there.. One man in the wilds of Scotland with a six and a half grand quad. Who knew farming would be so much fun.. Would definitely cut that blinking wire.

This was a fun video! I remember those yellow flowering bushes from our trip to Scotland a few years ago. Smell so nice like coconut, but very thorny if I remember correctly! It amazes me how the dogs will ride in the back of the quad bikes.

Cammy just becareful with the winch, we were riding in the mountains last week got stuck in the snow, had to use the winch the flippin thing snapped.

There is a knob on the winch you can turn to let it free spool so you can just pull the cable out. Awesome video

In Downeast Maine we call a winch a “wench.” It does occasionally raise the eyebrows of those not familiar with the dialect. As to helmets our motto is: let those who ride decide. (except kids)
All in all looks like a pretty decent machine.
We have the cf625 2 seater and it's great been stuck a few times and pulled it out with the winch.
We are on Uist so it's taking a beating.
