      Mark Thuo Your comment is a joke, isn‘t it. Heynckes just analysed Barca‘s tactics and showed his team the right way to defeat them. The whole team was so hungry for this title after losing it twice in 3 years. Maybe Guardiola‘s Barca in there prime would have deafeted them maybe. But I don‘t think any other of these Teams could have won against them, not just only because of the spirit, Heynckes tactical knowledge but also because of players like Robben Ribery Müller Schweinsteiger and almost the whole starting 11 who were at this time in there prime. Look at the stats: double on possession more than double on passes but at the right moment Bayern handled it right. Barca wasn‘t bad at that time Bayern was just more hungry

      @@CommonSapien00 that is a very difficult question. However, I would say, Cruyff is more influential because Pep learned from him. Pep was very much influenced by Cryuff however, Pep has truly improved on Cryuff's principles. In modern football, Pep is the most influential managers among his peers. He is not only innovative but he always has an answer to what the opposition throws at his team. Look at what he has done in England. Pep has influenced on how football is played there because more teams in the epl are now building up play most of the times and are being more possession-based. Also trams are learning from his pressing system.

    Bayern would never win 2020 UCL without the influence of Pep on that team. 2020 Hansi Flick Bayern was a mixture of Heynckes High pressing,counter attacking football with Heynckes styled formation with Pep's positional sense & tactical knowledge. Flick used Müller,Lewandowski the same way as Pep. They built from the back. Without Pep & without Heynckes Bayern would never win the 2020 Triple. He did a great job espacially when you are considering that he didn't get the players he wanted (except from Thiago) and had to work with players like Götze he didn't want. I also forgive him for not winning the CL because most of the Teams who won it and the players remained pretty much the same had a dry spell for a few years. Great video and keep up the great work.

      Personally, I think he will bring the champions league to the Etihad. One of the advantages Pep has is that Man City fans (not the plastic fans) really do not care about the champions league as compared to domestic titles, so that gives Pep some breathing space. The pressure at both barca and bayern to win the CL were great and that did exhaust him quite fast.
      The thing is Pep wants to dominate domestically first before he conquers Europe. I think he wants to conquer Europe more than once with Man City and to do that the players need to have the belief and faith that they are invincible. How do you do that? By winning as many domestic titles to increase player confidence and belief. He will win the CL with City at some point. His team play the finest football both in England and in Europe, but as we know with the CL, you also need lady luck on your side.

    The #31 at centerback gave me a headache because Schweinsteiger (#31) is one of Bayern's best midfielders.
    It should've been Boateng (17) with Dante (4), Martinez (8), Benatia (5)or even Kimmich (32) who became an emergency CB throughout the 2015-16 season.

      Pep Guardiola's Barcelona should be at the very top of that list. His barca team were better than luis Enrique's Barca.
      Even Tito Vilanova's Barca were better than Jose's real madrid. They beat Mourinho's real madrid in the 2012/13 season to win the la liga with record points of 100.

      Cipher993 That’s like saying if Guardiola was missing Messi he wouldn’t have won as much or anything. No shit, idc how good a manager you are the players you have at your disposal will still effect the results, that being said, pep downgraded this team from what they originally were. During Heynckes’ tenure from 2011-2013 they were balanced, could counter, defend deep, press high, play possession etc. Under Guardiola it was possession based or it was nothing which hampered their true squad potential.

    • @thesidewaysfreak7848
      @thesidewaysfreak7848 Před 4 lety +2

      Mark Thuo No I think your brain dead, because i never said pep didn’t improve Bayern. I said he didn’t capture the true potential of the squad because of his playing style. I read Guardiolas 2nd book about his time at Bayern. I know the tactics he used and the support he gained but I also know that we were very weak in the cl. And that’s just a fact. 4-0 loss at home to real, 3-0 loss to Barca, conceded a stupid goal against athleti at home because of his high line that cost us the tie. And secondly, you can name all the circumstances you want, when Bayern were playing Barca in 2015 with half their squad out injured and Lewandowski with a broken nose and lost 3-0 didn’t anybody talk about that? No. They talked about who boat he got his ankles broken etc. But when Bayern put on an absolute master class home and away and embarrass Barca it’s pep this, Tito that. All bullshit used to distract from the fact that on that day the most underrated manager of all time shit on Barca and tiki taka with his balanced approach.

    What pep wanted to bring to Bayern was, lets say, the ideal but in practice he destroyed EVERYTHING ! Not only he made the best full backs to midfielders, but he didn't bring proper full backs to replace them. He made the best "6" (Javi), a medium level CB, and the most ridiculous one, he took the best B2B (Basti) at his prime years and wanted to make him a CDM. Bayern had the BEST sports doctor in the world but decided to fire him so the bald charlatan would bring his own med team, the result ? 3-4 muscle injuries per month ! And since Muller-Wohlfarth came back, those injuries went to 3-4 per season. As for his "defensive tactics", everyone saw them especially in the ucl where teams of the level of porto and benfica and higher were waiting patiently to strike in the counter attack.
