  • I’m going to give you some core differences between the type of love we see expressed in society, the culture and world compared to the love that is taught in the Bible. A surprising twist has to do with the endgame of how love has been distorted in the name of happiness.

"Love holds no record of wrongs"
"The books were opened and the dead were judged according to their works".
      Explain that contradiction.

    • @tims.449
      @tims.449 Před 8 měsíci

@@storba3860 That is not a contradiction it is a difference in the time periods. Today, because of Israel rejecting their Messiah, there is a different plan to redeem man. A plan since the beginning of time. By faith alone in Christ's fulfilling of Scripture, dying and resurrecting, the shed blood, we are completely forgiven all sin. But before that time was the administration of the Law of Moses and Gentiles were shut out from the plan to redeem, only Jews were in. The Jews were to then at the end of time judged by their works. Some would go into the Kingdom and receive eternal life. The plan then would be for them to bring the Gentile nations to the Messiah. So both of your statements are true. But only one is for us by the obedience of faith and faith alone. One other thing about these plans of God, there are some similarities between them but it is not that difficult to distinguish between them by the context of the scriptures. Unfortunately the most of Christiandom is misled and blind to context. The bible can be misused and become a tool of God's enemies.

An aspect of Biblical love that few people talk about, is that it is sacrificial. You have to die to yourself, to truly love. If you are self first, you can't be kind, or patient, or love your enemy. The world teaches people to be selfish, so they all want to be loved, but they don't want to give love. They are unwilling to make the sacrifice to love.

  • @bsusie1

This reminds me how many years ago when my daughter was very rebellious and I was trying to learn to love her as God would have me to. It came to me that love didn’t mean giving in to her wants, but rather giving to her needs. So grateful that our Father teaches us by His Spirit how to walk in His love.

  • @camillewilliams3185

Through reading the Bible I've realised just how perfect the love of God is. A love that's unconditional but also stands for justice and righteousness. Never wavering. Always forgiving when there's repentence. Always patient and full of grace. The way God loves is our model. Seeing how God loves shows how flawed our love and concept of love is as humans. Our love is usually selfish and conditional.

Justice for who? What crime can you commit against a God? There's literally nothing you can do to harm a God and if there is that means it's impossible to even end up damned. Unless of course your God needs to send people to Hell in which case good luck figuring out how to avoid the threat.

“Deserve forgiveness” is a phrase that keeps coming up when the world talks about dealing with sin. They’ll say their love isn’t transactional, but the fact that they phrase forgiveness as something to be deserved (like the unmerciful servant) says it all. Same with redemption. Characters in movies have to “deserve redemption” even though the point of redemption is that you’re restored after doing something you know should never allow a second chance for you.
The concepts of sin and absolution and penance are understood in secular terms…but they have no secular equivalent of grace.

Tanna, I am sorry for what you were subjected to in your childhood. My parents constantly sent me mixed messages about what Christian love was. I became deeply resentful, but later realized all that was born out of ignorance. And their own pain as children. Understanding some of the dynamics was not and is not a panacea for the years of damage. Like you, I know that God’s love for me is real love. This world is not our home, trouble will never end. How do we live out our time on earth in spite of that reality? The love of God is our confidence. May the love of God fill all your hours with the peace that passes all understanding.

First, I would like to let you know, I am the most skeptical, judgmental person, especially when it comes to preachers. And although the minute I realized that I am being so judgmental, the Lord speaks to my heart and tell me who am I say anything at all.
And yet sometimes I can’t help myself.
My point is, when I listen to you, I feel like I have not only been meant to hear it, but it is truth.
Everything you say makes complete sense . And the way you break down a scripture in the Bible brings so much more meaning to me. Thank you for your truth.
As I’m sitting here texting you. How much love is like grace, and mercy… there is grace and mercy in His love.
Please pray for me. I really do think your words are given to you by the Lord himself.

cyt.If we do not love other people, the Bible says we are not yet perfected in God. Where do we get the power to do this, to forgive like this? It comes from God and faith in his power to turn our hearts from old things to his truth.

Thanks so much for posting. I really needed this. Ive been, ever so slowly, slipping and weakening. I wasnt losing my faith, per say, but it was gradually being reshaped without me truly realizing it. Fortunately, through somewhat bizarre circumstances, the Lord has intervened. Initially, I may cringe at the taste of His medicine. But, I know it will make me well. Truth is what is what God says it is.

@Gabby-bot "Ludus" is selfishly using sex as a game. Ludus is NOT a form of LOVE.

Thank you for your video! One basic for me in life is to figure out what healthy relationships look like. The covenant we are to have with God through Christ is defined through His word. I am striving to understand this relationship as His son in a world which is evil and deceptive. "Love", as you mentioned, has been used as a weapon against what God wants for us today!
