@@karenstieglitz3443 I see what you're saying, but I disagree. I think she was intentionally asking deep, open-ended questions to encourage him to open up and talk. Being able to get deep and potentially even overshare is a great way to show vulnerability and trust.
She agreed to a second date, and then she didn't follow through with that agreement, which initially seemed cruel. HOWEVER, she has explained in the comments that she didn't want to reject him on TV and embarrass him. She also stated that the producers edited out much of their conversation to make her look bad. It's good that she is setting the record straight. The producers should not twist scenarios around for "better" ratings. I think the UK version doesn't do this as much. Hey, I’m the girl. We were on this date for three hours. I asked him about my weight because he told me he can tell a lot about a body by just looking at it. They of course cut that out though. There is a lot that goes into editing
If you have awkward silences and need to think of questions then its probably not going to work

When a couple runs out of stuff to say quickly, there will definitely be no second date. He was dull at conversation, didn't ask any intimate questions, didn't flirt with her, etc. She should have asked open-ended, more intimate questions. The fact she had to ask a friend what topics to talk about means she felt no mental connection with him. She also had to take the lead in the date. He was so passive. That kills attraction.
JFC it's a first date, not some corporate interview at morgan and stanley. I'm sure if they were out on a run or on a basketball court he would've been a lot more comfortable. He was clearly an introvert.

He may have been shy early on but the early questions were also not great to have a good conversation. Definitely agree he should've asked some questions to steer the ship towards a better situation especially since the questioning was just shooting both of them in the feet. It wasn't until the last few minutes of the video when he got a lot more comfortable, more interesting, and the conversation was going better but that's after she asked better questions. Idk how he thought going on a 2nd date would be a good idea

At least this felt like they had some potential, being equally unusual. Going into foster care at 14, some bad things must have happened to her, don't want to imagine.

I don't think going on this show is a good way to face up to issues. They've both got weaknesses, and have had difficulties. Imagine everyone you meet/date/work knowing random things about you.
Saying you hurt others and play with their emotions is not a flex! That woman sounds awful! She didn't present well here, and I'm aware she may not have intended to present in this way. I'd also suggest that she allows the man some time to process and silence doesn't need to be negative. She over spoke and filled gaps with nonsense 🙄 😅.
