Hi alan
Whoa, that's fast.
Hello Alan
Nice. I almost cried with this animation. that was awesome, congrats Alan.
A son chasing after a father that never cared and a father who chased after a son he cared for so much... Absolutely poetic, Alan. I'm crying.
That confused me a little
And at the end all the loose ends are all tied up. Purple finds a father figure who cares for him and King Orange finds a son that he can care for. Win win.

The moment he realized he tried to save purple just like he tried to with his son, he realized he made some memories with purple. Even without emotions or eyes or faces nor speech you can see how dedicated king orange is to save purple, Amazing details Alan. Real amazing, made me tear a bit.

I love how the King's origin story makes the audience initially think that his schemes are an attempt to bring his son back to life, but the scene in the Void makes it clear that it was about getting revenge on the thing that he blames for his son's death. 10/10 writing.
I thought that he was just beating the world and not that he wants to take revenge on him
I think he tried getting his son back by destroying the game but in the end realized that in doing so he was just hurting so many beings and, if his son is still in there, also his son.

My brother and I are nearly 30 and found ourselves enjoying the creativity and whimsy of the series, thinking it was just "good content targeted at a younger demographic"... but then we hit this one and we cried for nearly two hours at King's backstory... holy crap man, that was incredible! Several days later and I'm still choking up just thinking about it; I can't remember the last time a story hit me that hard... thank you for your awesome work.

And so you donated two hundred dollars.
same, at first when I was like 11, this thing keeps popping up in my recommendation, though I didn't click it because I thought this is one of those cringe Monster School-like type videos, it bothers me that it won't get rid of it in my home page so I clicked it and hey, got into the lore of this. This finale though is so well mixed of emotion, this is just masterpiece.
Dude you are amazing for writing this and donating.
Here's my favorite little details that are the reason I rewatch this every night instead of sleeping:
14:52 - Purple doesn't attack or push away King Orange, just holds the staff barely out of his reach. He's probably a little shocked at what he has done, I know I would be.
15:22 - Something I have noticed demonstrated multiple times before and after this episode is that Yellow is easily distracted and puts his guard down when surprised. He jumps/falls backwards when scared and has difficulty multitasking, seemingly only being able to put his full focus on one thing at a time.
15:54 - Just Green pulling Purple back in this moment. Thats all.
16:33 - Red leans slightly closer in this moment. He is probably partially traumatized after being possessed (I'll talk more about that later), but still wants to see whats gonna happen.
16:47 - Herobrine has a certain care for his students which is shown here as just the simple act of getting them out of there instead of attacking in that moment.
17:54 - It really just looks like Red is being pulled around like a puppet. Also, is there any reason that of all the sticks, Herobrine always goes for Red? It could have been cuz he was the closest, but there could also be a deeper reason, and if so I must know.
18:05 - Can this music get any better? This is literally a work of art.
18:41 - As an animator myself, I would just like to say HOO BOY IS THAT SMOOTH MY GOD this entire sequence of regenerating the body parts of this... stick tron thing, it just blows my little animator brain away.
18:56 - Purple swooping in to catch Red here shows that he really is just on their side now and just wants to make sure everyones ok.
19:22 - Being possessed, despite obviously wearing on his body, is probably not why Red was knocked out. I mean, did you see how King Orange just beat up Red? Also Purple is just there making sure that Reds ok.
19:24 - Im pretty sure Purple has mostly just caught people this scene. Also, the way that Orange looks at Purple like he's honestly surprised Purple saved him is very interesting and shows how its a bit harder for Orange to trust people, especially with previous evidence stating otherwise.
20:08 - Red regains consciousness and only takes a second to be helped up (by Orange and Purple, although Yellow reaches over to try and help.) before he is on his feet ready to fight again. He looks at everyone else like: "well what are you waiting for come on guys!" Red is a fighter. He perseveres.
20:24 - Red may be on his feet but despite usually being one of the fastest runners of the group, he visibly lags behind here, he's definitely worn out after that possession.
20:48 - Yellow notices how glitched Orange is, as he was hit the hardest with that blast. I like how when he's worried for someone, Yellow reaches out a hand as if he is unsure what to do but wants to help.
20:53 - Red is just not gonna give up. He can get knocked down over and over again but as soon as he's able to move, he's gonna put his all into fighting agin.
21:32 - King Orange does what I can only assume is the fastest double take in human history, as he glances back at where Purple just was. Also, he stops for just a second when pushing away Yellow. Maybe cuz he looks like King Oranges son?
21:40 - Green and Purple, despite just being glitched away, are quick to get back up into a more fighting-like position. They are the only ones that do this. Green, however, fails and is only able to fall forward.
21:44 - After taking a quick look at Red, Purple does the most Red thing I have seen. He gets back up, just like Red did, and walks right back into the danger. I wonder if he admires this about Red, and is trying to be more brave himself.
21:52 - CLARINET AND VIOLIN HAVE A CONVERSATION!!! THIS IS LITERALLY THE INSTRUMENTS THEY HAVE AS THEIR NOTE BLOCK VOICES TALKING AND RESPONDING. Green looks at Purple with a very weak clarinet, as if to say, "No, please don't do this. You're just gonna die." While Purple responds with a confident violin, saying, "Im gonna die anyway. Might as well die fighting."
22:01 - This is the melody that Purple used in his song about his dad. It plays as he walks up to King Orange.
22:50 - I had been wondering for a while whether this world was 2D or 3D to them, this confirmed my theory.
23:16 - I think in this moment we see King Orange put more effort into any of the fighting he was doing previously. Even when he was fighting for his life, he never seemed as hell bent on anything as he was on saving Gold. Now, he's working just as hard to save Purple.
23:51 - While everyone seems like they want to do something to stop this, Orange actually is still acting like it's possible. He runs up while everyone else has this air or "Its hopeless" around them, and until he gets his last ditch effort idea, everyone else is only half trying.
24:02 - Orange, ever the protective oldest bro, is putting his arm in front of the others to make sure the disintegrating light doesn't hurt them.
24:10 - Blue was gonna try next, but Orange GRABBED IT OUT OF THE POOR WEED ADDICTED CHILDS HANDS. How could he?
24:53 - They caught him.
24:56 - RAINBOW ORDER :D
25:12 - Blue is too pure for this world he's trying to save all the piglings that are getting pulled in, and every time Yellow has to remind him that he probably shouldn't die.
25:23 - Blue did the thing again.
25:41 - Yellow is trying to pull Orange back and save him. Im not sure exactly why, but Yellow has seemed very conscious of Oranges safety in this episode.
27:25 - He finally broke the glass.
27:47 - King Orange literally died to give Purple a well deserved hug. He just needed a hug. I hope King Orange adopts Purple.
28:37 - Camera angle of the century.
28:54 - At even the slightest idea that maybe Purple is on King Oranges side and they are both evil again, Orange runs in front of his brothers to protect them.
29:25 - Yellow and Blue use their collective twin power to shame King Orange for all his wrongdoing. (Also, it really seems like Purple, Green, and Red have become a bit closer and are maybe friends now?)
30:02 - Not only do they all hug Purple, just like Green sung about, but his instrument Is played in the background, as is Purples.
31:31 - Ruben, (the pigs name,) is still wearing the crown.

Ahhh I think Red is stepping forward because he is offering himself for Herobrine to possess him. ;-;
Funny thing is King is taller than the rest of the crew since he's an adult. IN theory, the crew (Red, blue, green, yellow, and TSC) are just kids or teens, purple included. So in hindsight King was hurting childern.

Man, that scene where King Orange hugs Purple makes me cry. Every. Single. Time. There's just so much symbolism from the violin playing, to the fact that King Orange finally broke through the glass, and to break through the glass he had to break through the angry rage-and-revenge-fueled version of himself, and it was Purple on the other side of it instead of his son, and King's glass shards look like Purple's flower petals... I could go on. It's just so good.
Oh yeah, and the fact that the melody from Purple's song in the previous episode plays when he's running towards King- just emphasizing how it mirrors the desperate struggle Purple's made to get to that father figure all his life- it makes my little musician brain explode with happiness. When I first watched that part, I recognized the melody instantly, and I pretty nearly screamed from excitement.
18:02 the obsidian stick man just gave me a type of nostalgia I have never felt
All of this started with a single stick figure which was but a victim in Alan's eyes. To take such a simple idea and do something so grand with it is truly remarkable. It is a testament to your creativity and dedication that today, millions of people are witnessing this masterpiece unfold on their screens. Thank you to you and your team for giving us an epic tale to experience.
isnt yellow a prince? because hes the son of orange king (right?) so he would be a crown prince if the orange king is an actual king
edit: after scrolling through the replies i think what happened is that the orange king is the yellow son who got stuck in the minecraft and the orange king is the son of the other orange person we see and he became a king in the minecraft realm and the yellow that we see with all the other stickfigures just originated from that stickfigure fighting house that alan made

I really loved that in the wall drawing sequence, it shows him blinded by pure rage and takes his frustration out on the game. This episode made me cry.. one of my favorites, it's just too beautiful, all their dynamics, relationships.... this was more than just perfect.

The fact that the king was pretty much unstoppable at that point but switched sides at his own will (literally because of a change of heart) .That's honestly quite rare to see coming from a villain. And the fact that he's not just some kind of a dumb villain who gets wrecked after loses, he's very strong and intelligent. Literally everyone thought they had him down that one point but he's able to 1v11 with little power to get back the staff. Well written antagonist.
Been here since the animator vs animation, it's just getting better
He reminds me of Thanos
And that's not all. He's able to portray all of that personality without the involvement of speech in a character and that's saying something. Truly a well written antagonist indeed
Yea. In universe he seems to actually be kind of a genius considering all the stuff he did to make the staff and all, so he essentially worked up to being so undefeatable, which is even more impressive
Just saying, King Orange probably could take on the chosen one n dark lord and win if he does some research on them beforehand

19:35
King:you take my son... I'll take your world!
10:09 OH MY GOSH. I JUST REALIZED THE ROCKET LOGO FROM AVA IS ON THE TV.
this could mean so many things like:
Rocket is a popular tech company thatâs secretly evil
King orange and purple live where the most recent AVAs take place and could be in it as a plot twist, help out or even bring Minecraft friends with them.
And so much moreâŠ
If yâall have theories reply to this because a theory could be right
It isn't so much a _theory_ as it is fact. The stick-figure world where Orange and Purple came from is that same world that was, presumably, revolutionized by the Rocket corporation, whatever their real name is, making both series undeniably linked.
Of course there's numerous questions left unanswered about that world in the first place; like where is it physically? The sky is made up of each unique IP Address for all computers on the Internet, so is that world supposed to be the literal representation of the endless linked network servers? What's the Rocket corp's real motive behind their control over that world, and especially what's Victim's goal in it? Better yet, in one of those AvA VI episodes, when Red, Blue, Green, and Yellow try to ask the resident figures about the Corporation, they try to resist the question entirely and refuse to answer it... just what is their real involvement besides what we've seen?
But that's all beside the point; the real question is, since the Minecraft world exists seperate to it, but it's objects still persist even in the stick-world and function as expected, and as you've said, will that fact ever become involved in the AvA's story, even if Minecraft isn't necessarily the focus?
Well to answer that, I'd somehow doubt that Purple would remain uninvolved in this forever, since they're basically the honorary 6th member of the crew along with the original 4 and TSC, and if Purple were to be captured when trying to investigate their sudden disappearance... well, I'd reason that Orange wouldn't be happy about it. I couldn't imagine the kind of carnage that the Staff equipped with a command block could cause if used to it's fullest extent; just one '/fill ~-20 ~-20 ~20 ~20 ~20 ~20 minecraft:air replace' command could easly remove entire buildings, and have you ever tried to do a '/summon fireball ~ ~ ~ {ExplosionPower:999}'?
So.
This was an insane finale, referencing literally every episode that predates it. The final rush to get the block back to the desktop felt symbolic of them finally ending the story, much like how they did before, with everything they found and saw crumbling around them. The other thing I would like to note is how Alan managed to tie King Orange and Purpleâs stories together, making them so similar to what the other lost.
There is so many other moments and details that make this animation the peak of perfection. The animation is beautiful, the storytelling is creative, and it is easy to tell what is going on, all wrapped into one thirty minute episode. Insane job Alan, and the rest of the team.

I havenât been as impressed and aroused emotions in a long time as this animation. Honestly Alan, if I ever become a director or something, I am gonna kidnap you for my movies.
Im not crying you're crying-
But on a serious note, this whole series was an actual work of art. Actions speak louder than words, as they say, and the way Alan Becker described this entire story in such a moving way while using only movement is both inspirational and beautiful. The entire relationship between King and purple had me on the verge of tears so many times. The fact that they both lost the people most important to them, making them bitter to everyone until they found eachother and saw those people in eachother is so well written and expressed. (Unlike this sentance, haha) I've loved this series from the very very first episode, and I am more than pleased, impressed, shocked, and moved by how far it's come and how it ended.
(On a side note, the true motive behind both King and Purples actions was a huge plot twist and view changer. At first I thought the only thing they were after was power, before we saw Kings backstory. By the end battle I didn't know who I was rooting for, until the Void scene occured. I thought he was trying to get his son back when in reality he was just talking out his anger on everything in his path, including the cause itself. Really poetic and again, absolutely stunning how this entire series has developed to this point!)

One thing I appreciate after watching again at 15:20 (the part where King Orange nicks the blue staff from Yellow and uses it to gain the advantage) is that this was after it was shown to us that King Orange spent a long time developing and perfecting the staff after a lot of prototypes, so it makes sense that his skills wielding the staff would far outclass everyone else who was using it.
It's probably unintentionally but I like how it gives context to why he is able to use the staff as skillfully as he can; making more sense how a single staff like such can turn the tide of battle when everything seemed lost. Which in turn avoids being contrived.

27:02 I really liked what they did here. King was justifiably angry with the game for taking his son away from him, but blinded by his rage and frustration he ignored all the beautiful things the game offered, eventually he took his anger out on the innocent, the Gang. Only using his son as an excuse to destroy everything, just like how he used Purple, just a means to an end.

Son finds new dad, dad finds new son. This is my favorite ever serial on CZcams, Alan Becker, you did a beautiful job.
That ending was ABSOLUTE CINEMA!
I love how well purple got into the "little yellow" character.
Who could have guessed that a video made just for content, would create such a series with a meaning behind it all.
It was nostalgic to me, Herobrine possessing red, the obsidian stickman, the very first episode being mentioned as a TV program, it was absolutely marvelous.
Thank you for the entertainment Alan.
As soon as King Orange's son got deleted, I could see where this was going-- but was still on the edge of my seat the whole time. I like how both King Orange and Purple had to accept a resolution to their problem beyond the one they thought they wanted. Real life is like that. That's how character growth happens. Hats off to Alan and his team!

@@axquatil87 Honestly, it could be either. We don't have enough information to make any real conclusions now BUT...I will say Purple needed a father figure in his life that he could look up to and the Orange King needed someone who could bring out his adventurous/innocence again.

I donât often cry when watching anything, movies, shows, whatever. But this is something else. To think I cried over a battle of stick figures, who, throughout their entire existence, have never spoken a single real word. This series is an absolute masterpiece, it takes âshow donât tellâ to an entirely new level. Not only is the animation absolutely incredible, but the story is so poetic yet so simple. This is genuinely one of the best things I think Iâve ever seen on the internet. I remember watching Alan Beckerâs animations for years, but this is genuinely something else.
Thank you, Alan, and everyone else involved, youâve created an absolute masterpiece. The only disappointing thing is that more people donât know about this.

This was amazing! Good job Alan! (Also you made me cry.)

17:56 for anyone who doesnât know this is a throwback to the first original animation vs Minecraft! Like the original one 7 years ago by Alan Becker. It was about where TSC first discovered the icon and Herobrine possessed red and made him steal their icon and almost kill everybody. At the end everybody manages to swordpoint Red and finally suck the spirit out of him. But at one point he took the form of a bigger stick figure to beat everybody up, so itâs a throwback to then.
That was the first Alan Becker video I ever watched, so seeing a reference to it was awesome
i still remembered the reference
@@ronplayzroblox6355yeah Alan really knows how to connect to his fan base. I remember watching all the reaction videos to the original 1-3 ava with TCO and TDL. Yea also the technoblade reference somewhere around 30:00
I was so worried we were not going to talk about this callback.
The callback to the first AvM with Herobrine possessing Red again to fight the King is genuinely the hardest thing I've seen all year
10:57 the gg with some sort of magic could be a reference or Easter egg to something but idk
This entire series has no dialogue. No facial expressions or detailed differences to show which characters are which, except colors and shapes. This is a beautiful story that is perfect in every way. No complaints at all. Thank you so much for all the hard work on this series Alan and the team. This is truly gorgeous

The story tells itself. This is why I think this is a cinematic masterpiece. A son without a father and father without a son. 27:51 broke me and I cannot get over it. This is a friendship Iâve never seen and this deserves an Oscar. And I think the absolute best part is how they donât even talk like you said. TRUE
Well, the subtitles did the trick but okay
This series helped me grow up. This is almost a movie on its own! When I was a kid, I thought that this was just a random animation someone made - and now to think that's its grown like this. I still vaguely remember the first one of the series - where Herobrine posesses the Red figure. And now the plot is so thick that people are making their own remakes of this! I also think the King losing his own child was painful to watch. No parent should have to go through that. But altogether, this is a full childhood animation and the idea so good it might become timeless.
wow, in my whole life i never though watching an animation would give me lucid eyes. It's just like a film and whenever i re-watch it, i have always tears in my eyes.
Itâs crazy how these were originally small shorts and now they are small cinematic masterpieces longer than his older full length animations. Everytime you watch it you feel such emotion itâs just beautiful.

The death scene of Orange's son was one of the saddest things I've ever seen... how both of them tried so hard, so desperately to reach each other in their final moments together, only to be permanently separated by an unbreakable barrier, then pulled apart for all eternity. Everything in the scene is laid out incredibly well. I especially like the imagery of the short glass hallway, and actually seeing what happened to Gold as the simulation crashed with them inside it only makes it even more stunningly clear just what Orange must have felt afterward. Absolutely amazing.
I don't know why to me he seems more like a brother than a father

Two more things: 1) Love how Alan circled back around to this story's beginnings with Herobrine taking over Red again and seeing all the characters make a cameo from this past season. 2) Love the attention to detail at 27:57! It shows us the whole ordeal took 2 days since they left on 6/12/2021 in ep.25 but then came back on 6/14/2021
Fun fact: ep.20, the "beginning of this season", starts exactly like this one ends
@@Bernise Yeah you're right, and Blue finally got the nether wart
Techno was in there too. 30:00
And Herobrine's/Red's obsidian stickman
17:36
I just *ADORE* how Herobrine comes in with this sense of power. This overwhelming force, that only seems to be a legend to some, has arrived to patch things up. Yet... The moment he sees that The King can absorb his Player Minions, he hesitates. He's seen backing up a bit. What was originally this symbol of power and fear turned heroic god, suddenly becomes noticeably afraid, a new feeling that's washes over him like a tidal wave. What once was an easy fight just turned for the worst, and you can see him just back up slightly. He'll fight, but not with the same confidence he just had. This is why I love Alan's animations so much, the details that you barely notice, yet improve the animation tenfold. Subtle references to previous entries to the series. Everything about these animations screams life into seemingly average and basic things such as Minecraft and Stickman animations.
Couldnât have said it better
A way to say it simply: Alan is the best animator I have known to this day. đ

The season was structured like a Regular Show episode.
Blue needs to fill his addiction, goes to nearest fortress to get his fix. Tomfoolery ensues. Few episode later, entire cast is fighting to prevent the destruction of the world. Beautiful.

I genuinely don't think there's another word to describe this series other than perfection. While yes, it does occasionally have its flaws (a couple weird animation errors in s1, and the continuity issue of Purple having an elytra prior to getting them in "The End"), I genuinely can't find anything *wrong* with this series.
It tells its story with such sweet finesse and mastery that it honestly baffles me how multi-*billion* dollar companies constantly push out things that are of infinitely lesser quality than a standalone animation series on CZcams about colored stick figures. It's so impressive to see that throughout the years, these characters are given such fleshed-out personalities, genuine emotional stuff, and tangible character arcs.
Not even to mention how this is less of a "Oh, they just happen to live in the Minecraft world" series, and more of a homage to all of Minecraft. I mean, come on, there's an *entire episode* dedicated to Monster School. Not a commentary on the grotesque state of that genre of videos, but a loving homage to when that concept was good and revered by people. And I can't avoid mentioning the excellent tribute to Technoblade during the ending.
Going forward, I pray this series continues. Not just AvM, but AvA as a whole. It's such an excellent series that absolutely deserves the attention it's been receiving in recent years, and it fills me with pure joy to see how far it's come. Alan and your team, absolute props to you all for weaving such an emotional, well-told, visually breathtaking story over the years. Here's to the future to come.
Id not say that Purple having the elytra is an error, it just means that the events of the backstory segment happen after that episode
I agree with the robot. Cause it also sort of explains why he was more eager to take the job, cause he already knows them.
I think Purple met King Orange after the League of Legends episode. He probably had the elytra in wherever he lived.
brb orange could of spawned the elytra buy his command block staff
I agree with you on everything, but there is one thing i want to add. The fact that it tells this story with "such sweet finesse" as you said. I just want to say that, all of this happened without a single word spoken in the entire series between the characters. If this is the case in a series, then it is truly a perfect series. (In my opinion)
Damn....I did not expect myself to shed a tear from this finale. You really know what audience to hit Alan. I'm so happy, I grew a part of this story.
