    I found a copy of Waterworld in a bin full of 2600 games about 10 years ago for a buck. Still can't believe that.

  • @forcedfeedbackclassicgamer5499

    I have Sword Quest: Water World complete in box, near mint condition.

    Very cool! Thanks for sharing. My 2600 titles are mostly common since I only collect titles I had in childhood. I do have Battlesphere Gold CIB for Jaguar which is probably my rarest/most valuable game for any Atari system.

    Oh wow! Fun video!
    I don't have much in the rarity department. Like you, I do have Swordquest: Waterworld (cart only) although it does not look as good as yours.
    I also have three copies of Gremlins: 1 cart only, 1 cart plus manual, and 1 cart plus manual plus box (although the box had been broken down and folded flat at one point in time). All are the 1986 release, so b/w manual (not color), and all Atari branding says "Atari Corp.," instead of "Atari Inc." and the "Warner Communications" logo's have been removed (relating to Atari, but "Warner Bros." is still present in reference to the Gremlins IP). AtariAge's rarity guide does not seem to differentiate between 1984 releases and 1986 releases... I suspect those details only matter when you get into the "graded" market.
    After that, we are getting not so rare, but Stargate with box and manual is also in my collection.
    Pretty sure everything else I have for 2600 is common.

    NSG, you have a great collection. My most valuable Atari 2600 game is the MUSIC MACHINE cartridge in minty condition with the manual, my son bought me a boxed Atari 7800 at a savers and it was inside the box. I believe it's worth about $1000.

    Nice video. My top three are Bumper Bash, Boing! and Smurfs Save The Day. I have the three Sound Story cassettes, manual and a Kid Vid controller to go along with Smurfs Save The Day.

    Good video! I remember getting Springer years ago, I had a box for it too! I do have the Smufs Save the Day cartridge too! But, I don't have the cassettes either! I never knew that there was a joystick tray with the Spy Hunter game for the Atari 2600! Cool!

    Neat video, but I would like to see at least a screenshot of the games so I don't have to Google on the side myself.

      AtariAge rarity list is a great place to look up the games since they're all in one place. I already know what these games look like in my mind since I've been collecting so long though.

  • @sinistermoon

    Nice, dude. You have some games that I don't. I have Waterworld and Spyhunter. I also have over 700 Atari 2600 games so I'm sure I have some you don't. Quadrun and Qbert's Qubes are a couple of my rarest that I enjoy playing.

  • @audrisampson

    Sadly I had to sell some stuff to get a replacement car so I had to give up Tooth Protectors, Out of Control, both NTSC Puzzy releases and my Dukes of Hazard Best products prototype. So that about nuked my rarity collection. I do have the cassesttes though for Smurfs Save the day still :) Never tried using them or playing the cassettes though.
    Out of all that list tooth protectors is probably the funnest to play. I was really really surprised when I tried that out how much I liked it.

    I knew you had Spy Hunter with the dual control module, but I did not know you had the box also. I have been waiting for you to review that one.

    I never mail ordered any games but I got my hands on Waterworld anyway. It was during the crash, when you could get games for as low as $1 or an average of about $4. A single copy of Waterworld appeared in the dump bin with the rest of the massively discounted games. It was an "exorbitant" $13 but I picked it up anyway. I still possess some or all of the inserts but I believe I lost the box at some point. Anyway, point being that it's somewhat well known that even though Waterworld was originally mail-order only, at least some copies made their way to stores during the thick of the crash. It's definitely the rarest and most valuable game I own.

    Wow! Great collection of rare stuff. I bet that Spy Hunter would go for a lot more then even $500 on this market my friend. Thanks for sharing. Now, please email me your address and the times that you and your wife are at work and any alarm codes!! 😁 in all seriousness, thanks for show those. Have you done videos for each of those? I think I have seen. Couple but definitely not all of them.

    My favorite rare game on atari is custards revenge. I had that and 2 of the other mystique games with the "black leather" cases which supposedely are more rare, ive only seen mine and maybe one other that came in the black leather cases usually they are colored. But alas i sold them years ago.

    Great video! I would be curious to know if you picked up most of those way back in the day, or gradually collected them over time as you found good deals on them. None of my little handful of Atari 2600 titles is probably above the $15 mark, but I enjoy them. You want to talk Sega Saturn or Playstation Vita, though, and I can start bragging a lil'...

    I don't think I own any rare game, maybe some uncommon ones, at least in PAL version, since I am in Europe. I guess the two I paid the most for are BMX Airmaster and Solar Storm (both of which are CIB)

    what was the purpose of that tray for spy hunter?

    • @baronhausenpheffer
      @baronhausenpheffer Před 2 lety

      Here's the setup, if I understand correctly... Spy Hunter had players use both the Player 1 controller and Player 2 controller simultaneously to play it. (Think of it as an early "twin stick" or "dualshock" kind of thing.) That tray went over the joysticks to keep them in place and gave the home player the feeling of using a single controller with two joysticks instead of two loose controllers.

    • @jeremiahthomas8140
      @jeremiahthomas8140 Před 2 lety

      The second controller was only used for the button so the tray placed the button on the second controller next to the button on the first controller so it could be pushed easily.

    OTHER REAL TITLE VALUE OF ATARI 2600 ARE : Halloween!!, UPS!!, JUST DON'T HAVE THIS TITLES RIGHT???? HAHAHAHA
    THE PRICE ONLY FOR THE CARTDRIGE IS $800 TO $1,000 DLLS.... BUT IF YOU HAVE THE GAME NEW, OR COMPLETE WITH BOX AND MANUAL ETC??? PUFF!! THE PRICE WILL BE A CRAZY. UP TO NOW ONLY THE PURE HALLOWEEN CARTRIDGE IS KNOWN, NEVER SEEN ONE COMPLETE WITH BOX, MANUAL AND CARTRIDGE, LESS THAN A COMPLETELY NEW UNOPENED. THIS IS A REALLY WEIRD AND WEIRD GAME.
