I'm an Indonesian and frequently following many events of beauty queen across countries especially MU... here I don't really understand why people bashing the winner of MU Philippines 2020 since from what I'd seen in the competition, Rabiya's answers were solid, right to the point, compassionate, and strong... 1st runner up had a good answer yet not strong enough as Rabiya's... that's why she is the winner... If you guys watching MU or at least the last MU (2019), Zozi's answer is the strongest among all final contestants... eventho some people said that the runner ups also delivered good answers... this may be the characteristics of MU competition and Rabiya is valued as having the characteristics as well... why it should be rigged when Philippines is one of the strongest countries in MU history? it will just lead to a disaster if the candidate is riggedly chosen and not qualified.. it will humiliate the country and all philipinos.. that's an extremely bad gambling... people need to think at least twice before spamming... I hope that this controversy not because of her originality or related to any racism... please open up and grow up society!

I am apologizing that you have to witness one of the toxic attitudes of the Filipinos. It has always been like that, ppl here love to poke at the weakness or any negative of the winner. I can understand that people may have their different bets but people should also atleast respect the winner especially during this time of pandemic. As a Filipino, I am really sorry you have to see that, and I hope that it won't change your perspectives towards Filipinos 'cause not all of us are like that😊
It might be related to manileno's entitlement and discrimination of people from the South, it's like a glass ceiling effect, like they will support you but how dare you rise higher than them. But I guess this is common in every country, the people from the capital will always feel superior from the provinces.
MU rabiya came from a poor family, maybe she don't have everything she needs, that's why the staffs give more attention to her than the others, anyway, rich people don't understand how it feels like nothing,.. @@georgiebennett3336 You can't really compare Gloria Diaz because MU was extremely different during her time. These days, an MU candidate needs some experience to even have a chance to win, otherwise they'll be outshined by others. The ideal age range is around 22-26.
To a well-dispositioned queen...determined and intellectually/academically-inclined...with her genuine advocacy to promote education among children and youth of today...Rabiya, despite bashings and allegations, can still swipe it out to victory, like Catriona did.
Rabiya's way of talking exudes a true conviction of an authentic phenomenal woman of today's era of pageantry.
To be honest, Catriona raise the bar really high-be it nationally or internationally. Until now, personally, I still think that she’s the strongest MU and that if she were to join this recent batch of candidates and even the next ones, nobody would beat her.

İf we are talking about equality during the pageant and Rabiya got some help, i suppose that is the essence of equality. Mayaman si Lemonon Gumabao and majority of the girl so they have the means. Say İmagine na walang make up si Rabiya at pinahiram ni Jonas Gafud or Shamcey, then that is equality since she can equally compete with the ladies who has their own make up. Regardless kung sino ang tumulong. And to Lemonon and Gumabao, maybe that is favoritism because they dont get the same attention from the organizers. İ suppose we will never understand the perspective of each ladies.

Eh, why are people not supporting this girl. She was the prettiest one in the competition, from the beginning you could tell she would win because she has a face that is appealing universally. At the end of the day, it's a beauty contest. The prettiest girls will win. Intelligence, or at least the ability to communicate enough thoughts is a plus. Charisma is another plus but ultimately, whoever has the face with the ideal miss universe body type will have the biggest chance of winning. And Rabiya had the face - big teeth and smile, small face, lots of hair, great bone structure and exotic looking - she looks mixed but ambiguously so.

Probably the treatment of other staff to some contestants , maybe unintentionally Rabiya got more attention from staff than others. There's a rumor she has her own Glam team.

This is an assumption. Maybe the org provided some stuff to Rabiya since she doesnt have enough (make-up, tools, etc.) and "maybe" some girls took this the wrong way and thought that the org is favoring Rabiya.

Rabiya Mateo was predestined to be MUP 2020. She's a total package (truly blessed & gifted with beauty and brain). There will be always envy, jealousy, boastful, bashers and haters - but then if you have one of this characteristic negativity then for sure these were the reasons you will failed and lose.
I noticed that Catriona also used to say Ahhmmm too.. for a long time i thought she doesn't have that expression.. what a surprise but still on a positive observation..

That's why Authenticity and Attitude is really important in any pageant. Always be nice to the Staffs and producers because they are the one who can help you. All you need is to treat all the people around you in a nice way but always remember "You cannot pleased everybody to be liked you."
