please do more content on vinyl mixing.. vinyl mixing is still a thing and going from a laptop/controller based setup to a vinyl only setup ive had a lot more fun and enjoyment out of it... plus vinyl DJing will force you to learn the real core skills needed to DJ and will improve your skills for any other setup.
the internet is lacking severely good instructional content on vinyl mixing and managing collections and selections. please do more content. 🙂
mix pulito e senza fronzoli.... eccellente!
Vinyl will never die,..Best thing for a true DJ...I am saving up for Vinyl decks next years.
Ahhh, those vinyl days! Great set! So much fun to listen to and watch! Well done!
WOW! First track's bassline is pure gold.
fantastic mix and show off. just bought myself a DJM450. what a technical masterpiece.
I learnt to mix on technics SL1200.
Can't beat vinyl mixing.
I use to be a mobile dj. I had the van sign written saying....
TECHNICS SL1200 THE POWER TO MIX.
looked awesome.
Love the mix guys.
Nice selection of quality old skool tunes. They were some great days..
Got this exact setup. Spinning vinyl is the best
Con tre technics lo spettacolo è ancora più bello
"We're gonna to go BACK! waaay back."
This brings me back to when I first started over 20 years ago... So much fun spinning on vinyl. Need to go record shopping and get a small collection back again so I can do mixes like this. Dope Mix!
Great channel mate, maybe new Technics sl1210 MK7 vinyl mix ? I would luv to see how they compare to old Technics sl1210 MK2 or mk5 club standard for mixing djs ( analog pitch )
I think these pioneers plx1000 are great for scratch djs but for mixing vinyl forget it 😁 Technics all day man
Stupid question here but I presume he doesn't need an external software for the fx to be used here with the vinyl? I presume that's an internal feature of the mixer.
@ cianoflynn7371 yes this mixer has fx built in 😊
@@cianoflynn7371yes, the effects are built into the Pioneer Djm 450.
Right I’m hooked these pioneers can Definitely hold mix that’s for sure
Anyway vinyl mixing is powerful. It's like a shooting on film. Feels really amazing and process so tactile, when u can touch the music
Nice metaphor
2:35 nice technics with the effects and clean mix, thank you very much for sharing
Great to see vinyl mixing is very much alive
True skills their matee no computer doing the hard bit👍
Anyone that cannot mix vinyl without the electronic gizmo's has no right to call themselves a DJ they are nothing more than button pressors.
Andrew Lusty
Yes I agree
Keep up the great work 👍
@Andrew Lusty
100% agree
That last tune is sick!!!🔥🔥
Finally! A video of this mixer with Vinyl. Great Mix
You know you’ve mastered mixing if you can do it with vinyl
this was so fun to watch, more vinyl please!!
A virada do Junior Jack - E- Samba foi massa!
6:32 i love it
Cool collection. Thanks for sharing.
Fascinating. Only time l knew which was playing was when the record was taken off
Junior Jack still goes in! I still have the Thrill me vinyl, with teeth and braces on the cover!
Yeah but he got the Phrasing wrong. Was out by a bar.
Awesome. So much groove. Vinyl wins all 🤙🤙🤙
Tho I'm mixing with CDJ's, I would love to switch to vinyl. It's more fun not to have all the stuff that helps you. Sync, BPM display, and so on. I have always use my ears to beatmatch. Even when I'm mixing at home I cover the BPM's cause it's more fun doing it by ear than pressing "SYNC". Beatmatching is something you MUST know as a DJ. Imagine when you play at a club and the sync button doesn't work, what are you gonna do then? That's why it's important to beatmatch by ear.
ditto that man. I used to mix on 1210's, but sold them many years ago. only recently i bought a controller to mix on, and i have never gone anywhere near the auto sync features and also always covered up BPM counters. If i used any of those auto features i would feel like i'm cheating
Track coming it at 5:50 is Junior Jack - E-Samba
Classic.
Classic.
Always appreciated!
Yessir!!! #LifeGoals Must get vinyl one day. #Dope set!
Make a tutorial on turntables. Like basic fundamentals, how it works? Thanks.
Mostly everything is physical. The sound wave is literally engraved on the record. You match the beats manually by listening to the cue. Without bpm counters or beatgrids etc. The concept is simple but difficult in practice.
You rely mostly on your ear which you should do regardless of setup imo
Check out my vinyl mixing on my channel ( Technics )
seriously you might learn something no joke there
Hmm sound advise would be , get a set of old Technics :)
All music house etc 4/4 time 16 bars 32 beats phrase points ( release your cue ) holding the records that's the basics of DJ :)
I would buy few records ( two of the same , tempo etc )
Play them at same pitch ( 0 position ) they should start to phase
now you train your ear to those shifts either side of the phase points , pitch up or down in the middle is the kick drum , if you pitch record A up +2 st , if the record original tempo is 125 , it shifts to 127
now it's out of phase and time , all you do is pitch record B untill you get that phase point then find the kick drum , so plus 2 on pitch (127 ) match
You keep doing this for month untill you tune your ears with various tempos ( records )
remember the phase point is guidance point with 2 records same
You won't hear 1 if both records are different but by then you should understand pitch and mixing by ear good luck
I'm expeirenced vinyl DJ from rave , dnb happy hardcore , garage , house etc
@@mrreleasedj If you pitch shift a 125 record +2% it goes to 127,5 instead of 127, it's not so obvious. A even more obvious case would be doing a +4% to a 140 record, it goes to 145,6 instead of 144.
I would recommend any video from this guy: czcams.com/video/I86wv3WcDgg/video.html
Sick mate
The best
True!
Nice mix mate with the house selection on wax 👍
I think you played it simple there tho , didn't pitch up bit
I don't blame you on those turntables man ( Pioneer plx 1000)
Digital pitch and the minute you move the platter ( forget it don't do that 😄)
Always mix real vinyl on Technics SL 1210 , 1200 mk2 or Mk5 ( analog pitch ) possibly best turntable ever made for mixing records
i dont really understand what is the real difference between a digital pitch and a analog pitch fader... i never touched a 1200, i only have numark TT200 turntables (they are cheap but good for bedroom) and i'm able to get mixes going well with them.. idont know if they are digital or analog either...
@@256k_ Hi, to asnwer your question.
Digital pitch ranges have set a value depending on on the tempo range you choose. For example a CDJ will go up in 0.02 inclines if you set it to 6% pitch, and 0.05% on 10% pitch.
Analogue is totally dependant on the amount you move the fader, so if you make a small enough adjustment you can move to pitch by 0.0001%.
I uploaded a vinyl close up mix with mixing timestamps. Let me know what you think!
Hell yeaaaaah🔥🔥🔥 #heat loving it
Been Djing since the 90’s started with vinyl. Judging your hand placement and movement. One major pro tip - Try your best to eliminate pitch bending using your fingers and Instead master riding the pitch.
Why do you choose to have the tracks at a loud gain but the master at 0 dB, instead of both at 0 dB?
I was asking myself the same thing. The signal is high n it's not even to the half way mark
Epic
Niiiiice!
Not bad! 🙌🏽
Nice 🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Cool dj skill!!!))
Good to see decks but just leave that mixer alone and mix the tunes 👌🎧
Mixer is important too.
@@Quim141 it is, but it's also nice to hear at least half of the actual track lol :D
This is a 12 minute video on mixing with effects though right? So serves its purpose
junior jack!
Review new MK7 decks.
just got my first setup, 2 1200s and a mixer and absolutely, serato, laptops and everything else that does the work for you was never an option, vinyl only 12inch singles
Hey nice vinyl mix, those pioneers plx1000 tho , I mixed on them few times, the pitch etc is nothing like Technics that's why I'm guessing your not moving the pitch from 0% much lol 😁
I think vinyl mix on Technics sl1210 or 1200 be good video I hope you do that
THIS ^^^^^
Even though he was only doing short mixes, he still had to constantly adjust the pitch or push/drag the record every 4 bars to try and keep them matched.
On a Technics Mk2/M3d or Mk5 there is a much finer adjustment, and even at +6% or -6% pitch, you can match the beats almost exactly so they stay in time for much longer without battling to keep them in time.
All the tunes he used in this 'mix' were the same BPM's as each other lol :-p
@@DjNikGnashers Plx1000 is great for DVS and performance !! but vinyl no way !! I've seen Carl Cox do crap mixing them and he's legend at mixing
I'm just saying from experience I was in club bar they had them and was new !! but after few mixes on vinyl you just couldn't do longer mixes
@@DjNikGnashers digital pitch is garbage. Analogue all the way!
@@DjNikGnashers exactly what i was thinking also.

Killing the low end every time is a bit naughty..
I missed Episodes 1 and 2. Can you put the links in description please? Ps. Keep up the great work CROSSFADER!!!
No problem. Links now added in description!
I noticed the trim level isn't even halfway and the signal is really high. Is that just the mixers headroom or why is that?
👍 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍
PLX 1000 is actually better turntable than Technics SL-1200GR that cost up to 3 x more. Just a hint if you are looking to get something good in mid range. PLX 1000 is heavier, better insulated, better motor, optical speed control that is more precise, lot better pitch and range, excellent for home audiophile, better cabling as standard, dust cover lifts off no hinges for better access, lot easier and cheaper to maintain and service. Negative no 78 speed.
Buenas noches disculpen mi ignorancia qe mixer usa...se puede usar con una pc para monitoriar los bpm y todo eso...pd
What kinda slipmats do u use?
Very nice slippy😀👍
God Pioneer, why not put some decent phono pramps in this mixer?
What genre of music would this be
House & Tech-House mainly, yes.
amazing play and tunes .
any chance to send me list the songs you playin please ? first and sec tune is really good , thank you
First, nice job
que nivel mi vale
Can you add a Traktor controller (or any external controller) to this setup as a Line input, to be able to use and mix in digital tracks from a laptop ?
Certainly can. Just put the RCA out from the controller into any line input on a mixer. This is a 2 channel so it wouldn't work but you can if you have an extra channel
That's unless you keep switching from phono to line on one of the channels.
Any chance that I could use the footage in a video of mine and credit you in the description?
1:25 song name pls ?🙏
How good are these compared to the SL 1200/MK2,etc?
I don't get what's happening!
Tracks id?
Where do you buy those vinyls ?
Discogs
Where can i get this records?
First two IDs?
tracklist?! asap
Amazing mix,
Tracklist please!!!
Any PLX users here ? Is that pitch as bad as everybody is talking about or is that just good old “Technics is the best and nothing can compare to it in next 1000 years” hype ? Never used Pioneer turntables but it’s strange that they would release a turntable with SUCH a bad pitch...
@Nebitno Nebitno
it's certainly different. Digital Vs analogue.
Digital pitch ranges have set a value depending on on the tempo range you choose. For example a CDJ will go up in 0.02 inclines if you set it to 6% pitch, and 0.05% on 10% pitch.
Analogue is totally dependent on the amount you move the fader, so if you make a small enough adjustment you can move to pitch by 0.0001%. So it's much easier to get the beats bang on time with an analog fader. Especially useful if you're doing long mixes/transitions.
People hatin', I seen Jazzy Jeff and Scratch Bastid use them on tour!
They can't be that bad smh
@@jasonhardy142 they're good hop DJs so of course they're gonna be great
Yes, I have a set and for mixing, they're shite for long tight transitions. Digital pitch is crap, the steps are too large. You spend most of the time fighting to keep them in time. 1210s MK2 are what you want if you're mixing with vinyl
never moved from 1-2% on pitch fader lol
even then there was some struggle....but to be fair, it doesnt look like its intuitive to ride that digital pitch.
Why would you expect there to be? When you create a set you look for music that works well together. By its very definition it's going to be about the same BPM as well as they key of the song. Even on 1210's back in the day the only time I would need to move the pitch fader a significant amount was when learning new tracks and trying them with other records.
@@ruk2023-- True, but it also depends on the style of the music that you're playing . I play some hard house and acid trance, and some of the tracks BPMs can differ significantly.
@@AmbientWanderer I'm not trying to start a fight, but what are you calling significant? Just trying to set the baseline in my head. I would consider a 5bpm difference significant personally.
@@ruk2023-- some of the tracks range from 138. - 150BPM
Every record brought in off-beat and then you fucked about with it! You need to practice more.
黑膠超難
Probably you should learn how to mix with vinyls first, then make a video.
Am I the only one that had no problem with his set? I've played on vinyl a few times and I didn't see an issue with how he was mixing.
@@rcboy147 ive been playing vinyl since 1997, that's why i see or hear things you may be don't
Tony Bucks so what is essential to you in a mix that he maybe didn’t do? Any tips?
@@house3344 his technique first, very lame, no creativity in his grooves, no interaction with the EQ and mixer. Turntables are A LOT of fun if you know what to do.
amazing br0
Mixer with fx? 😒 use a rotary or something classic with it
The worst mixer for vinyl, but they will never tell you that. The mids are a joke on pioneer mixers
@Raïs Hamidou Night Club
Raïs Hamidou Night Clubyeah, they don't sound great. Allen & Heath are heaps above Pioneer when it comes to their sound quality. Those Xone Mixers have absolutely fantastic Phono Pre-Amps.
you can tell by his hands he doesnt have a lot of self-confidence, plus a lot of corrections on the platter totally unnecessary
The nature of vinyl is that you must always adjust to account for flutter on the decks ... true skill - not just digitally locked :)
@@dubbler9228 false statement, go and check any pro dj, lets say Oscar Mulero for instance... see and compare
Ugh techno sucks!
