Thawk Gaming I’m not sure about Deep Lows, the game does maintain a pretty consistent amount of quality. I even enjoyed Purple and Red Streamer still even though they were the weakest ones. I’d say 8/10 or 9/10 honestly.
For those not aware, this entire boss fight is a massive reference to the all-women Takarazuka Revue. It's heavily implied that the rubber band is a washed up Otokoyaku (male role performer) who didn't become Top Star, and the music and grand staircases are dead giveaways. As a huge zuka fan (and theatre fan in general), I was dying of laughter during this entire boss fight. I'm so genuinely curious if the original Japanese text had more explicit references!
Well, except if otokoyaku can be females aswell, it might not work. Since with the way languages, latin ones in particular, The Rubber Band as been gendered as a Woman. Her voice when singing is also quite feminine, don't you think?
Idk why but the scene at 8:36 made me lose my mind. Just the combination of the sexy saxophone music, Mario’s deadpan impression and the fact that he just fainted afterwards is so funny to me
@@rebeccalotto8001 Leave Mario idle on stage while the punk version goes on and you'll see him jamming, it's soo good! I recommend going to the very front of the stage to avoid the Paper Macho Shy Guys as much as possible for you to be able to witness Mario fully jamming out in all of its glory.
A small story time but when I was doing the koopa shell spinning part in the game my puppy kept trying to go after them and chasing them and following then on the tv and barked at them all angry with all the other show parts she just watched closely idk why she had a thing for the koopa shell spin scene tho
This whole sequence was just a fever dream. It’s destined to become one of those video games moments I assumed never really happened until I replay it.
Look, I don’t wanna blaspheme our lord and savior TTYD or anything, but does anyone notice that Mario literally shows more personality and emotion in these 33 minutes than he did in the entirety of the first two Paper Mario games?
Thawk Gaming Hole Puncher & Tape have more personality than all the partners of the first 2 games combined. Of course, the designs had to be boring & plain because of the character limitations the dev team so they had to add extra personality to the writing but at least the Legion of Stationary were actually intimidating. Considering how we can basically feel the pain the office supplies inflict in the game. Mario’s pain is relatable because we all most likely had an accident with those supplies.
If the games ever got remastered or were made today maybe he would? It's almost like those games were early in the series and they were still getting a feel for graphics... Or something.

But I allowed it, since it was actually a pretty funny revelation and it didn't start out as a single rubber band.

Rubber band has one of the best introductions in the Legion of Stationary, second only to hole punch in my opinion. The grand and slightly overdone music when she reveals herself that then shifts into the confrontation music sends chills up my spine. The boss fight however… I would say hers is one of the most difficult fights in the ENTIRE game, ESPECIALLY the last part where she WONT. STOP. MOVING!!! And I died so much on that last part too! Its so satisfying when you finally manage to grab her and yeet her out of the arena to finish her off

This boss does not bode well for those with joycon drift. Especially the last 1000 fold arms but where the rubber band moves so quickly and you have to as well but because the joy con drift goes left you can’t go right and then you completely miss the turn

Birdo's new personality is great, it's like if you mixed rouge and amy together, but you actually gave them good dialogue to work off of.
