- This is a short cimematic film on custom cresting, airbrushing, and arrow building. This is something I still do with all my arrows. It gives them character and makes them very unique. Old school arrow building is a lost art and I enjoy continuing the heritage and legacy.... I hope you enjoy it. This is 100% self filmed start to finish on a tripod, motion slider, and some creative one handed balancing acts.
Amen brother. I take pride in customizing my arrows. I like knowing that no one has arrows like mine. More or less personalizing them. Keep on.
Eric.....
I like the subtle accents of filming.. the taking of the apron off,,,the taking of the glasses off,,,,,the plugging in of the plug,,,the panning in and the soft guitar music made me feel a golfers shot on a dew laiden green,, the kerplunk of a well placed fishermans bobber, the first sniff of a well brewed wine..etc..etc..
i now understand why arrows are so expensive . so much time and work go in to building them . great video bro .
Thanks for sharing. Awesome video.
Thank you for your video.
7 month ago I watched it for the first time and it was the reason why I started to custom build my arrows.
At the tournament my wife and myself were the only ones with colorful, hand-crested arrows.
It was very satisfying for me.
nice video man all i got to say, im an avid trad bow man myself but im happy to see that somone did such a fabulous job not only on the arrows themselves but the video, thanks for sharing.
Excellent download. I used to do my own arrows, back in the day. Thank you.
total awesome, the work and the filming. well done and thanks
I've not dipped and crested. Awesome video.thank you. a new project is now in the making
Interesting, never seen anyone do that with carbons. The end result looks spectacular.
great video , a lot of people now days forget about how much satisfaction can you get out of a self made product . keep up the good work !
Oh man those are awesome arrows wish I had the money for that
Very Nice video,Professionally done...
I always wanted to get into this. A local shop sold crested arrows but nothing more than white paint. They still looked very classy on a quiver. Thanks for sharing your video, reminds me I should get back to past hobbies and the ones I didn't quite get into.
I like the mood the music makes it....great video
best video i have seen thus fare...from one arrow addict to another hats off
Wow!!! Outstanding video. Thank You.
Very nice video :) I really like those arrows
Great video, but let me caution folks who might be new to this. I crown dip and crest all of my arrows. Years ago, the day before I had a shoot I prepped aluminums with the new super uni system. Being in a rush I didn't plug the nock end. The next day I dry fired close 6-8 arrows. I pulled out the nocks and replaced with new ones and would wait for a click to alert me of a potential dry fire. Called Bohning and confirmed what I thought, I hadn't gotten the vapors out of the shaft and the vapors were reacting with the plastic nocks. Always, always plug the nock end before dipping-- a dowel will work just fine...
amazing job, color scheme is nice.
awesome job man. that's some good work.
Thank You
Very nice ! I'm going to try some .
Fantastic video. Thanks for the inspiration.
Probably one of the best videos on CZcams. Just the way that the video was composed was fantastic. You make outstanding arrows and should be commended on keeping the traditions going!
Awesome! You are a truly talented craftsman!
so epic arrows
Awsome move, the way you have recorded this has shown more to me than many other people could have.
Amazing work. Hats off to the artist and all who made the film
I self filmed this! Start to finish
wow that was an amazing short film, I think I may want to start building my own arrows, so thankyou
wow those arrows looks amazing!!
Thanks man
Nice looking arrows and a great job on the video!
Extremely entertaining! The production could be no better than this. I have a new respect for the art of arrow building. The craftsmanship, the camera work and the music all come together to present a short which I had to watch several times to take everything in. I'll probably watch this many more times in the future.
Thank You
Thanks for sharing awesome job
This is Art, great music.
props to you man, i could never bring my self to go through that much work only to shoot it through one MAYBE two deer before its broken... nice work
great videography on my fav topic
Wish I had all the equipment to do this my self!
So forgotten that it's not even called fletching anymore?
Congratulations for video and music, it was great!
And the arrows, just perfect!
God Bless you brother! and Thank you!
Que nivel!!! ("what a level" ) Respect and congratulations from venezuela!!
Very Cool vid!!!
Good job sir... there are not many videos as this one.

excellent vid! They look amazing!!...love the camera work, music, everything fits perfectly.
wow very good job :)
nice work ! well done !congrats
Nice footage and edit man, and great work =)
thank you
awesome work, video and editing also great
the soundtrack is good also.
I always thought glow in the dark paint would be kinda wild, bet it would be fun to shoot low light conditions
Wow that's really neat, i don't have anywhere near the needed amount of patience to do this
Great work!
Great video and very nice work.
great video guys....nice production value, good work.
awesome
this was actually a fascinating video. i craft my own wooden arrows for my traditional recurve and long bows, but it never occurred to me to customize my carbon shafts for my compound... the mechanical precision of the compound bow sort of lacks the inspiration for "made by hand" accessories that the traditional gear has.
Thanks to you, my set of arrows for next season will be custom built. cheers!
btw, can you link the songs used in this video in the description? very good tunes, very relaxing.
That was pretty freaking cool I enjoyed it. That would be nice to do in my arrows
Nice video i love archery
very great film, music, and story. My cousin and I do film similar as I play guitar in a similar style to the music in this film. Very inspiring. Keep up the great work.
Good video. However, with all due respect, wouldn't "the forgotten art" be like making traditional wooden arrows rather than by using all the tools and products you use? These arrows seem to resemble the arrows you can buy in stores so how would this be a "forgotten art"?
Wow awesome video! It would be so cool to make my own arrows.
yea
That was great man. Ibet your mad when you robin hood one of those. Definatly a work of art for sure
Very interesting video. Thanks for sharing
This was a fantastic video, Ive just started getting into using a bow and this was a very well put together clip. Not just the arrow making but the video itself. The music was great, the lighting was fantastic. It was great quality all around and looked extremely professional.
Awesome skills, full respect mate, really enjoyed watching that vid :-)
Great video!! Serious skills and patience.
that is a cool video i subbed
Very well done video. The are is not lost though. Just not as many people do their own anymore.
This is my kind of art...
I just woke up! What did I miss?
It's called cresting and its an art that is as old as arrow smithing!
Awesome video thinking about trying this myself did do the entire process with bohning paints and glue?
wow thats really cool, I would like to do that to my arrows, does the paint weigh down the arrows at all? i would also like to try using arrow heads, they look cool
i subbed cause at 5:19 it has a Bible Verse! God Bless Ya
Thought this was going to be a cool video on how to do them cheap and easily. Then I saw your finished work and thought, "I wouldn't want anything less than that quality!" Watched the full video, yeah, I'll stick with the wraps because that takes talent.
However, I wonder if that white stuff he dips the arrow into is heavy, and affects the weight. It sure looks thick.
nice work brother how much is 1 of them arrows ?
He could have saved a lot of time by just buying some arrow wraps, and having them cut at the store where he bought the arrows. Plus if he's shooting groups of threes.... why do it with broadheads on the arrows. He could cut the fletching and all that work will be for nothing. Buy some NAP Quick Fletch and save some time.
I enjoy making these arrows, and coming up with colors others don't have. I don't like wraps. If I cut the vanes (which I do) I just put them in a pile for the next batch I make. I don't worry about supply, I shoot what I hunt with. Thanks for watching.
Really cool cresting job! Does the paint change or effect the spine?
Love this video! I noticed you dipped your nock in as well but in a couple of scenes later it was back to orange. Did you replace it or just clean it off after it dried? Also, what kind of crester is that?
very nice looks great could you send me the mix of paint and thinner you use for airbrushing?
very nice Job how many years are you shooting now ?
nice bow by the way I know it from someone from my shooting club :D
and i would be very happy if you could tell me which tips you use the look very interesting
Thank you for your video and greetings from germany :D
does the paint effect the weight of your arrow very much
nice
Please can someone tell me the name and where i can download the last song. Id love to have it to listen to while im Kayaking. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP!!!
nice music! What is it? Anyone knows who is the author?
will you sell any of those arrows???
Why did you go to the expense of the Fletch-Lac paint, and then use Blazer knock-offs?
NAP was a sponsor of mine
great vid, but i came here with high hopes of learning to build it more than paint it
where did you get those cresting tools and airbrushes. also the paint etc
wouldnt be hard to google all that info..just sayn
Bohning Archery
What is the song Name?
Can I buy them??
I liked the video until I found out you shot a compound!
