    I had testicular cancer in 2007. My right one swelled up almost to the size of a plum. At the time, I had a bad temper. My life was horrible for other reasons. Anyway, I didn't connect my nausea to my anger and my testicle. I went over a year this way and probably would have died had I not gotten fired because of this. Eventually I did go to the ER and by that time I was stage 4. I had to have surgery, I had to go through 4, 3, week courses of BEP. I was on an out patient basis and had to go in 6 days a week. I got bleo one day, then the others the other day. My last treatment was New Year's Eve 2007. They gave me a big bottle of Vicodin and I never took it because I didn't think I was in pain. I thought I was nauseous until the last month when I had a headache, so I took a Vicodin and my nausea went away!! Turned out it was my lymph nodes were giving me pain. My cancer had spread everywhere, including into my left lung. I wanted to tell my story, so maybe someone won't do what I did and have the cure for the nausea that is really pain and so you don't gain 60 pounds in 4 months trying to stop the pain.
    These disease has an over 95% survivability rate. So chances are if you just found out you have Testicular cancer, you are going to survive. With that, I want to point you in the direction of testicular cancer jokes. There are many and there are very funny ones. My favorite has always been, What's good about testicular cancer? You can only get it twice.

      I had a sharp pain in my right testicle. Not all the time, but sometimes. At a certain point the pains were so bad I couldn't stand up straight when they hit me. Also I could feel a small lump. So those combined made me go see my doctor!

      @@CiaranDoyler Hard to say precisely. There was definitely pain and it was pretty bad. It would come in waves and be very bad for a couple seconds/minutes and than slowly fade away. I didn't feel for a lump myself (probably should have in hindsight) but I am sure it was already there when the pain was there.

    Today is my last bleomycin day of cycle 1; day 15. The first heavy week was terrible for me due to the steroids which really disrupted my sleep. Now I have terrible stomach problems which I can’t seem to find any relief for. I switched to soft foods like boiled and mashed root vegetables, apple sauce, bananas, peanut butter, soup/broth. I’ve lost 11 pounds as of now. I had a pizza actually the other day. It was so damn good lmao. Oh well. The cure rate is super high which I’m grateful for so just have to stick it out.

      Hey man. Still going strong. Feels like ages ago at this point. I lost all hair at a certain point; brows, beard, head, everything. What stage did you have?

    • @jedu_youtube
      @jedu_youtube Před 4 lety

      I'm not an expert on the stage system because I think it's pretty advanced and has a lot of sub-stages. But since my cancer spread to different organs (in my case my lung) it was classified as stage III.
      But I think it heavily depends on tumor-size and the kind of tumor etc.

      @@Sujitkumar-ff1oy Hey, sorry I didn't see your message earlier. Testicular cancer is pretty curable nowadays. I'm no doctor but I think even if the BEP chemo doesn't catch on they can still try another sort of chemo.
      I think it depends per person how fast it catches on. By or after the 3rd cycle blood markers should be slowly going down.
      If there is still a small tumor left they might remove it with surgery.
      All the best to your brother!
