Mod context:
Mario.exe’s model is based off of a VERY old picture of a creepy mario with sharp teeth holding a knife with the text “mario get you next time”, and the bloody 1ups in the game would make you vomit up bloody and die, so you had to jump over them
The colorless mario is called GB, an oc created by one of the devs that mario.exe turns into, and he's basically the mario.exe version of EXE
luigi is from IHateYou.exe, a short game where mario is forced to kill his own brother by drowning him in lava, the eyeless boos, “I HATE YOU” blood text, and multiple corpse marios being from it
The second luigi is from the beta game over screen in luigi’s mansion, where there was a time limit of I think 24 hours to beat it and if you didn’t, mario was trapped forever, also it wasn’t shown here, but halfway through the song it would start thunderstorming, and when lightning struck, occasionally you would see lightning strike and a shadow of a hanged bf would appear, this is a reference to a very infamous luigi’s mansion glitch, where whenever lightning struck while talking on a phone in the attic, your shadow would be elevated and slack right under a ceiling beam, as if luigi was hanging by a noose
The next one is the Wario Apparition, a famous super mario 64 creepypasta/anomaly, he appears in the 30 star door in the basement, saying “you want fun? Wario show you fun!”, and chases mario down a near endless hallway, it is said it can also cause the player stroke-like symptoms and memory loss
Next is MX, the mario.exe of Mario 85 and is basically mario.exe’s Lord X, and if you didn’t catch it, he had a reference to Xenophane in triple trouble in the first part of his song
And lastly is Racist Mario, a version of mario from a very popular old animation, and he’s racist towards non nintendo characters and violent towards everyone, viewer discretion is advised when watching that animation

The Luigi in the "I Hate You" song comes from the Super Mario World creepypasta under the same name, where Luigi is revealed to have been helping Bowser kidnap Peach in every single game because of his frustration of being in Mario's shadow, he then tries to kill Mario who accidently pushes him in the lava, which is why he looks like that in the mod. At some point in the creepypasta, the player also encounters Boos with no eyes and drowned Mario corpses like in the mod. The flying Wario head comes from early trailers of Super Mario 64, and most importantly from the creepypasta which reused him which says that every copy of Mario 64 is personalized, that an AI in the code adapts the game depending on the player, the console, or the country, which allows cut content of the game to appear in your save file, including the Wario Apparition which would be a scrapped boss battle where Mario is being chased by Wario's head in an infinite hallway.
The Luigi in the "Alone" song is from the game over screen from the beta of Luigi's Mansion, originally the game was supposed to have a time limit,and when you ran out of time, you saw a cutscene with this Luigi. Some think that it shows that Luigi became a ghost, some others think that he became depressed because he couldn't save Mario. All of this mixed with the creepypasta which says that Luigi committed suicide at some point in the game. You should really check the original creepypastas by yourself 👍

I really like that part where MX says "WAHOOOOOO" just like in the actual game where he fells in the pit then he comes back by jumping and saying this.

8:58 Originally, "Luigi Mansion" was going to have a time limit to rescue Mario. If you failed, there's a game over screen of a depressed Luigi for failing to save his brother. The shadow rope is a reference to a lighting glitch that happens in the game.
Update: The sad Luigi was just promotional material, not a game over screen.

@zimbo In the attic of the mansion, the camera is in an angle it's not usually supposed to be, and when the lighting strikes, Luigi's shadow us pushed up, therefore making it look like luigi's shadow is hanging

The Luigi in World 2 is from the creepypasta "I HATE YOU!" In it, Luigi grew a deep hatred for his brother getting all the attention and teamed up with Bowser. His appearance is due to him being reluctantly knocked into the lava by Mario.

so that sad luigi in world 3, to my knowledge it was something that was basically cut from luigi's mansion. the common theory about it is that it was a scrapped game over screen if luigi failed to save mario, which would mean that's actually luigi after mario died
the common theory is also a load of horseshit that has no evidence whatsoever and has been deconfirmed several trillion times.
What this is based off of is the old ending system where instead of it being the mansion being rebuilt or forgotten forever its mario either being completely fine or gone forever, in the latter the picture they would've used is luigi looking very sad with a flower.

Powerdown is a dodge mechanic done well and not in an obnoxious way, happening almost exclusively during MX's segments and also not straight up killing you instantly, just bringing you close to losing with at least a small room for error.

Each copy of the game is personalized which means if you play someone else’s n64 the game would feel off which is why the game is said to be “cursed” which is also why they call it “Wario’s Apparition”

Another reference people seem to miss in this mod is the red and black motif seen in the cutscenes, main menu, and background of “It’s-a Me”.
It’s a reference to the Virtual Boy console which had some big health concerns because of the bright red graphics it used which was really bad for kids eyes when used for long periods of time.

More of a legend about that every Mario 64 copy is personalized, basically every player has false memories from the game nowadays, many of them include the Wario head in it, kinda nightmare fuel

MX: The "WAHOO" in the homestretch of MX's song 'Powerdown' is a reference to the original game, where MX falls into a pit, but when you think you escaped, he JUMPS up and bolts it towards you a second time.
At the end of Powerdown, the 'SO LONG BOYFRIEND' is a reference to 'SO LONG LUCAS' at the end of the demo.
IHATEYOU Luigi: Luigi is sick of Mario for being in his shadow, and he teams up with Bowser after Mario knocks him into the lava.
Apparition Wario: Not much I know about him. All I know is he's from a creepypasta called "Personalized Mario 64" or something like that.
W3 Luigi: It's not a creepypasta, it's E3 Trailer Luigi's Mansion. People just adapted the depressed game over screen in the Trailer TOWARDS creepypastas.
Wario apparition is from a creepypasta known as "every copy is personalized". It says that every M64 game has an AI that slightly tweaks the game to satisfy the player based on previous data. It came from the fact that when talking about the game, some people had different things happen. So this one could be true.
As for Wario head, sometimes there was a glitch that a floating Wario head says (not accurate), "you want to play a game. Lucky for you your old pal Wario has a a game for you" and then chases Mario down a hallway

This kinda reminds me of Super Mario 64 DS just because of the fact that Waluigi isn't present, but Mario, Luigi, and Wario are (Yes I know Yoshi ain't there either, but honestly, at least in my eye's, I don't know any Yoshi creepypastas so work with me here.) I'mma list the origins of each character for you
The first Mario: based off of an old picture, would usually be the first image you see if you looked up "Mario.exe" at least a long time ago
Second Mario: Not based off of anything as far as I'm aware, it's just a Gameboy styled battle
Sad Luigi: based off of an old game over cutscene used in Luigi's Mansion
Burnt Luigi: based off of an old Super Mario World creepypasta called "I Hate You" at the end, Luigi tries to kill Mario so Mario has no other choice but to kill Luigi, if you win, it shows a image of Mario, Peach, and Luigi. Mario's looking at Luigi in anger, Peach is crying, and Luigi looks how he does in the mod
Wario Head: Based on a more recent creepypasta called "The Wario Apparition" where if you go down a certain hall in Mario 64, you'll get chased by a flying Wario Head and you can't get away from it. Encountering it is supposed to mentally Affect the player.
Third Mario: Based on a old game called "Super Mario Bros. PC Port" I believe it was, where you play the first level as Luigi and when you make it to the end you start to get chased by the weird bulky Mario who is extremely fast so you can't mess up on your run back or you're screwed
Fourth Mario: Based on an old, offensive, weird, comedy, Mario Kart animation from a long time ago that got popular due to its insane events within the video called "Racist Mario" where a bunch of Non-Nintendo characters were playing with Mario and Mario's essentially Racist towards people who aren't Nintendo, characters like Sonic and Kratos appear in the video.

I'm surprised so few people have played it. It's an amazing mod. 2 weeks, many challenge songs and even three secret songs (and you don't need to rely on google to know how to unlock them. The game gives you the hints for it.)

It was a rom hack I think and from what I remember, it was Mario going around and seeing weird stuff, seeing a bloody bullet bill, ghosts with no eyes, and then at the end, in the castle, there’s a reference to the sky trees (alien like creatures in super Mario Galaxy 2), and at the end there’s a word that says “I hate you” and it turns out it’s Luigi who’s doing all this, and sadly, Mario had to push his brother into the lava, and at the end screen, Luigi is just a burnt corpse with Mario looking mad and peach crying
“Alone” from what I recall was a old death scene? And there’s a “glitch” where in Luigi’s mansion, lightning strikes, and you can a shadow of Luigi hanging from a noose
Not sure of the black and white Mario, but the tall Mario is literally just called Mario.exe and very similar to sonic.exe

And then the funny sonic racing one is based off a CZcams video called “Racist Mario”, which I’m sure you’ve probably seen before.

Then the flute is the magical flute that warps you to other worlds. The second free play song (the one with the sad Luigi) is from the removed bad ending to Luigi’s Mansion where Luigi doesn’t save Mario and becomes depressed. The song with Wario if a reference to the Mario 64 personalized series. The first song with Mario is actually the first ever picture of Mario.exe (Which personally is very nostalgic) the poison mushrooms are also from the oc port of Mario.exe. The burned Luigi is also from the game “I hate you” (the same name as the song) and last but not least we have racist Mario from an animation under the same name “Racist Mario”

The 1st mario you see is based off not of a creepypasta but from a very old Picture of a scary mario holding a knife.
The 2nd mario you see the pixel one, is based of a creepypasta.
Next is I HATE YOU LUIGI, he's based of a creepypasta where Luigi actually was secretly working agaisnt mario, mario found this out and hated he's brother to the point of throwing him in lava and almost killing him.
Next is the sad luigi, it is based of a unused ending but shown in the game con where it is a trailer for a ending or a New episode for the luigi mansion.
Next is Wario, he is actually in a real Nintendo mario game, which is mario 64, he was removed due to it "Being to scary for children".
Next is MX mario or "Mario.exe Pc port" He is a cursed mario who is a killer and a weird version of normal mario, the part when he says "YAHOOO" actually bases of when Mx mario fell into a hole but when he jumps put the hole.

World 2: "You think koopa worked alone?" IHateYou Is a mod where Luigi betrays Mario and tries to kill him but is instead thrown in the lava by his own brother, The faceless boos are from the mod and the frozen Mario's are also from the IHateYou mod. (Mod? Creepypasta?)
World 3: Yeah there's no line here. Alone is actually pretty sad. It's actually like, a bit cannon? But yeah, it's based on the Luigi's mansion 1 beta death.
World 4: We don't talk about this.
World 5: "So long Lucas.." Mario MX a boy named Lucas(he's 8 or 9) got trapped in a mario game and became Luigi while a monster named MX is Mario. So yeah, the head of Luigi on the pike is actually a nod to the game and also if you think about it that's the head of a 8 year old on a pike.

Fun Fact: The sad Luigi is actually the beta version of luigi when he dies for the first Luigi’s mansion. It shows that face in front of the mansion with creepy sounds and a game over screen. Luckily, that was only the beta death, glad they removed it.

Ok do to my immense obsession with Nintendo I’m going to list all the references I know
-I don’t know what creepy pasta the Mario from the first song is from but I do know that the second song is reference to Super Mario Land on the gameboy
-The Burned face Luigi if from a rom hack of Super Mario World (which might have originally been a creepypasta but I’m not sure on that though) where Luigi is the final boss and you knock him into the lava (also the Mario’s coming out of the lava are a reference to the dead Mario’s from previous lives in the rom hack)
-The sad Luigi is from an old trailer I think from Space world 2001? (Space World was basically Nintendo’s own E3) where it is a cut bad ending from the game when the game used to have a time limit for an unknown use but the theory is that it was a countdown until Luigi couldn’t save Mario anymore for some reason so Luigi gets depressed knowing he failed save his brother and he’ll never see him again
-The third song is the Wario Aparition (I definitely misspelled that)or every copy of Mario 64 is personalized where the Wario Apirition was used in some of those videos
