My heart breaks for the daughter. Having to witness your parents act like that in public is mortifying.
My dad habitually caused a scene in public. I often wanted to crawl into a hole.
Mine was the same way. He made a fool of himself.
in story 1: Im so glad the flight attendants and co-pilot handled the situation professionally. Kudos to them!
"Never underestimate a grandma with knitting needles." If that isn't a universal fact, what is....
She gon knit you if you mess with her
"Karen's back-up dancer" 🤣😂
Can I help you?
I'm so proud of Nana No-Nonsense for standing up to Karen's husband. You go, grandma!
Curious as to if knitting needles are allowed on a plane. Obviously, they can be used as a weapon.
I feel sorry for the daughter. She didn't deserve to be dragged into her parents' drama.
This is why I always choose the aisle seat. You never know when youll have to defend it from a Karen.
"A lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on mine."
Yes, It's a perfect reminder that someone else's lack of preparation isn't your responsibility.
As someone who works in customer service, I feel for the flight attendant. She handled that situation like a pro.
I'm so relieved the crew stood their ground. Nobody should be subjected to that kind of abuse on a flight.
This type of behavior is why I no longer consider flying anymore. If I can't get there by train I just don't go! Plus I'm old now& I just don't have the patience.
I'm filled with joy that Stroller Mom received so much support from strangers. It shows that kindness still exists.
As a frequent flyer, I'm glad to see the airline taking a stand against disruptive passengers.
As a frequent flyer, when was the last time you saw knitting needles on an international flight?
I love Nana and the knitting needles
I'm so grateful for Park Hero! We need more people like him who aren't afraid to stand up to bullies.
I'm absolutely livid! How dare Central Park Karen harass a mother for feeding her child?
I'm overjoyed for OP! Getting upgraded to business class is the ultimate revenge against a Karen.
This is a prime example of why flight attendants deserve our respect. They deal with so much crap.
I'm so proud of everyone who stood up for Stroller Mom. It takes courage to speak out against injustice.
That's not an injustice, it's being unprepared. She could have pumped and brought it with her, as babies always get hungry.
I can't believe someone would actually call the police on a breastfeeding mother.
I hope Stroller Mom is okay. Being harassed like that must have been so stressful.
She'll learn to be prepared next time.
This story makes me want to cry tears of happiness. It's a beautiful example of community and compassion.
The flight attendant handled that situation with incredible grace and professionalism.
This story makes me so happy! It's a reminder that there are still good people in the world.
I'm so angry that this mother had to endure such harassment. It's unacceptable!
This is absolutely unacceptable! No mother should be harassed for feeding their child.
I'm in awe of Park Hero's bravery. He's a true role model for all of us.
st 2: Im so happy to see people standing up for breastfeeding moms. Its a natural and beautiful thing!
I'm so relieved that Central Park Karen didn't succeed in ruining Stroller Mom's day. She deserved to enjoy her time in the park.
I'm ecstatic that OP got to enjoy business class! It's a small consolation for dealing with such a nightmare.
This is my biggest fear when flying. I'm so glad OP didn't back down.
st 1: This story is a perfect example of why you should never give in to bullies.
I'm not surprised the airline kicked them off. They have the right to refuse service to disruptive passengers.
As someone who travels a lot, I've seen my share of Karens. This one takes the cake!
Saint Patience - Excellent name for a flight attendant! Glorious.
That's a fantastic name for a flight attendant! How did the "Karen" react when you said no?
Wow, some people are insane, Story 1 was hectic and I hope that Karen's daughter never ends up like her Mom.
Kudos to the crew for handling the chaos.
Central Park Karen's behavior is absolutely reprehensible. She should be ashamed of herself.
The upgrade sounds like a well-deserved reward for your patience.
Love to see people stand up for themselves. And the upgrade? It was worth it!
Wow, this Karen took entitlement to a whole new level! Glad OP got an upgrade, though.
I'm beyond disgusted by Central Park Karen's actions. She should be ashamed of herself.
I'm disgusted by Central Park Karen's attempt to weaponize the police against a breastfeeding mother. It's a blatant abuse of power.
There needs to be a $500 fine for making calls to the police for silly reasons.
This story gives me hope for humanity. We can overcome hate and ignorance if we stand together.
I'm so glad they got kicked off. Nobody deserves to be subjected to that on a flight.
I love no nonsense nana he’s hilarious 😆
Really nice that Karen and butt buddy got the seats they deserved, out on the concourse. But I really think OP should've allowed Nana No Nonsense to take the business class seat. Little old lady deserved it for shutting them down.
And young OP was healthy enough to stand the aisle seat he paid for.
Sounds exhausting. Congrats on keeping your cool.
story 1: This story made my day. I love a happy ending where the good guy wins!
I can't imagine how stressed Stroller Mom must have been. She handled the situation with grace.
Stand your ground!
NTAG. Karen is used to people being afraid of her. Stand your ground.
You did the right thing! Karen was being unreasonable. Hopefully the rest of the flight goes smoothly.
I wonder what Karen's excuse was for thinking those were her seats.
Yeah, that needed to be explained.
It's about time airlines started taking action against disruptive passengers.
She should have made sure they were together when she bought the tickets
Exactly why I always check my seat before boarding.
I can't imagine dealing with that kind of stress on a 20-hour flight. OP, you're a saint.
Glad you stood your ground!
It would have been nice of him to give the improved seat to the granny, plus I’m surprised they let her take knitting needles on an airplane .
Have you encountered similar situations, and how did you or others handle them?
Nana No Nonsense & her knitting needles.! My god how perfect!!!
I've heard that knitting can be quite therapeutic
Nana is out of all our leagues 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
I feel bad for the daughter. She must have been mortified by her parents' behavior.
I've seen my share of Karens, but this one is definitely top-tier.
First story, you do realize that knitting needles aren't allowed on aircraft, right? Second story; this is why we pump and are prepared.
They are indeed prohibited items on most commercial aircraft due to their potential use as weapons.
I understand both sides. Sometimes, peace is worth more than a seat.
This story is so inspiring! It shows the power of community and support.
This story reads like a sitcom episode. I can't believe it actually happened!
NTA regardless of circumstances
Her inability to prepare doesn't constitute a emergency on you
I believe there might be a misunderstanding.
Sounds like you got a well-deserved reward for all that stress. Congratulations!
Haha, congrats on the upgrade! Karen deserves a lesson!
What is it with some people who demand your seat? Book your seats together when you buy your tickets. We had a similar situation flying from Vancouver BC, to Orlando, changing planes in Houston Family had 4 middle seats and one aisle on first flight and mother demanded we swap seats with her so she could sit with her children (teenagers) We refused and they sat in assigned seats. Then they tried the same spiel on the flight to Orlando and it didn`t work out for them again. They wanted to get seats together but not pay for them
We had several legs of flights one trip when our kids were 7, 9, and 14. Some legs didn't have assigned seating at all and on some, the only seats left when booking were spread randomly around the plane. So we just sat as near as we could to the littlest ones (never asked anyone to move) and just let the folks sitting next to them know where we were in case they needed us.
Total non-issue. The kids had a great time feeling like they were on an adventure, the people next to them got a kick out of them (they're inordinately hilarious) and complimented them and us as we deplaned, and the oldest came home with a book her seatmate had gifted her. 10/10 would do again.
Thanks for sharing your wonderful experience! Sometimes, the unexpected moments can turn into the best memories!
Oh my word, leave stroller mom alone!!!! Poor baby. CP Karen needs to go away. Far, far away, like far away from civilization!
I stand with Stroller Mom and all breastfeeding mothers. You have every right to feed your child wherever you need to.
If I were in that situation, I probably would have moved to another seat.
Big deal, congratulations! You handled the situation like a pro.
Thank goodness for Park Hero! We need more people like him who are willing to stand up for what's right.
good for you for not giving in!!!
I bet Karen is already drafting a complaint letter to the airline CEO.
NTA for sure. You paid for that seat and Karens actions were completely unacceptable.
You did the right thing by standing your ground.
Thank you, Park Hero, for standing up for what's right. You're a true hero.
This story warms my heart. It's amazing how a community can come together to support someone in need.
The AI that wrote this doesnt know they dont allow knitting needles on airplanes.
This story fills me with hope for the future. We can create a more inclusive and accepting society if we all do our part.
I am surprised Karen didn't rip the blanket away
How does having OP give up his seat get her family sitting together.
Expecting someone to give up their seat for a family to sit together may not always be met.
Yeah. Wouldn't they then have to convince Nana Nononsense to give up hers, too?
Karens behavior was really unacceptable.
I can't believe someone would actually act like that in public.
st 2: Im glad this story had a positive outcome. Its a reminder that theres still good in the world.
Congrats on the upgrade and kudos for not giving in to Karen.
I can't believe someone would be so entitled and disrespectful! Good riddance!
backup dancer 😂😂
This story gives me hope that we can create a world where mothers feel empowered to feed their babies without fear of judgment.
NTA for sure! Karen went too far. Congrats on the upgrade!
If my 20 plus year working in the age care sector taught me me anything it would be NEVER pee off a sweet ol Nanna
I'm so proud of the people who came to Stroller Mom's defense.
Maybe this experience will teach Karen a lesson about humility and respect.
Karen and her family can book their seats together in the first place. I get the impression they booked too close to the day to get three seats together. I love No-Nonsense Knitting Nana.
So stressed! However, I understand why you were so adamant. Some people really need to calm down.
