The way you pronounce St Athan upset me every time 😂 cool video and reenactment of RAF history, similar story to the fly through of Tower Bridge by a rogue pilot in a Hunter
At the end of 1982 into 1983 the RAF serviced and repaired the Sea Harriers and GR3s after the Falklands. The runway at ST Athan has a perimeter track that civilian vehicles can use including a double decker bus. On the traditional beat up on return to the base a sea Harrier frightened the living daylights out of an old lady by zapping past at full speed being below the level of the top deck. He refused to return for his bollocking, Mortimer was he name if I remember correctly!

I saw the very last US F-14 takeoff from Tinker AFB Oklahoma (and second last landing) to Davis Monthan boneyard. I was stationed at Tinker and was maintenance on E-3 AWACS at the time.

I spent a week at an Air Cadet camp at St. Athan. One of my most enjoyable. We worked on Tornado’s stripping and building them. Mid week, one was ready to go and we went out between the two big hangers and indeed he flew this F3 Tornado between the hangers about level with the roof I guess. Long before we had smartphones!
So yes, this indeed happened many times. Circa 1984 for me.
