    Thank you, the trick I later found out if you want to keep the exact same file, maybe you are using it in other processes is create an empty file in the location and instead of the create file action in power automate, you use the update file action.
    That was a great time saver

    For 3rd step (create csv table), "automated" option doesn't export field names to csv, which is a big MISS by this function. It is cumbersome to manually map all fields 1-by-1if you have a lot of lists or fields ... do you know if there is a good way to automatically export csv with field names w/o manual mapping? thanks

    Nice, straightforward video...thanks. Can you enhance this one a little by explaining how to 'check-in' the file you've just created to a SharePoint folder too. I know not all SP area have Check In enabled but for those that do it would be really useful to understand that part of the automation. I've been trying for ages and can't seem to get anywhere.

      @EssentialExcel  Před rokem

      Hi Paul 👋 after the action to save a file to SharePoint you should have a SharePoint action called “check in file”. Just fill in the fields as required using ItemId from your dynamic content for the created file. Hope that helps? 🙂

    Great video, super helpful. In my list I am using the 'Person or Group' selector for allocating staff to a job. When I bring this data over to the CVS its brings a long string instead of just their name. I can only find fairly complicated solutions online to bring their names only. Do you know anyway to do this? The really annoying part is the export button in Sharepoint does it perfectly, I wish I could just trigger that button to be pressed periodically instead of all this power automating :)

    • @thoreson26
      @thoreson26 Před rokem

      When you're selecting the field to be extracted, you need to look for the "Value" selection. So, say you have a "Manager" column on your list. It's a field that is a "Choice" or "Lookup" type field. If you simply ask the flow to gather "Manager", it will give you the long string. But if you scroll down the list (or search for "Manager Value"), it will pull in only the actual value. Hope this helps.

    Im tryingto book a session with you but the site is giving me an error when I try to enter payment info.
    I put together a power automate flow to do the following:
    1. When a new email arrives with subject line "XYZ",
    2. Save the attachment (CSV) in onedrive (using create file action)
    3. Get the CSV data and UPSERT the data to a sharepoint list.
    The problem Im having is in the parse JSON step.
    Im getting the following error and not sure why:
    [
    {
    "message": "Invalid type. Expected Object but got Array.",
    "lineNumber": 0,
    "linePosition": 0,
    "path": "",
    "schemaId": "#",
    "errorType": "type",
    "childErrors": []
    }

      Hello. In the action of “get items” for sharepoint list, in advanced options in field “order by” enter “ID desc” (to present your list in descending order) then in next field “top count” enter “1” to only retrieve the top row aka last item added to sharepoint list :)

      Hello Xavier 👋 by default ‘Get Items’ is limited to 100 rows (apologies as I didn’t think to include in video). If you click the three dots in the top right corner of ‘Get Items’ action, settings, then you can increase the threshold. Hope that makes sense?

      Hi Matt, yes can see what you mean and combining all files into a single file will be a future video.
      For time being the below video may be of use to you which demonstrates how you can combine all files using Power Query. I was using Excel in the example but will reflect in Power BI. Only change would be referencing SharePoint rather than OneDrive to source files.
