Brief is life, eternal the need to preserve it.
The candle will burn twice as long
when cleared from imperfections.

Immutability of the body, perpetuation of the reign.
The dawn of a glorious age.
A fortified throne, exalted above the emperor,
set on the graves of inferior generations.
The fleshly form has stagnated,
stunted in its growth,
failed to realize its potential
as an instrument of eternal use.
Rearrange the cells,
rewrite the human genome in calligraphy.
Spin the sequences of human code into different threads.
The agility of the gods, the stability of the planets,
the capacity to outlive creation.
The form will outshine the soul in its grace,
Bronzed are the footprints and gilded the case.
Cures for the plague of aging
have graciously embalmed the flesh
but vented its fumes towards the mind.
The fleshly form has stagnated,
