- Hornby's Class 06 shunter is a basic model and uses the same chassis as Smokey Joe and other 0-4-0s. I fit a DCC digital decoder along with a stay alive to improve performance.

Just stumbled across your channel, John. Absolutely delighted that my DCC products are useful to you. Keep up the great work with the channel. You've got a new sub! :)
Thanks! They make life easier that's for sure!
Hi mate
Full respect to you
I can't do this cuz of my health issues
So full respect to anyone who does
Am sure this will help someone out there
We all have different ways of doing things
Thanks for taking the time to do this video
Keep safe arp
Thanks Adi!
@@MessingaboutwithModels sorry I can't add much
Its certainly made a difference to the speed. Looks easy to do as well.
Thanks!
excellent video, good clear explanation; as a complete noobie to dcc, could I ask is it possible to improve even further the slow crawl to make it even smoother?
can you use a 4 pin or 6 pin on this train or is it just a 8 pin that works with this train. thanks for the great guidance in your video it really helps. you got another sub
Theres nothing stopping you doing that - I fitted an 8-pin socket, but yuo could have used a 4 or 6 pin socket instead.
Hi mate, nice vid, did you get round to doing the lighting on this one?
Not yet - but the lamps from DCC concepts (their red/white lamps are tiny!) are in the project box
Please what make is the socket?
This particular one is from Strathpeffer Junction - www.strathpefferjunction.com/
Typically my Hornby 06 has a different method of connection where the motor has no wire and sits directly on to the pickups so no dcc for that one. ah well try another.
That sounds like the older version of 0-4-0 chassis.
@@MessingaboutwithModels I did find another video of how to do it, sounds a bit more involved but hey a challenge doesn'y hurt anyone.
