Any OG's still alive watching this in 2020? I'm with you bro, I'm a survivor of desert storm, conflict Vietnam, and shellshock. The new kids won't know but we'll always remember! Edit: can't believe I forgot medal of honor lol
I remember playing Desert Storm with a good friend on his PS2. Until I got my own copies of the Conflict games. Man, good times. I met a different neighborhood kid in a different city in Denver. I learned he liked Conflict and we played Vietnam.
I never write such things but this is just holy for me. Recently I watched a top songs video and found Paint it Black. I was like wow, i know this song, it sounds so familiar. As I searched and listened, I noticed, it is the song of the game i am looking over 1 year for. This game is the only game I played about 8 -10 years ago with my dad. He died nearly 2 years ago. This is one of my best memories with him. Thank you very much.
i used to play this all night with my dad and desert storm and i sometimes play it alone and it brings back good times. my dad is a schizophrenia and lives in psychosis and the works, saw him once he didn't even recognize me. sorry about your loss.
I can relate to every part of this comment. Grew up bonding with my dad big time over this game. And he passed away in 2014 and u heard paint it black and i was like no I know that from something important. And had to dig deep in my memories to remember this game
Lol same! I hear the song and a vague memory of the game comes through but i couldnt figure out the name till i googled “paint it black, game song” and boom conflict vietnam showed up.. the one thing i remember the most was dying to that tank in the mission where you go to a base. No matter what i did i couldnt get past the tank. Kid me gave up and i only now know that i could hide in the sandbags to avoid the tank fire
Picked it up last week for 10 dollars, started playing it with my nephew, tell him not to run straight in....leeroy Jenkins. I used to play with my dad all night, my mom would yell at him that I can't stay up playing video games on school nights. He went fully insane and lives in a schizophrenic fantasy world, I don't talk to him anymore but it is good times.
I remember when I was about 7-8 I got my ps2. 2 months ago I didn’t have any games but then my mother brought 4 games including this one; and this was the first shooter I officially played in my life
man its crazy so many people really value this series passionately. Would love to hear from pivotal game devs nowadays. I know there was some unfinished conflict games/stuff that never got released. or just hear them talk about their experiences.
I REALLY miss playing this game on the og Xbox console. Thankfully I can still get it on pc, but it just won't feel the same. I'm still gonna play it again at some point anyways because it's SO good and nostalgic that I wish I could go back and relive the part of my childhood that had this game with it
The tank mission had me beat lol as a kid i couldnt get past the tank that kept killing me over and over 😂i always used ragman because he has that leader vibe i liked as a kid
It would be very interesting if some publisher did a remaster of that game on HD graphics and improved some things like gameplay for example. I would definitely buy because this game is really cool, if not the best of the franchise!
I'm a little suspicious to say that I am a true fan of this theme whether in movies, series or games... It's as if I am experiencing everything that war provided to American society in the 1960s. Conflict Vietnam really needs no introduction because it is one of the best shooting games of all time (by the way), but they could have made a way for the player from time to time to return to the base after certain missions and perform some minigames such as: training shooting, interacting with teammates, drinking beer or smoking listening to R&B or Rock 'n Roll, having sex with some Vietnamese girls and among other things. But even so, this game is amazing!
One of the hardest games I've ever played. I'm only on mission 4, Bad Moon, and I'm getting my ass kicked. It's a good kind of pain, though, I loved this game when I was a kid and I still love it now!
Well that's it boys we made it. Well that was the last time we were all together. Junior's time was up and he went home, but his war was only just beginning, word was he joined the black panthers six months later and was killed in a shoot out with the FBI in long beach California all that fighting in vietnam just to get shot down by his own goverment, rest in peace brother. Hoss signed on for another tour and after that I was told by some drunken CIA spoop that he'd moved on to fighting louser in Cambodia I guess from there he just drifted from warzone to warzone, always looking for that combat thrill. Ragman got home to an empty house and divorce papers, I wrote to him but he just seemed to vanish until one day I got word he was living in a cabin in the Rockies with his dog po chi man alone in the mountains he seemed to have found his peace he desrved it. And me? Well I joined the ER in New York central my expirence with gunshot wounds was highly valued as the inner cities were torn apart by drugs and guns I married and raised a family a respected doctor but even now part of me is still in Vietnam where Doc was born Cherry died the war may be over for the generals and politicians but for those who fought the war goes on every time we shut our eyes and try to sleep, but fuck it, it don't mean a thing right?
If someone could remaster this in like an unreal engine, I would personally marry you. Thanks.
seconded
Thirded if that's a thing
Fifthded?
I'll do it 😐

It's 2008, I'm 9 years old, I pick this up from the game store for ps2, hear this song and immediately fall in love with the Rolling Stones.

Literally the best intro into a game to this day still. In my opinion
Paint it Black and White rabbit still remind me of this game every time I hear it
I remember when I was about 7-8 I got my ps2. 2 months ago I didn’t have any games but then my mother brought 4 games including this one; and this was the first shooter I officially played in my life
