do you think your patches for iridium will sound as good on quantum ?
Do you think it is a good first synth to learn synthesis on?
Incredibly nice to see you exploring this! Great fun!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Jack, thank you for being the best at reviewing these products!
Thanks for the kind words! Glad you are enjoying the videos 🤘
Really stellar playing mate. Thanks for the video
Sounds amazing! For its price, I'd expect nothing less. Jack's shredding is impressive too!
What a great small peak into the iridium! Thanks for sharing! I can definitely see/hear the potential of this synth. The downside to the iridium I've seen so far is that although it's duo-timbral, it only has one set of stereo outs. That said, I may be getting this synth after reviews start coming in.
Huge, all encompassing, gigantic sound and it fits the budget!
Jack is the best. Just the right amount of talking and a great piano player. I want to see Jack do a synth jam session.
Very nice demo. Thanks!!!!
Loving these presentations.. more pls
Agreed!! Thanks for your videos, all of them!!!
Thanks for tuning in, glad your enjoying them!
Love the Junkie XL reference. Junkie XL's album Saturday Teenage Kick (1997) is one of my favorite albums. Fans of The Prodigy will dig it.
Just wanted to say, thanks Jack, for your sterling efforts!
Thanks shapes2000 for the comment, always fun to review incredible products like this!
Sounds amazing!
You should deffo keep this editing style you have in this video. Awesome sounds and hilarious cuts!
We have been trying something different recently & glad you're enjoying it! We will keep it up.
Jack: You Rock. Someday can you do a video of how you connect the Keylab, Iridium, and your interface. Thanks.
That's some EXCELLENT keyboard noodling jack.
Thanks for the comment Hakan L!
If mine doesn't ship soon I might explode. But videos like these help a bunch. Great patch demo!
Great, totally!!!! Very strong synth for cosmical music.
My Gosh, you know how to start a video! I need one, it's expensive but it actually sounds expensive!
We've all been blown away by the quality of this thing! Thanks for tuning in & glad you enjoyed the episode.
You are such a great host. You deserve so many more subs! love your videos!
The new edit style 👍
I need this.
I 💘 these patches
Cool video bud!
Thanks mate 😍
Me: "Damn, I might get one of those, looks fun"
Google: "That'll be £2000 please"
Me: *closes tab*
ugggg! yh i was going to goole it but never again will i google it, never!.... ok im going to google it
🤣😂 That's exactly what I just said and did..
Jack - Keyboard Mr par excellence.
EPIC! 🚀
Thanks for stopping by! 🤘
jack looks like he's just about to go duck hunting. regardless his playing is spot on and love his reviews
You're vids are hilarious!
This is like a physical Omnisphere unit.
?
@@dirkkeersmaekers4343 it's a vst for digital audio workspaces like FL studios or abelton
It's better
Basically
It’s got a big, room filling sound. I wonder how nicely it will play in the mix with other instruments. It already sounds so complete.
I've owned mine for about 3 months, and I'm still only scraping the surface. It's capable of subtle and massive "wall of sound" type patches. It's a deep, challenging instrument that's easy to learn and tough to master.
The sampler evolves it into an entirely different world, and kernel mode is nuts.
all very nice, but good luck when you try to sit it in the mix, you will need a separate God to help you, the frequency curtain will prevent it...
I'll say it sounds amazing.
I love my Quantum, and this is near enough the same thing in desktop form. Im hearing the same thing with some of these presets, they're more of a showcase than actual useful/musical presets. Mostly far too crazy or busy to fit into a mix. I wouldn't let that put anyone off though. Take it as no more than a showcase of what it can do. The best part of this thing is creating your own sounds.
Full of hopes, thnx for sharing insides. What i hear ppl playing presets not exciting, but as soon as artful dude makes something, it starts shining.
Problem is people expect amazingly deep synths for the money when they actually just want the sounds they like. This is why Dreadbox units have a big sweetspot as they know what their audience wants. Some of these big synth powerhouses are like Microsoft Word, people only use 10% of the functionality yet each person uses a different 10%
@Dinofo Yes trance sounds are usually pretty simple like supersaws and trance pads. This could do those with ease but also much more.
@Dinofo Its hard to say as they could all do trance sounds easily. It more comes down to what other types of sounds do you need? Peak+Pro3 will let you do a much more analog type sound than Iridium, but Iridium has all sampling and granular engines that Peak+Pro3 could never come near. Honestly trance sounds are quite basic for most synths, so I think you'll be able to do that no problem with whatever you chose.
@Dinofo Iridium can do a lot of what Peak can do if you only look on specs. I have a Summit and a Quantum and use them both side by side so I know a bit about these devices. The filter in Summit/Peak is its biggest strength and adds so much body to the sound. Quantum or Iridium won't ever sound quite as analog (even with Quantums actual analog filter, its just not the same as Summit's filter), but it can still sound great. Its just a different sound. However if I want something really unique sounding and want to really have fun with sound design then Quantum wins hands down. Its just endless options, and WAY more in depth wavetable engine than Peak/Summit. They're both incredible devices in their own way so really no bad choice here.
i don't seem to hear all those huge paddy sounds you do with the iridium than with the quantum. can the quantum do all those patches ?
I started salivating uncontrollably. The Iridium Keyboard is my dream.
Did you go back and explore preset #12? And if so, how was your NHS visit?
Besides being a crazy deep synthesizer, this thing is like the ultimate hardware sampler. I would really, really like to see an in depth video demonstrating its capacity for sample wave-sculpting and manipulation.
I don’t think you can actually sample from it, only load them from usb
@@alanwomack9948 it has a pair of 1/4" inputs for sampling and live processing
Id love an autosampler in this for multisamples!!!!
Well...this would make a great first synth for me...incredible!
from 00:12 to 1:00 sold me on this 100%
Well got mine (not from these guys in the USA) and after a few hours the left part of the screen started fading out, the screen became less responsive, the Particle button on Osc 1 was broken and the rest of the Osc buttons barely worked. Sucks dropping almost $3k on a synth and having to return it after a few hours, and they aren't sure when I will get my new one either.
That intro is so hilarious 🤣🤣🤣
You should have plugged the Hydrasynth in and you could use polyphonic aftertouch with it
Now ive fully watched the video, its a true synth, not an emulator(as far as the presets go) if i'd had it i would get down with the ADSR rather than filters...too much animation to make it musical...i could see a little frustration but i reckon it has huge potential....
Can anyone tell me if the Roland Fantom 2019 is capable of creating similar or same sounds as this synthesizer? Since I am not a sound designer I was wondering if the power of the fantom can acheive this level of sound manipulation. Thank you
Lol naa, no comparison.
No, no wawetable, fantom is best for married party
@@yavamaystudio8045 🤣
Wow what controller is that
This beast or the XT... Can't decideeeeee
Why doesnt he ever manipulate the waveform directly on the touch-screen?
How does anyone with one of these actually get around to creating music? I'd just play with the presets for days.
Like pretty much every video of synths, people just play a patch/preset for a few seconds and would love to hear a song or part of a song using them.
Look harder m.czcams.com/video/DjUM_DTiggU/video.html
You know that IS playin music too right? ;)
@@reallivebluescat its all good end of the day
Yes make music please...for me its this new model Waldorf god only for more polyphony voices and more user friendly. This model is very god for non-creativ people...I don't like this new model. Old model synth by Waldorf is better.
the slo mo caught 😳 😅
how many sounds preset . if you pls
128?
After spending some time with this synth, i cannot say i am impressed by the sound. Yes, synth looks gorgeous, there are tons of options, display is beautiful BUT it sounds like software. I share the same opinion for Prophet X. I just dont hear tightness in bottom end and warmth in midrange. Everything is way too sharp for my ears. The only modern synth i have tested and which really impressed me is still John Bowen Solaris.
most modern digital synths are software. nobody complains about the kronos sounding rubbish
This is what worries me….
Sounds like 'software' ? what do you mean, it's 'software' with hardware routing, it's nothing more than that. The sound is no better than 'Omnisphere' for example, but they will sell anything to people, good name, good chassis and sold!!!!
@@chrissneider7550 @chrissneider7550 John Bowen Solaris is also similar philosophy, yet, sounds stellar.
Pro 3 vs Rev2 vs Summit anyone ? (i just want some advice and i have turned reddit against me with all my questions)
I know that I'm the minority, but I love the pads. They're still useful.
Giggity
Nice, but when I fart into a giant reverb, it sounds nice too. Let's hear some dry sounds!
Good point...
😂 this is funny!
😅🤣😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
That first patch sounded like the intro fro "Beat it" Michael Jackson
Dayum
bro what a great opening riff haahahah wow i am SOLD!!!!
Perhaps it's just me, but a lot of the time I was just thinking D50....
Yes, the D-50 was an outstanding synth, too. But the Iridium is lightyears ahead of it.
and I was thinking Blofeld with all these metallic sounding patches. Sold my Blofeld because it would never really fit into any mix.
"No velocity on pads", "some form of granular"?!?! No much deep knowledge of this krasy electric sperm box, but it's fun Jack :) Too bad no one from reviewers can go beyond ambient and few first (overdone) patches. I have to buy it to hear how it really sounds, lol. Cheers!
Where is the "2 week get to know you" video?
Still looking for the 2 week video.
Dear Santa...
Over 1600 patches.. barely scratched the surface...
Well the reverb kinda sucks but otherwise a very interesting box. I wish I could hear it dry, or through my Kronos effects which are very nice.
Quality sound, but $2500 is way overpriced for Serum/Omnisphere in hardware form...
It's not actually. If you sample and use the granular engine and know what you're doing it's sheer bliss.
If Serum or Omni were in hardware form you wouldnt pay much less. Most of us dont use even 10% of the capability of these synths and are spoilt.
I wish they make a Omnisphere o a serum Hardware.. it would sell millions units
I am so intrigued by the sound design potential... but I just don't think the tone of it sounds good at all --except for a couple tantalizing moments. Just me?
Hm Well this isnt the 80s anymore... there are many synth engines in this device, if you dont like the tone you can just change it
VST in a box
Well ... there’s nothing wrong with VSTs. Unfortunately, I don’t like this VST.
@@bigboxerable Agree
DK Donkey Kong 😂
What else would DK stand for... ;)
DK stands for Dirk Krause, who was a member of the german Band Armageddon Dildos.
Bonnie Scotland. Quids in. CZcams
I'd rather have my Dune 3
all I hear is pad movie sound track type sounds
That was just the first 20 out of 1000 patches shipped as standard. I'm sure there will be something for everybody!
You showing preset to slowly, my iPad with Iwaldorf sounds better
less chatter. less antics. more sounds
Does this dude know how to not be annoying?
I cancelled my preorder and you should too
Tell me why
Hydrasynth not even close to be comparable to this beast. If he cancelled it means he had the money.
@@Sydalesis Source? Your use of the word 'beast' certainly inclines me to think you have never used an ASM Hydrasynth.
8 voice VA is the source
Spud Chuffington jones How does „value“ even matter with something like a musical or creative tool? You think Matisse bought the budget paint because it had better value?
Yet another demo ruined by talking. Very annoying/unfunny as well.
yeah, these guys are nuts!
Too much random talking ....
