- The kitchen renovations at our forever home continue. Now that we've got the new countertops installed, I can start installing the kitchen wall tile. I've decided to tile this backsplash up to the ceiling! I've got 3 days to get this installed before we host a big birthday party at the house! As a stay-at-home mom, I try to work my renovations into school hours, and nap times, whenever my husband is available to help with the kids! Let's see if my do-it-yourself tile turns out as I envision it!

I like your renovations. Great job. I have a cousin named Lena that is a realtor too, that's neat. Her dad my uncle Kelly can renovate homes. He's a perfectionist when it comes to getting his work done. Once my other uncle Gary, who isn't that handy but a great teacher, went to paint uncle Kelly's wall. Gary got done with the wall and when Kelly saw it he took a large spackle tool and scrapped all the paint off and repainted the wall. It was so funny hearing the story from uncle Gary. He's a great teacher and story teller but not a great painter.

New fan! And I love the tile work I would do the inside of the window one of the taupe colors and YES ! A piece of wood on the range hood to make it the focal point of the room that still gives thst European farm house vibe

Although I like black, I think it would be really a longer investment to go with the medium to dark taupe! And to tie the windows in the doors, you’re going to have to tie that together I am a minimalist at heart, but I took the plunge and painting my doors and floorboards and trim all the same color! But after living with it for a year, I am now going to have my windows and French doors painted a t taupe medium to dark color! Of course, my best friend happens to be a decorator and she told me I would soon hate having the ceiling walls and all the same color. Lol but what you’re doing is lovely and good luck to you. it looks fabulous. Sincerely, Gerri D’Agostino can’t wait to see the next episode.

No don’t change the hood. It is perfect as is. Maybe a lime wash. But I love it. Very classic looking. And agreed with just beautiful white trim. I love how that would look. I am doing my backsplash behind my stove and this helped me gain confidence. Just found your channel and loving it so far ❤

YIKES when you mix grout wear a mask!! That stuff cannot come out of your lungs, it is forever there inside your lung tissue causing issues.

Tiles are too shiny reflecting lights
If they were in matte would look way better
But non the less turned out great

Windows could be a retro light green or dark pine green.

Den Fliesenkleber nicht auf die Fliese, sondern an die Wand und zwischen die einzelnen Fliesen kleine "Abstandshalter", das sind kleine Kreuze aus Plastik, damit immer ein gleicher Abstand zwischen den Fliesen ist.
Did you soak the zellige glazed tile for 1-2 minutes before applying? Did you do this step off camera?

These are ceramic tiles from Spain and they are not handmade. The only handmade ones are the original Zellige tiles made in Marroco.
