- Join us for our first visit to Coney Beach Porthcawl for a great value fun park and more new rides!
Another new park for us to visit, as we finalise our roadtrip on the South Wales coast or Porthcawl. Here we find Beach Party, a KMG Afterburner, Waltzers, Sizzler, Dodgems, Ghost Train and Theo takes on his first ever Sticky Wall Rota!
We visited after 5pm, where wristbands were £11.50 for 4 hours or 3 tokens per ride (50p per token) on select days, but they also do wristbands and tokens through the day. We'll take you for a full tour in this vlog and on some rides too!
Parking was available close by, for Free. The park also had an arcade on offer too.
Please note, we gained permission to film here via the park owners and security staff. Please rename your Jump and Smile Frog ride to Spider Hulk lol.
Please note we use specific equipment to film on rides. We strongly suggest that you don't use your phone on rides.

It's still a good fair ,with one of the oldest ghost trains in the UK , but in the 1970s and 80s it was amazing. A big water chute at the front , a wooden roller coaster at the rear of the fair called the figure 8 , an indoor water ride called around the world a monorail boati
Sounds good! I think the rollercoaster layout was one of the typical early styles. There were 2 in the Blackpool area

Nice vlog. Glad you enjoyed porthcawl. Barry has a few bigger rides but porthcawl is the place i been going all my life. So in 2 years when it shuts. Im going to be gutted .

So happy to see afterburners on the channel. Such awesome machines but such a shame we dont have any traveling ones.
You haven't ridden the fastest round up till you have ridden Derry's Energizer. That thing tops out phones G meters lol

Beach Party and Miami Madness were always my favourites.
Years ago there was a roller coaster called Megablitz which got the dubious name of Whiplash. You can probably imagine why.

The Bell on the train ride probably came off the Hillbilly shooting range that was in the arcade at the front of the fair, it is still there but was boarded over. Maybe it will be uncovered when they flatten the place
Most of the rides belong to Pat Evans (beach party, twister, waltzer, dodgem, Miami etc), he used to travel a few of them but they’ve all spent most of there life at porthcawl coney beach.

The Waltzer was churches one of the fastest ones around 😅Pat Evans Miami Dodgems twister waltzer kids rides sticky wall paratrooper jump and smile Philip Stevens your a month late for the breakdance 😢

That park is ran by one of the Danters isn't it? If its closing it is a shame because it seems a lovely busy little park. I knew Theo would be ok on the Rotor 😂 I thought Abbots Superbob was fast but that on was insane 😳 😂😂

A boating lake with boats for 2 people to ride in and a big fun house at the rear . Sadly all gone now .

Yeah , it's sad because it was amazing. I'm glad at the time I was a kid it was at its best . Even had a dinosaur park and a model village at the side of the fair . Only 3 original rides left . The trains at the rear , the ghost tain and that big slide .

Who did you contact for permission to film as when you contact them about a complaint the never reply. For years porthcawl had a lot better rides than barry but the last couple of years they've been going down hill and since covid the park have seemed to be more for young kids. On half price nights they don't give you long ride cycles so I wonder if they turned the waltzer speed down as it looked like it was running slower than it normally does.
Contacted their social team via Facebook... I spoke to security when I arrived too

The Big Dipper was the reason that Coney Beach was down-graded ... it caused a death in the late 1990s ... BUT, the 2023 season is the last regular stint ... the land has been sold ... likely the 2024 season will be ultimate "farewell" as 2025 it's going to be levelled, & there will be flats/houses on that land from 2027/28.
I think Theo won the dodgem battle 5-3 but the scores vanished so might be wrong.
