Jess, this has been so powerful in so many ways. I have been following your channel for years and I am so happy this came up on my feed. What stuck with me most is “Something has to die for us to live”. Thank you to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for the ultimate sacrifice. Oh Jess and Myaha thank you for all you do. I’ve been a fan since day one of Roots and Refuge. You gave me the confidence to garden in my backyard which over the years became a farm with 30 tomato plants 15 pepper plant, 7 squash, pickles,radishes etc etc etc. I hope to see a’ll in person one day.

Thank you, Jess and Miah. That was really awe-inspiring, and it was what I needed to break my deadlock this spring here in Vermont. I have been very uninspired to get out, clean up my property after 2 major floods and GET MY GARDEN going! But today, after watching this, I dug the first row to plant lettuce and arugula, and then walked around and assessed the refuse piles, and stray junk that must be picked up and disposed of, and did some work there. The sun came out for a while, though I know we will get more rain.I felt like I had broken through an invisible barrier in my soul. You made me cry, because I miss my land and garden, and I had taken it away from myself in my head. Today, I felt hope again. I bless you always!💕🌻
You inspire me so much, I sat and watched your show and as I'm telling you this I'm crying because it made me cry and made me feel so good. I'm not the smartest person in the world and no I did not graduate from high school either. Got pregnant, and I'm 60 years old now. I've been through a whole lot and been hurt divorced and remarried now for 18 years. I have high anxiety extreme but I love my gardening and I love everything you say I'm still trying to figure out some of the words you're saying and understand the meanings of them but this is fantastic. You are such a blessing to me thank you so much thank you. I don't talk much on it any of your stuff and don't say very much hardly ever. But for some reason I just want to reach out until you thank you
I haven’t had time to watch lately but let me tell you how much this touched my heart especially with a recent decision that I had to make. Just know that you are touching people’s lives and inspiring them. I love the Farmers Table and looking forward to many more garden tours! May God continue to bless you as you keep him first.

Hi jess, in my life I've lost my parents, four brothers, many family members and many pets.
The way I feel about their losses is "to be grateful for the time that I got to spend with that being."
I find it is easier to deal with death this way.
Who knew I would come to learn about permaculture but end up listening to Jess teach the gospel and completely wreck and bless my morning. Thank you for posting this and thank you Jess for stepping into your calling and sharing with us!!

I also wanted to say that no one in our area , San Antonio. So I wanted to do a community garden and no one in that area would volunteer or help I kept posting on Facebook that I wanted to do this. So finally I open up the front east way area in front of my home to a big huge garden many vegetables greens roots vegetables lots of gardening for anyone to come up and be able to get some vegetables that they may need for their dinner. So that's what I've done people stop and look which I think is awesome. So then in my yard I have many gardens lots of them. I wish I could show you pictures. And yes I have a pig and chickens You have a wonderful day and you need to rest probably just as I do I'm not saying that to be mean I'm saying that you need to take a break every now and then.
Roots and Refuge is so inspiring. I've been gardening for a few years and Jess got me through a lot of it.
Love and agree with Something has to die in order for us to live. Jess and Miah I learn so much and my spirit is renewed every time I listen to you teach and preach. Your ministry through homesteading is a gift thank you.

JESS . My sons dad died when he was 2. He was the only permaculture person i ever met. I never met another who doesnt think im mad fir it. Im alone now my son moved on . Its ha4d to steward land alone , but i try ❤

Jess mentioned not graduating high school and meeting snooty pinkies-up fools through social media. Neither did I graduate high school. I dropped out after forever being first or second in my classes. Anyone that thinks their PhD and their income make them superior to most others are the real morons.
Follow the path God makes for you. I can build a house, the whole thing, from the hole in the ground to the lightning rod. I'm a master mechanic, a pretty good marksman, an amateur farmer as well as chemist, and a class A machinist. What I can't do is live for money and use it to manipulate others.
I am also an introvert who is struggling to tolerate 95% of society.
Go Jess! You are a marvel!
