Thanks for this video. I just had this installed and have a couple of questions.
- How can I change the Remote Start timer length? Mine is set to 15 but I'd rather 25 like yours. I don't see the option in the remote settings.
- Is there a separate module to install for the temperature? When I try to get the vehicle temp, it just says "Fail".
- My truck "chirps" when I lock, unlock, or remote start. I'd rather it just chirped for the remote start. Can that be changed?

The remote start run time and confirmation chirps has to be programmed by the technician. In order to see temperature, the thermistor sensor needs be plugged in. Ask the install shop that did it.
I got Compustar Q9 installed in my Camaro and i recommend it to anyone searching for the right product. I will also recommend BestBuy for purchase and installation for those not mechanically inclined like myself. I think they only carry Compustar and Viper kits but depending on witch kit you get it will come with FREE installation. I may be the area where i live but I was quoted at the shops around me and it was between 800$ and 1,200$. With BestBuy i was quoted at 449$ (487$ with tax) for parts and installation, if i didn't get the Q9 upgrade i would of payed 300$ give or take for the basic kit. What makes it even more worth it is all kits installed by BestBuy or Geek Squad comes with a LIFETIME WARRANTY for any issues pertaining to the hardware they installed. When you make an appointment you drop your car off for 4 hours at the longest.
That's a really short installation time for very little money. I'm easily triple that price (factor in, I'm in Canada). And I take minimum the day to install a security and remote starter system.

I was wondering if you can let me know if the new T13 Remote can perform Priority Unlock & 2nd Unlock with the CMX brain?
I know the older T12 was able to do this still, as well as Aux 3-7. But apparently the T13 cant do those extra aux outputs, so curious on the Priority unlock now too...
Id like to carry over my Excalibur alarmcs functionality I had set up on my truck to a new modern Compustar system. I had Priority Unlock unlocking my doors, 2nd Unlock unlocking my tailgate, and Trunk Output opening my toolbox in the bed.
Ive studied the manuals to research how to do this, with the cmx module at least. Using connector 10 (lock accessory harness plug), and programming the right POCs with an OP500.
Appreciate anything you may be able to share on the T13.

Far as I know, all the Compustars can do extra auxiliaries. Priority door unlock, I only give the feature if the factory locking system already does it.
@AnthonyJ350 Cool, I'll have to play with the T13 when I finally get it and see if the extra auxiliaries are able to be controlled! I was told that the remote needs to have the "F" Function button to access Aux 3 to 7 (Aux 1 and 2 are accessible however).
I could do some cool things with the extra auxiliaries. Remote tailgate popper, Open/Close the Sunroof and roll down Titan back window, Remote gas door popper...
And I hope the T13 will do priority unlock. I Will use it to unlock both side doors, then utilize 2nd Unlock to unlock the Tailgate separately when I intentionally want to
That actually needs to be programmed in the Install side. Once the Tech flashes the module they can change does settings for you, some are lazy and just go on Default part of it or they just didn't want to do extra work at times. Yes all Compustar have Aux outputs, whoever says no they lying

I do recommend this remote. Used it the past few installs and the performance is really good. Only down side is the battery isn't rechargeable, uses a AAA for operation. Not a big deal.
I'd love to know how to disable the chirp when you lock and unlock it it's super annoying.

How can i unlock all the doors instead of just the drivers door

Hey I have a 2018 cx5 and when I first got it instaled the car would stay on after opening the door and I’m guessing it would read the key. But it stopped doing that. I also have a 2021 Honda pilot that once I open the door it turns off, anyway I can change it so it can stay on if I have the key fob on me.
Did you ask the shop you had everything installed at? Some Hondas do secure take over, but a lot of newer push to starts, have to shut down when the door is opened.
Does this remote have keyless entry?
If the vehicle is equipped and it's hooked up.
No, only the T13 and R5 include with keyless entry.
@@hunterscooters5101 Any Compustar brain can be hooked up to keyless or power door locks. Are referring to proximity?
One question so when i get the first shock my remote wont make a noise and when i first got the alarm set up it used to work now will only see the notification if i press lock or unlock but the remote wont make a noise only alarm on the car works any way i can change this?
I would check the programming of the Compustar brain itself for notifications. Will have to bring to a dealer.

You need to install a Compustar brain into the vehicle.

I got a problem where it just shows that the car is unlocked. the other remote starter works perfectly fine ( the one without a screen ). anybody got the same problem? how to fix

You can turn of confirmation chirps from "Siren" or programmer.
How do I uninstall the entire system? I bought a car that has it and I would like to remove it from the car. I can't seem to find any information on how to do it.
Why do you want to remove it though? It's nice to have.

You have to wire the vehicle to the auxiliary outputs to achieve that feature.

Not if installed properly.

Unfortunately no, you need an air tag of some sort.
Can I replace my current 2WG9R-SP model with Compustar 2WQ9R ?
You have to verify which Firstech controller is installed to see if it's compatible. You may have to install a new cable and antenna.
Does this have a phone app so you van control from phone?
If you add Compustar Drone module to it, you can.
Does it have a panic button ??
Hold the lock button to engage panic feature.
can you turn some of the beeping on the remote off?
Yes you should be able to turn on confirmation sounds

Have to turn the key to ignition or hit the ignition button
When I got in my car the alarm went off and shut off the car...
@@SgtJohnRemairezturn the key first then pedal. If you touch the pedal first it will shut off
how you can change alarm settings with that key
Just the settings shown in the video. All other settings need to be done through a programmer.
I don't like the idea of setting up the door lock/unlock on the engine start button.

@@AnthonyJ350 Could a DAS2 be used on the cm2500 security only model alarms? Is it better then the traditional shock sensor 2 that comes standard?
@@LawMasterTimmy Should be able to. You need to change the setting for the shock sensor to DAS because I believe it defaults to the standard shock sensor.
How to extend the timer
The run time is adjusted in the programmer.

2 if u lost the main one it’s gonna cost you $160 and they give you a smaller one base one for a back up got mines today 🔥
2 typically. One 2-way communication remote and one 1-way.
but is there any way to turn off the sound for the lock/unlock siren?
You can either reprogram the Compustar brain and turn off "confirmation chirps" or you can go into the remote and turn siren "off" or "on" from the features list shown in the video.
@@AnthonyJ350 Ok, and that will still leave the alarm sound on, correct?
@@lonelymusic8607 Yes, but verify. Arm the vehicle with the window open. Leave it for a minute then open the door from the inside to simulate a "break in" and make sure the Compustar activates properly.
Also get familiar with the alarm system. There is a way to turn off your shock sensor. On my older Compustar alarm; once you turn it off, u have to manually turn it back on. On my 2nd vehicle with a 2023 two way Viper system; when I turn off my shock sensor, after arming it. It automatically re arms the shock sensor when I disarm the alarm. It only cancels when I manually do it. Compustar does have the extra features to cancel your siren and re activate it.
Can this replace the older 1 way remote (Compustar 1WG15R-FM) in that older system?
Depends how old if the antenna is compatible.
@@AnthonyJ350 Thanks for replying. I looked at Compustar's website and it seems my antenna, ANT-AP, is not compatible with this remote. And I need the ANT-2WFMX antenna. Do I need to replace the antenna cable/wire as well or just swap out antennas? The "brain" is a FT7200S
@@redrider9224 Yes you'd have to swap the antenna and cable. Verify it will plug in.

@@AnthonyJ350 so I replaced the antenna and remote. Remote starter worked fine for a few days. Then one day my car battery was disconnected accidentally for a couple of hours. After I reconnected the battery, the remote starter will not start the car. All other features work, door locks/unlocks, lights flash, etc. even when I press the starter button it will crank, but the car will not start. Any ideas what’s wrong? I got en error code #8.

I would like to know how to activate it, I have the system in my vehicle but my keys were stolen and I want to activate a control but I don't know how to do it.
You'll want to visit your authorized Compustar dealer.
Valet mode is hard to take off and if valet mode is on remote start will not work and to take of valet mode is difficult with compustar don’t recommend
To get to valet mode hit f button on remote twice and move up and down with unlock and lock buttons use f button to select and hold f button to return to normal home screen
You don't recommend Compustar because of this? It's not even a big deal you can program different ways to activate it too.

So it’s An alarm system not just the remote start
Depends on what you install. Can be either/ or, or both.
That is depending on the Vehicle you going to install it on. Mist 2003 & up requires a Module to bypass the security for remote start. Even so some vehicles with couple of wire control a lot of things via CanBus system which means these units can be installed just for remote start but can also control the stock system plus add security a.k.a alarm. You can only opt out and just get straight remote start only.
Don't recommend there's no siren I just had it installed yesterday.
If you purchase with the "Alarm It" accessory package, it comes with a siren, LED and sensor that does shock, tilt and glass break.
So not sure what you're talking about. Did you purchase a remote starter or combo package with security?
