- I am opening 1986 Fleer & 2003-04 Topps Chrome Basketball Hobby packs with the hopes of finding Michael Jordan and LeBron James rookie cards for our next sports card pack break/unboxing! The Fleer MJ rookie and LBJ Topps Chrome RC are two of the most iconic sports cards. At the National Sports Collectors Convention/NSCC, I was part of an event with Whatnot where we opened these boxes to try and pull those cards! What are some big boxes we should open next?

How about a 1952 Topps high number series wax box?
I’ve been doing this for a very long time and though I worked in authentication for a short time I can’t guarantee it but that box seems very tampered with in multiple ways. Let me know if even 1 Jordan comes out
I see the Jordan’s came out but they are all no bueno. The duplicates were printed what looks like at diff times and Something seems off with the multiples that appeared ?? Idk 🤷♂️

Some collation shenanigans in those packs. Very odd.
Now, whenever I see a BBCE wrap, I assume Steve Hart has already searched the box and replaced anything good in it.
Every pack you open in the 86 Fleer was fire(other then the last pack). Both of the Barkleys are in awesome shape and great centering, and the Hakeem was also in great shape. Not to mention those packs also had Bird and Magic in it. I would def grade those Barkley and Hakeem cards if I was the winner.
No Jordan, but happy we were able to pull some other big cards!

I’ve never opened this stuff before so wasn’t sure how the configuration was supposed to be despite it being odd. Regardless, gonna see what I can find out about all this and will update you guys if I find any info
@@PackmanCards I'm sure that the purchasers of the box have contacted Steve Hart - since there's video evidence that the box was opened on stage and it falls back to Hart to make good on this? Not sure what else "can" be done about it. I'm more than confident you had nothing to do with it.

@@PackmanCards the scammers wouldn’t do that, guess they were lucky to get 3 low grade Jordan’s out of that lol. BBCE improved though no GI Joe cards 😂. Wouldn’t be surprised if the chrome was searched as well.

Those 86FL were odd packs, first 2 were almost identical; third one had several doubles. If you press in you can sometimes see the back sticker name, perhaps look to see if theres 2-3 Jordan back stickers in the box. Nice to get 2 Barkley's. I'm working on signed sets of 86 FL basketball and 91 Desert Shield baseball (partial), with Fleer it's a 1/12 shot at a Jordan RC and 1/11 shot at a sticker of him; so those packs are fire; not a pack buyer but DS cards are better bought direct even though there's over 100 living stars in the set (I have both Ken Griffey Jr cards expected shortly which will finish the part of the set I planned; no Gwynn/Puckett/Bonds but otherwise pretty heavy and if I sell it I can focus, lol.)

Does anyone else think those 86 fleer looked like they were probably gone thru before. Shouldn't they have been sequenced and not have duplicates like that in the same packs?

@@barrywolf2145 Wrong. Every pack was sequential, which is not how this product was produced. The gum fell off everything, there was one pack that had multiple duplicates. Someone went through the box and replaced the key cards with lower grades thinking they would never get found. The idiots didn't think that they needed to repack the cards in the correct order.
It was gone through. This isn't how the product was manufacturered.

That last pack was freaking brutal.
Factory print glitches occurred often with Fleer back in the day. I remember Topps had the same issue with 1986 Hockey packs. You'd occasionally get double cards. The reason you don't see it as much. Alot of these packs are uncommon. Rare. Most people don't open them and if they do they've already been searched. The factory ones have glitches like this one. Double cards. Proper sequence. Where you always see a Larry Bird with a Charles Barkley or Johnny Moore or Chris Mullin. You always see Jordan with Clark Kellogg.
Would love to see you open some older product more often!

I cant believe those Jordan's are 7,7,6. That's definitely psa trying to control pop count. I thought 8 would be the lowest if possible and that last one being a at least a 9. Centering looked pretty good.
The box was repackaged. They put low grade Jordan's in there to make it look good. The problem is they didn't repackage the cards in the correct collation, and were dumb enough to make them all sequential. This was fraud.

100% There is a 66 card parallel sequence to the 86-87 fleet if you do a little googling.
They were put in there on purpose. That box was 100% searched

I’m very late to this card game !! I’ve been watching around two weeks now , but I’m so excited !!! I have a lot of cards that I’ve had for years , and cards I’ve collected in the last 10 yrs . I have no idea what they are worth , I just kept them , just like all the comics I have , but had no idea they would be selling for some of the prices !! I’m trying to figure out what’s worth money & what’s not ; I have a lot of cards I have to look through. I’M A FAN NOW 💯

A close friend bought me a pack of 86 fleer in 2000. Iirc it was $60. Pulled an Isaiah Thomas and is my biggest memory of a pack opening.
Hey Packman, I love your channel and appreciate your love for my Grizzlies. I hate to say it but this box was not authentic. Was the box that you showed in the promo the actual box you opened? The sequencing is all wrong, the cards didn’t always appear pack fresh, and you should never get multiple doubles of the same card in the same pack with 86 Fleer. The way the sheets were cut and packs were assembled simply wouldn’t allow it.

@@PackmanCards The sequence to 86F's has been discussed for years on forums like PSA - finding them in alpha order should've been a big red flag to everyone involved in that rip.
Seems like for the ‘86 packs they ordered the cards alphabetically. Would explain the many dupes, the 4 Johnsons in a row, and the last pack having Terry and Pat Cummings, Cooper, Chambers, Cheeks, all in an row. Thought you would’ve hit Jordan in the J pack you opened :((( sick opening though!

@@PackmanCards definitely not a thing, I’m sure you’re aware now, huge controversy not necessarily because someone lost money because it was a free break but if BBCE can’t authenticate sealed wax properly that’s a huge red flag, since they authenticate packs for PSA and other huge boxes and cases, just imagine how many altered packs and boxes were authenticated as real that were previously searched, whatnot spent big bucks off Goldin Auctions for this box too.
