@@Fearless.cat1209 throughout the performance, the camerawork was pretty bad. you'll notice this if you compare the camerawork with those of their stages on music shows. mnet zoomed out a lot and for long periods of time even though there weren't really major effects on the stage and the transition from face cams and choreo cams were not timed nicely (there were barely any face cams, too). for the unsynced music, it starts in the dance break at 2:54. you might not notice it that much (bc they danced really well) but if you compare it with their dance practice (czcams.com/video/-twhSHNRmvM/video.html), you can see that the music here is slightly delayed which makes a big difference in the performance. hope this makes it clear :)
We all know by now that this was sabotage by MNET and CJENM, due to txt being fully Hybe. They decided to mess them up on purpose. With the Belift issue, we now know in 2023. If you look at le sserafim in 2022 MAMA. They did the exact same thing, they sabotaged camerawork intentionally and then panned and zoomed into other idols who's company CJ now has a collaboration with. very weird. we should all boycott them.
When they were performing frost I want to scream at the camera to get close to their face too why did it have to be a wide shot but the dance break is amazing. TXT is amazing and the best.
Fr, I really am so upset, MAMA‘s shitty camerawork has been an issue for YEARS! Imagine preparing an amazing choreography and putting so much effort into the performance, JUST for the cameramen to say „Aight, let‘s zoom out real quick“ but like, 6 times. It must be so fucking tiring, smh. Why do artists even bother preparing a MAMA ver performance when they get disrespected anyway.

i literally had tears in my eyes at the dance break after i saw the dance practice video. the dance and music were supposed to have such a beautiful synchro, but it was all ruined. but our boys still did so well. they were professional, clean, and mesmerizing. TXT DESERVES BETTER.

Just saw the comparison video of their mama stage and dance practice. They did txt so dirty with the lighting, camera work, off sound beat Either ways, I am so proud of the boys. They did absolute best today with their unmatched energy level, insane synchronization, top tier execution. I hope they won't regret for anything. As their fans, we all are so so proud

The problem with the frost performance was that the backdrop of the performance was also a part of the stage and ig the cameraman wanted to have both on the screen so he had to zoom out most of the time....
I thought it's only me who notices the off beat plus over heavy sounds in the bg that overpowers TXT's live singing, but when I scroll in the com sec, geezz it's more than thatt, but one thing for sure... TXT handled this with touch of perfection and professionalism
Their charisma and visuals are no joke. So are their dancing and singing skills. Their choreography and stage performances were perfect. Their abilities were really extraordinary.
Msnake tried their best to hide txt's charm with bad camera work, poor lighting and making the audio off beat for them to dance but our TALENTED and AMAZING boys still slayed it and showed what they got and fed moas with an outstanding performance. TXT you did great and we're proud of you

It's because they wanted to show their "huge" stage ...it happened to all the performances I saw....also txt was very badly mistreated so it's understandable

I would never ever look down on pre-recording when it comes to kpop because they have to dance. Of course it’s insanely impressive if they sing live, and of course there will be a back track so they can breathe properly and stuff. But yeah anyways txt insane I love them sm
Tbh I don't think it's live? It sounds like it was prerecorded but the audio is quite different to the studio version. I think they prerecorded it and mixed it differently than the studio version (it has a single vocal line louder than the others as is usually expected live but the tonal quality of it is quite different to their natural voices which is why I think it was edited). There's multiple tells for if something is live, the biggest one being able to hear a second vocal line over the backing track that is quite a bit louder and more unstable (especially if its volume differs between members) - of course it will be, since they're dancing and singing at the same time. That's usually the easiest to tell, so if there aren't really any awkward changes in volume then it's easier to think it's prerecorded (since Beomgyu for example has a very quiet voice, he's much harder to hear live than say, Taehyun, who sings much louder - this is mainly because of the difference in the way they sing). When they sing live and take pauses during some dance moves, the absence of the live vocal is noticeable, and therefore the easiest to notice (if you'd like to compare, you can notice these pauses easily with Changbin or Han from SKZ because even though their rap itself is extremely stable live, they choose to pause at times and you can hear that drop in volume, since the backing track would be adjusted to account for the additional volume of live vocals). This is harder to tell, though, when the backing track is turned up so loud that you can't hear some members to compensate for those pauses, in which case you can also look for other clues. Another tell, that I think is more obvious here, is if their voices have a bit of a tinny quality to them. Sure, that could be put down to bad mics, but they probably don't have terrible mics, and that tinny sound is usually associated with autotune and other tone adjusting edits. I think this was prerecorded and then put through some, imo, slightly strange mixing? It was most noticeable in the first verse, but the sound just as they shift between notes doesn't really sound like what voices normally do. Just to clarify, I'm not criticising them for not singing live (also I might be wrong), their dance is challenging and people have insanely high expectations of live vocals (mainly because prerecording and lipsyncing is much more common these days and people don't seem to be able to tell the difference between those and live more often than not).
@@aris5375 it’s because the technology is so good and I have heard idols (ateez for example) sing live during difficult performances (and they’re insane for that) that it’s so difficult to tell whether a group is singing live. I wrote “idrc” because I personally am not going to be upset if a group doesn’t sing live if they have intense choreography. If they do sing live that’s like a bonus. And I would like to hear more groups sing live from time to time because I feel it’s getting rarer as they are expected to be perfect if they do it at all. I think if you sing live and dance at the same time it’s expected that there will be errors. I think it’s cool, it reminds you idols aren’t perfect and then they probably feel better as artists getting to fully work all their skills they train for at once. I appreciate your comment, I think about this a lot and am trying to train my ear to tell whether idols are singing or not lol. usually now I can tell just because it’s obviously when they do a move like a jump or something you can hear it happen in their voice
@@fairypops yes that does make sense! I'm glad we have a similar perspective on this. IMO I do think idols should be singing live, and choreo should be adjusted to make that possible (besides, choreo is made to the song, not the song to the choreo). For me personally, it's more a matter of that, as idols, singing and dancing are both,,,, their jobs, so they should be doing both. Mind you, part of that may be because I myself really focus on vocals. I can't begrudge idols for not singing live though, since in part it's because with how packed their schedules are (and how little sleep they get etc.), their voices could be significantly more unstable. I also do think that labels should be giving idols more training on technique, but again, these are all issues stemming from various sources, and it's less something to be critical towards specific people for. I think fans should understand and be forgiving of the fact that live vocals simply won't sound like studio ones, but the dramatic increase in lip syncing, particularly during and after the pandemic, does nothing but encourage fans' impossible expectations (mind you, this is an issue in lots of pop music with how much vocals are edited - and then people forget what real voices sound like). I'd say it's somewhat of a difficult situation, in part I think that they have a responsibility to sing live (and if that requires simplifying the choreo for the person singing then that should be accepted). On the other hand I understand that there's tons of factors that make it difficult to do so, which is why, particularly for highly broadcasted performances like award shows, it is not unexpected for people to choose to pre record instead.

nah bc MAMA did them so dirty. the camera work was so bad , soobins speech got cut off and the other stuff too. idk what txt did to MAMA but watching this performance. i couldn’t even see the boys face closer , it was like they were filming the background. but no matter what txt SLAYED that performance. they stayed professional no matter what.
I am not a MOA, but I will say this: Even thought Mnet did TXT dirty, this performance was spectacular. The boys are very professional to have handled the situation so wonderfully and still giving this amazing performance. Despite the poor camera work and unsynced music, TXT shone. Because Mnet, you might take away good camera and lighting work privilege but you can do nothing about the talent the boys have. TXT is amazing, and no one can change that fact.

i literally had tears in my eyes at the dance break after i saw the dance practice video. the dance and music were supposed to have such a beautiful synchro, but it was all ruined. but our boys still did so well. they were professional, clean, and mesmerizing. TXT DESERVES BETTER.

The problem with the frost performance was that the backdrop of the performance was also a part of the stage and ig the cameraman wanted to have both on the screen so he had to zoom out most of the time....
I thought it's only me who notices the off beat plus over heavy sounds in the bg that overpowers TXT's live singing, but when I scroll in the com sec, geezz it's more than thatt, but one thing for sure... TXT handled this with touch of perfection and professionalism

I was so into the performance that I wasn't even able to spot that it was offbeat untill I saw the dance practice. I feel really bad for them they deserve way better treatment .

I don't understand why the camera didn't focus on their faces during the performance. The camerawork was poor, but TXT still gave their best. I am really proud of them.
I saw on the Twittersphere that some Armys have a hunch why, and they're pissed that TXT got disrespected because of it.
But that's all speculation.
So sorry for your boys, they work damn hard to be where they are.

I would never ever look down on pre-recording when it comes to kpop because they have to dance. Of course it’s insanely impressive if they sing live, and of course there will be a back track so they can breathe properly and stuff. But yeah anyways txt insane I love them sm
Tbh I don't think it's live? It sounds like it was prerecorded but the audio is quite different to the studio version. I think they prerecorded it and mixed it differently than the studio version (it has a single vocal line louder than the others as is usually expected live but the tonal quality of it is quite different to their natural voices which is why I think it was edited).
There's multiple tells for if something is live, the biggest one being able to hear a second vocal line over the backing track that is quite a bit louder and more unstable (especially if its volume differs between members) - of course it will be, since they're dancing and singing at the same time. That's usually the easiest to tell, so if there aren't really any awkward changes in volume then it's easier to think it's prerecorded (since Beomgyu for example has a very quiet voice, he's much harder to hear live than say, Taehyun, who sings much louder - this is mainly because of the difference in the way they sing). When they sing live and take pauses during some dance moves, the absence of the live vocal is noticeable, and therefore the easiest to notice (if you'd like to compare, you can notice these pauses easily with Changbin or Han from SKZ because even though their rap itself is extremely stable live, they choose to pause at times and you can hear that drop in volume, since the backing track would be adjusted to account for the additional volume of live vocals). This is harder to tell, though, when the backing track is turned up so loud that you can't hear some members to compensate for those pauses, in which case you can also look for other clues.
Another tell, that I think is more obvious here, is if their voices have a bit of a tinny quality to them. Sure, that could be put down to bad mics, but they probably don't have terrible mics, and that tinny sound is usually associated with autotune and other tone adjusting edits.
I think this was prerecorded and then put through some, imo, slightly strange mixing? It was most noticeable in the first verse, but the sound just as they shift between notes doesn't really sound like what voices normally do.
Just to clarify, I'm not criticising them for not singing live (also I might be wrong), their dance is challenging and people have insanely high expectations of live vocals (mainly because prerecording and lipsyncing is much more common these days and people don't seem to be able to tell the difference between those and live more often than not).
@@aris5375 it’s because the technology is so good and I have heard idols (ateez for example) sing live during difficult performances (and they’re insane for that) that it’s so difficult to tell whether a group is singing live. I wrote “idrc” because I personally am not going to be upset if a group doesn’t sing live if they have intense choreography. If they do sing live that’s like a bonus. And I would like to hear more groups sing live from time to time because I feel it’s getting rarer as they are expected to be perfect if they do it at all. I think if you sing live and dance at the same time it’s expected that there will be errors. I think it’s cool, it reminds you idols aren’t perfect and then they probably feel better as artists getting to fully work all their skills they train for at once. I appreciate your comment, I think about this a lot and am trying to train my ear to tell whether idols are singing or not lol. usually now I can tell just because it’s obviously when they do a move like a jump or something you can hear it happen in their voice
@@fairypops yes that does make sense! I'm glad we have a similar perspective on this. IMO I do think idols should be singing live, and choreo should be adjusted to make that possible (besides, choreo is made to the song, not the song to the choreo). For me personally, it's more a matter of that, as idols, singing and dancing are both,,,, their jobs, so they should be doing both. Mind you, part of that may be because I myself really focus on vocals.
I can't begrudge idols for not singing live though, since in part it's because with how packed their schedules are (and how little sleep they get etc.), their voices could be significantly more unstable. I also do think that labels should be giving idols more training on technique, but again, these are all issues stemming from various sources, and it's less something to be critical towards specific people for. I think fans should understand and be forgiving of the fact that live vocals simply won't sound like studio ones, but the dramatic increase in lip syncing, particularly during and after the pandemic, does nothing but encourage fans' impossible expectations (mind you, this is an issue in lots of pop music with how much vocals are edited - and then people forget what real voices sound like).
I'd say it's somewhat of a difficult situation, in part I think that they have a responsibility to sing live (and if that requires simplifying the choreo for the person singing then that should be accepted). On the other hand I understand that there's tons of factors that make it difficult to do so, which is why, particularly for highly broadcasted performances like award shows, it is not unexpected for people to choose to pre record instead.

Even thought Mnet did TXT dirty, this performance was spectacular. The boys are very professional to have handled the situation so wonderfully and still giving this amazing performance. Despite the poor camera work and unsynced music, TXT shone. Because Mnet, you might take away good camera and lighting work privilege but you can do nothing about the talent the boys have. TXT is amazing, and no one can change that fact.
