Botham was known for his charismatic personality and his unwavering determination to win matches. He had engaging feuds with several players, one notable example being his rivalry with Imran Khan. However, Botham's genius made him stand out from the crowd, and his extraordinary abilities were unmatched. Despite his volatile and aggressive demeanor, he was widely admired, both in Australia and England. In addition, Botham's passionate and dramatic commentary endeared him to many fans, even though it may not always have been the most technically accurate. Whenever Botham was involved, nobody wanted to miss out on the action. However, the same cannot be said for Chappell.

Botham is one of England's best ever cricketers.
Exciting and controversial, which is always entertaing as well.

I believe Chappell's account 100%. Maybe Botham was too pissed to remember the glass, but as an Aussie (and a Chappell supporter) I felt the following:-
    1. It's a dumb idea to start sledging a pissed bloke who's bigger than you. In any situation.
    2. Botham looked to be extending the olive branch at the start of that final interview (probably thinking "life's too short for this shit") and Chappell didn't even look at him. Bad start
    3. When asked to say something positive Botham said Ian was a good cricketer and captain (which he was), Chappell was disgraceful in his response (love him or hate him Botham was an amazing all rounder) Chappell indeed looked very bitter and lonely and I felt pretty average (and embarrassed) watching him in that "interview".
Just my opinion, And I'm biased towards Australia, but not in this case.

You like many suits to make Beefy the one at fault.. was you there. I wasnt. To be fair Botham was more grown up with positive comments. Chapell the prick fair play to you was more grown up. Ian was 21 we all have been 21 and pending on back bone or if you have balls you wont let people just give you crap and say or do nothing within reason to the same at least. Chapell couldnt take it. Greg different man thankfully.

Fair play to you as an Aussie and a Chappell supporter. You’ve read it fairly... a staged drama but Botham gave the impression of being willing to forgive and forget while Chappell does himself no favours.
Those two men are the only ones who know the real events. Whatever the genesis of argument, the size of Botham (when he was fit) and his noted robustness suggests any physical altercation probably resembles Botham’s version more than Chappell’s.

Yep! Beefy is more Aussie than Chappelli. And that's difficult to say. But Ian is an arrogant man who has too high of an opinion of himself.
