I hate pistol grips but the birdshead looks nice. Unless you want to keep it as a truck gun or close quarters self defense your better off with a stocked gun
Neither is what I would call “painful” to shoot, even with 00 buck like the ones we were shooting. However, the Maverick 88 was far more controllable for Mr. Obvious and myself. If you are particularly recoil shy, neither of these are your friend. Hope this helps

I have a cruiser. It's painful with heavy loads. And I have lots of shotgun experience.
Shockwave with birds head is alot less painful than the pistol grip period
Can you put a folding stock on it?
