  • Mauritian mountains are remnants of volcanoes which formed our island millions of years back. The best spot to look at the relief of Mauritius is from the view point at the Trou aux Cerfs, a dormant crater at Curepipe. Mountains are spread along three mountain ranges: the Moka-Port Louis range, the Black River range and the Grand Port range. The highest mountain is the Piton de la Rivière-Noire, with a peak at an altitude of 868 m. Les Trois Mamelles and Rempart Mountains are picturesque! And the Pieter Both mountain peak is a curiosity!
