I grew up on the Elizabeth River in Chesapeake Virginia. One of the best crab fisheries on the planet if not the best. It dumps into the Chesapeake Bay. I remember going to the railroad trusses by the Ford plant and literally filling up a 12 foot Jon boat to the point where we had to stand on the benches. All with a dip net pulling them right out of the water and right off the pylons. Then cook and pick crabs all night so my granny could make crab cakes that would knock your socks clean off. I did these things solo at 9 years old with a 9.9 Johnson and my Jon Boat. Best days of my life!!!!! Love this content.
The Chesapeake cant keep up anymore. Louisiana crabs are shipped to Maryland.
JARED
What a wonderful video it was fun to watch you catch, but you need to be voted by the parish president for the St. Bernard Parish ambassador, You have my VOTE ‼️
One of the best videos of yours I’ve seen. My all time favorite seafood is blue point crabs. Thanks again
You are one hell of a salesmen for St. Bernard, I have to come down just for the food.
Ok, I'm ready to drive down just for that redfish meal! That looks amazing buddy!
Love me some crabbn', the wife and I are buying a dozen of those nets you have as I am typing this comment. Great video, keep it up and I can't wait to come see you down there in the great parish of St. Bernard.
Love watching your fishing videos ❤
love your videos, i just gained 5 pounds watching. oh how i miss the folks i met in St B years ago, wonderful folks
Another great video of our south Louisiana way of life... but with an elegant twist of a delicious meal (not that all of our meals aren't delicious)... gracias amigo!!
Hey Jared , I love Crab pickin,so Yummy 😋!
Thanks for taking us along🌞.
JO JO IN VT 💞💨❄️☃️
I lived in NOLA for 18 years. I currently live in Georgia. Hubby and I are planning to move to Chalmet I can’t wait.
OK Jarad, if you keep this up I’m gonna have to unscribe! Don’t know how much more I can take seeing all that fantastic seafood, much of which I grew up eating in Mobile.
Couple of suggestions, about future catch and cooks, if you haven’t already done them.
Fried soft shell blue crab and fresh fried mullet fillets. In my opinion both great, tasty seafood. We always had plain grits with the mullet but cheese grits would kick that up a notch.
We used to catch soft shells wading at night while floundering but of course today they are farmed like so many other seafoods.
And we crabbed cotton line with chicken necks and dip net! My how things have changed! But the crabs still taste as good or better!
Enjoy the videos, especially the ones with your boys. Keep ‘em coming!😊
It’s cool you guys don’t have a size limit. Here in Maryland in the Chesapeake Bay it’s 5 1/4 inches and hard male crabs only for recreational crabbers. I catch so many just under 5 inches that I have to throw back
Yeah man it def helps on a slow day. Thanks so much for watching f
Crave, feel a powerful desire for something. That plate sure lived up to the definition. Fun time on the water.
Need to get some oily bait, bunker or I guess you'd call them pogies. Mackerel & bluefish heads are real good to. Love them blue crabs!!
I used to ship out of New Orleans and while waiting to catch a ship, I would go to a bar in St. Bernard parish named Perino's . I met some of the friendliest people you would ever want to meet there.
I would not hesitate to visit any of the establishments in the Parish.
I do love me some St. Bernard fishin! Going to buy some traps to drop off while I'm fishing. Pick em up on the way back in.
Looks like a great time. Was -28°F here in Wyoming this morning. Had 2 days of snow . Too cold to shovel or plow. Will do that tomorrow.
I live in Natchitoches, Louisiana which is probably about 150 miles north of St. Bernard parish were this was filmed and I’m not sure if our temp gauges even go down to that temperature. I don’t blame you one bit for not going out there to shovel. With the arthritis I have I’m not sure if I could get out the door. Lol.
Enjoy your videos 👍. Keep up the Good work. I was looking at your merchandise, was looking to see if you had long sleeve dry fit.
Hey I keep praying for you to get up to 100000 views per video you have top class videos
I’m a pain but love the video ! Where did you get the bets? In ct here and we have a decent season up here and those traps would be perfect
How do you store your nets so they don’t get tangled?
AB&C Outdoors just reinvented the drop net. Its a closing net. Dont flip, and your crabs cant swim out. Made with smaller netting so your crabs dont get all wrapped up giving you more time crabbing and not dealing with nets. Made out of stainless and galvanized makes them long lasting saving you some money in the long run! Hit me up for more info on placing an order!
Buena pesca carnal boy a copiar tus trampas
I saw someone use rock salt to attract shrimp in the river. Can you use rock salt to attract crab as well?
I have almost exactly same net set up In tributaries of the Chesapeake bay on the Eastern shore. Your nets should have bigger Diameter. And bottom ring.
Where did you get your ring nets from?
Hook and Line Sporting Goods in Chalmette, LA. Call them up they can ship (504) 277-5615
How many traps can you allowed?
I live here now and plan on going crabbing. Is the season right for it now? Also, would you be interested in a tag along?
Try using a trot line to catch crabs. Use J O spice and steam the crabs.
If them crabs like the rabbit like that I’m going to have to try some nutria for bait next time.
What brand and model are your ring nets?
You have to get them from Hook and Line Sporting Goods in Chalmette. They can ship if you order over the phone
Why crab nets and not crab traps? You caught some nice size eating crabs. I use the smaller ones for redfish bait.
Might could say that those crabs went into the net just bc they caught a wild hare…. Might could say that the wild hare caught them.
how long are you waiting to check your nets?
@@OutsidetheLevees thanks a lot. Memorial day is my first fishing/crawfishing trip in my new-to-me boat, this advice will help a lot.
Have you ever been to Oregon? The Dungeness.crab are a lot bigger than a blue crab.
Please do a catch&cool video. Please.. like with your catch is. Still good video. Thank u.
One of Lousiannas biggest draws. Pay a charter. Charter captains license IS YOUR FISHING LICENSE. NO extra charge.
who are those ring nets made by? Look far superior to others I've seen.
Hook and Line in Chalmette Louisiana sells them you can call and have them shipped
I would like to go crabbing with you, looks fun, how can I get in contact with you
It's hard for me to watch you eating that great dish. Cannot get that quality seafood here in Jacksonville/St Augustine,
Florida area. Many years ago I worked as a chemist in the then Tenneco Refinery at the river end of Paris Rd. in St.Bernard Parish.
I wish I had a boat so I could go to st bernard and catch crabs.
@@OutsidetheLevees thanks for getting back. if you have any tricks to the trade please share. I need to break my no fish catching streak.
Not catching many crabs? Dude you found a fishing hole. Anywhere you dont got too many crabs is a fishing spot.
Bro Kim sorry but then crabs yoy showing are going to die the one that are flipped upside side down
I am 72 years old and when I was a child, before my dad died, we would go out to the lake and throw out those type of nets anchored in the cracks between the stairs of the sea wall. We would spend the day with family and the kids running the nets every half hour or so and by the evening we would usually have a bushel or two of crabs. My dad would set up the boiler and cook them right there. Then we would spend the evening picking and eating them right there at the top of the sea wall. Great memories. Sadly the lake became too populated to eat the great things the lake used to have to offer. Love ❤️
I will def film one at the lake soon
