Just a suggestion that helps me to make my crochet much more even and neat. I use a Susan Bates hooks. It doesn’t split the yarn.

I have some of those, but sometimes because of the problems I have with my thumbs that don’t work properly I can’t grip them unfortunately. But I am getting better.

I grew up watching the Little House Series. I have read the books, too. I have many of them still and I knit and crochet. I have some yarn in mind to make along with you.
I love Little House. I bought the books for my niece. I'm going to have to go back and see what all crocheted items were in the show. I laughed a little when you said the color..I live in Cincinnati. ;) One of my fave eps is when Nellie fakes being paralyzed and Laura finds out. Another fave of mine is the cinnamon chicken one...LOL
All those episodes are hilarious!!!!!😅 do you know that Nelly Olsen was created from three different people that Laura met in our life? I cannot imagine what those three were like😂

I grew up watching LHotP. I can't say that I have a favorite episode, but I was super uncomfortable with the ep that Mrs. Ingles was being flirted with by a friend that Mr. Ingles trusted to help fixing the house. I hope I'm remembering it right, I only watched the episode once, and just watched other stuff if it came on.
I'm so sorry that you had Covid! I didn't know that it could cause nerve problems in the hands either. I'm glad you are able to crochet again! I had to take time off from crochet too because of a tendon in my wrist that refused to unfreeze. Had to get a botox shot in it before it even started to heal properly. Lots of physical therapy too.
You have a great way of teaching, it feels very personal, like learning from a friend!
I also wanted to name my kid "Laura" or "Cassidy" when I was younger, but, never had one so... Maybe in another life I will. Gosh, I had forgotten about that until you spoke of your daughter. I had wondered what the middle name should be, I think I was just going to call her Laura Mary (bet you can't guess why! Lol).
😄 I chose my daughter name when I was 12😅 I would tell my mom when I get married one day and have a daughter her name will be Laura Rose. 😂
Yes, Covid was like a tingling sensation that went up my chest down my arms, and then my thumbs quit working. The neurologist told me that there is nothing that they can do. So my stubbornness I started to move them by doing some exercises. I didn’t crochet for two years , I’m not as fast as I used to but I am getting it back

I wish I could go. Oh my gosh. I grew up in the city right across from Manhattan. My bedroom had the view of the New York skyline, and though I had a great childhood, I hated the city life. I would look at that and wish I was on the prairie.😂
I would have loved to see the final product! It's quite beautiful. How many balls of yarn should I purchase. I do everything online so I like to get all the yarn at once.
I’m working on it and so far I have used six skeins, it’s super chunky. Of course I want it to be warm. I also buy everything online. I really go to the stores. When I buy yarn for a project, I always make sure I buy extra. If I don’t use the extra my daughters end up taking it 😅❤️

Hi friend, how many skeins did you use for this? You should also look into ergonomic hooks, they saved my hands . I have R.A and had to stop doing knitting/ crocheting cause of the pain. They really help me. Happy crocheting. PS I also loved Little House on the Prairie.
I used 6-8 skeins. my thumbs after two years have finally started to get movement again so I am able to crochet. I’ll look more into those type of hooks because I can’t use the skinny ones I just can’t hold them. Little house on the prairie was my obsession growing up, and I still love it very much.🥰
