I was wondering what the heck was going on, but then the blue haired kid gave me a microphone, and music started playing from the boombox. That's when I realized: this is a RAP BATTLE. I admit, I've never actually DONE a rap battle before, so I was a little curious. I decided to go along with it, though, because I didn't wanna miss the opportunity. So once the music started, I started singing. I'm pretty bad at singing in general, but I figured it didn't really MATTER, since this was just my first time. When I got done with my first line, he started to COPY me. I got a little mad, but I figure the same thing is going on in HIS head as in MINE. So I repeated my line, to get a fresh start. Now, I thought he would say something ELSE. But instead, he copied me AGAIN. I guess I should've told this guy that I didn't like to be copied BEFOREHAND, but by now it was too late. I changed things up a bit with a new line, but then he copied THAT, too. At this point I was getting really annoyed, so I picked up the pace and came up with a line that was pretty hard to copy. And SOMEHOW he managed to COPY it. I wasn't gonna put up with this anymore, so I changed the music and decided I was gonna go full on. So I made my line really fast paced and even tried my hardest. Don't even ask me HOW, but he STILL managed to copy all that. I decided to just give up and sing normally, because I didn't wanna waste all my energy on some random kid. Besides, all he was gonna do is just copy me again and again, so it wasn't worth it. The music finally ended, and it was getting dark outside. These guys wanted me to rap AGAIN, but I decided not to, and kicked them out. Finally, I could go back to playing Twisted Wizard without any interruptions. I wasn't expecting this to happen, and I don't expect it to happen AGAIN, but I've got a feeling they'll be back again tomorrow to finish it off. But I'm really not looking forward to THAT. I figure I should start doing my research, because I really need to know how to set up a trap in the front yard."
What makes this so good is how it actually takes aspects of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid canon and uses it to it's advantage. Greg is canonically a good singer and he hates being copied, which is BF's entire strategy in these battles. This justifies the song getting harder as it progresses because Greg just wants him to stop so he tries making it harder to copy, just to give up near the end because there's no point since he now knows BF can keep up with whatever he tries.

1:47 that beat drop is honestly incredible, and the "freaky on a Friday night yeah" makes it so much better. Its like Greg remembered it and decided to go with it, or like boyfriend said that and that's what made him go all out (because in the books he never gets a girlfriend so maybe he felt like that boyfriend was mocking him by saying that (sounds petty but that also fits him really well)) can't wait to hear the others, I alongside other am very nostalgic for these books.

Frank Heffley (The Dad) seems to not care about his kids in general, not really spending time with them, and only working on his battlefield model. He seems to want his kids to be "manly" and nearly sends Greg to a military camp. Manny... I don't need to explain this kid. There is an entire community called f*ck Manny.

this is actually a really nice mod that actually makes sense. y’know cause greg canonically hates being copied, so the song progressively gets harder as it continues. he wanted to try and test boyfriend to see if he would give up, but in the end greg was the one to give up. he wasn’t aware that boyfriend has battled monsters and has faced more difficult songs. this song personally gives off a mellow yet dark mood to me, i like it.

Finally the ost is out so I can sing my praises of this song to the one’s unaware. I’ve made it no secret of my love for this song, so let me just reiterate for those who haven’t heard. This song’s dope. It’s filled with so much personality, Greg starts with normal vocals and simple notes probably because he’s condescending to the boyfriend (yes, I know bf is 19 you can shut the hell up about it), and after a while, his vocals and instrumental gets more distorted, and his notes become more complex almost as if he’s trying to one up the boyfriend, and finally at the “gettin freaky” he lets all his frustration out into his final effort, and as many have suggested, the final verses could be him cooling down and resolving. I love this mod with all my heart, it gives me flashbacks to an elementary school book fair and I would see a light blue book standing alone on a stand, one that read “Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Cabin Fever”. I’d reach for it and ask my mom to buy it for me. That day changed my whole life.
This song reminds me of a long while ago, when I still had no idea what the Diary of A Wimpy Kid series was. When I discovered it, I instantly became obsessed and ended up reading the whole series in a week. The fact that it's making a return in one of my favorite Rhythm games is just heartwarming for me, I bet that I'll have trouble playing along with the waves of nostalgia hitting me in the face. It's gonna be a blast to play when it comes out, and I'm excited to hear and see the finished product.

Really good, the initial cutscene could be greg diary with him talking about how he rapped with bf and defeated him, and then the cutscene cutting to the gameplay with a text like "in the reallity..."

Finally the ost is out so I can sing my praises of this song to the one’s unaware. I’ve made it no secret of my love for this song, so let me just reiterate for those who haven’t heard. This song’s dope. It’s filled with so much personality, Greg starts with normal vocals and simple notes probably because he’s condescending to the boyfriend (yes, I know bf is 19 you can shut the hell up about it), and after a while, his vocals and instrumental gets more distorted, and his notes become more complex almost as if he’s trying to one up the boyfriend, and finally at the “gettin freaky” he lets all his frustration out into his final effort, and as many have suggested, the final verses could be him cooling down and resolving. So yeah, keep up the good work. Can’t wait my dude.
Edit: just noticed something. At the gettin’ freaky part, Greg actually starts copying bf’s lines, meaning that he could either be trying to learn from him, or he’s getting irritated with how bf copies him, so he starts copying bf as if to try to annoy him. THIS MOD IS SO GOOD!!!

I love this mod with all my heart, it gives me flashbacks to an elementary school book fair and I would see a light blue book standing alone on a stand, one that read “Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Cabin Fever”. I’d reach for it and ask my mom to buy it for me. That day changed my whole life.

This song reminds me of a long while ago, when I still had no idea what the Diary of A Wimpy Kid series was. When I discovered it, I instantly became obsessed and ended up reading the whole series in a week. The fact that it's making a return in one of my favorite Rhythm games is just heartwarming for me, I bet that I'll have trouble playing along with the waves of nostalgia hitting me in the face. It's gonna be a blast to play when it comes out, and I'm excited to hear and see the finished product.

Last level should be "Do It Yourself", as a reference to the book with the same name, and it consists on playing notes based only on the opponent's animations. You don't get arrows to copy, or cues to play, you just... do it yourself.

I actually saw some videos pop up here and there in my recommended, and never really got a chance to check them out. I’m very happy to have found yours. The song… it’s too good! It’s amazing! And everyone talking about the nostalgic feel of it, and the whole idea of a Diary of a Wimpy Kid mod makes me so freaking happy!
Really good, the initial cutscene could be greg diary with him talking about how he rapped with bf and defeated him, and then the cutscene cutting to the gameplay with a text like "in the reallity..."
It's like.. It sounds retro like Diary Of A Wimpy Kid... But... Still in this timezone. Greg's voice sound like the old floppy drives and.. It just makes me happy. His voice just really goes with the, "wind after a hot day" feeling of the music. It makes me feel... I went outside and got all hot and sweaty, then I went back inside and watched some SatAM cartoons. And it seems like Greg is getting more irritated, and at the slow part it's like Greg just explaining how he's just.. Done. He's tired, and gives up.

This song is a pure epic vibe. So clean. and I like how Greg Heffely's voice sounds like a clean version of a classic walky talky. And that "gettin' freaky on a friday night yeah!" in the middle just makes this even more epic than it already is.
I actually have an idea for the mod, a diary note, it can be put where Greg gets insane, it will work with a little animation of Greg throwing the book to boyfriend, or maybe the screen, like a distraction, if we fail to that note

It was a normal day, I just went to my house from the school from the same path, I left my things on my ROOM and i ran downstairs for going to play something on my old Gamecube, but when i was going to take the CONTROLLER somebody pick the door, I know mom’s always says to not open the door to strangers but I was TIRED of that so I opened it and I find BF from FNF. I couldn’t believe it, FNF was the FAVORITE game of Rodrick and I and the protagonist just went to OUR house for singing vs ME. He just did his normal beeps and I couldn’t understand him, but it didn’t matter because he gived me a microphone and we just started the rap battle. *3, 2, 1, Go!* I started easy with him, I always have been a GOOD singer, but he just started COPING my BARS. I was getting frustrated soo I climb a step and, LOOKING for luck, trying to make it harder for him, but he just continued coping me, and that was FINISHING me so I take my abilities to their LIMITS and start rapping like a professional, but he didn’t care and he just destroyed me. That’s why I didn’t continue singing with Rodrick.
