libidO was meant to be confrontational in terms of almost everything, how you confront your sexuality and how those emotions connect to others, how is that expressed through the lyrics, the choreography (which was toned down from the original conception). But the MV is in a third-person POV, we are observing the scenes objectively. skinz is opposite to that, it is first-person POV from the members side, we are invited into their lives, seeing them interact more closely, its more intimate between the units [the sharing of food and earphones, holding hands], the lyrics are saying peel it off, when it's raw, we're the same under the skin and to get you to see that, they scratch the ground, scratch their bodies and it makes you uncomfortable but that's on purpose. cheating woman is a cover of a famous Japanese song; when OnlyOneOf toured in Japan this winter, this was their gift song to Japanese lyOns. The original artist even sent flowers to one of their performing venues, it was really sweet. BTW if you see them offstage, they're like all KPOP groups, pretty chaotic. My favorite VLogs are from Junji, the early silent ones are golden.

Yoojung is the main dancer in the group! Rie and Junji are the lead dancers with Rie being the choreography leader

so skinz is actually about the parasocial relationship between idols and fans! the song is meant to be weird/disconcerting, as it represents thanatos, the death drive, in humans (in contrast with libido and instinct part 1 representing eros, the life drive.)
i enjoyed watching your reactions to these so much, i’m looking forward to your other videos on them ❤
p.s: yoojung is actually the main dancer! rie, junji, and mill are the lead dancers :)

I just want to recommend the MV for which thousands of fans around the world were hooked on OnlyOneOf "Malamente" is addictive. Hopefully you can also see the covers and enjoy the way they take each song to their territory.

Skinz was definitely a grower for me. First time I heard it, I hated it. But I watched reactions to it and after listening a few times, it started to grow on me. Now I very much love it. Not a daily playlist song but definitely a do not skip song. I always enjoy it when I hear it.😊

BTW when you're collecting your OnlyOneOf dance covers, I highly recommend BTS Spring Day (dance practice), Savage (Megan Thee Stallion, Beyoncé) and Dawn Money. Those three are a good cross section of what OOO are capable of in terms of how they approach dance covers (I can't wait for your reaction!). Have fun!

The album 'Instinct, pt. 1', where 'libidO' is from, is about the sex instinct, which is reflected in the songs and mv. 'Instinct, pt. 2', where 'skinz' is from, is about the death instinct, and also about how death/violence can become intertwined with sex and relationships, hence we have songs like 'gaslighting' about toxic relationships, and the mv for 'skinz' is told from the pov of a stalkery fan, who peeks through their windows, stalks their social media obsessively, waits outside by their car, and then fantasises about hanging out with the group.
The Japanese mini/single album 'Cheating Woman' is on also contains a companion song about a man. Nine wrote Korean lyrics to this song, and it's now on their new Korean cb as 'blueblueseOul'.

Ah too bad u didn’t read the libido description. It has A LOT of key info abt the album’s story. Also totally agree mills acting is superb! As for skinz the mv is basically about parasocial relationships. If I can quote the press release they put out the mv is basically in the perspective of a fan and how they fantasize spending a day with them would be. Imo It’s some pretty meta n very self aware commentary on ship culture I guess and how people might not be able to distinguish between lore/storylines and the members off stage. As for the sound it’s definitely the most experimental song in their discography. It grew on me a lot and I love it but it’s pretty divisive lolll. And yes zurui onna was released in between be mine and because!

Oh yeah if you watch more choreos and their dance covers omg the dance covers it becomes very obvious why Yoojung and Junji are main dancers. You have to see Yoojung and Junji in their Megan Thee Stallion cover of Savage. Their attitude and sass is everything!
