Dak is a 4th rounder that plays like one at big moments. He's capable, but he's not who you want to mount a comeback or to lead your team into playoff runs. He's been given all the parts and money and simply hasn't lived up to it and probably won't. They also can't run the ball, which makes it worse. The issue is that the team is stuck with him for at least two or three more seasons unless he does a Brady deal and willingly takes a sizable pay cut to make them more competitive to sign or draft critical pieces. And yes, the defense got gashed. They were non competitive because all season they couldn't stop the run despite racking up points. No one wants to talk about that. I say send McCarthy and Quinn packing. Quinn is great, except when it matters. McCarthy is what he is. Play calling and clock management are spotty and his ceiling has been reached. His team wasn't ready to play at all. I just feel bad for young fans who have never seen the tradition of winning.
That’s why we are called Frontrunners. We only play well when we get a lead and teams have to throw it. We don’t have enough lead in our britches on defense.

You are right. The Cowboys could go 17-0 next year and Dak could throw 60 TDs and no interceptions and I wouldn't believe they will win in playoffs .
Dak lacks that certain something that separates him from QBs like Mahomes .He's not a championship caliber player.

I have not seen one interview with Parsons had a whole lot to say last week when he was crying about not making first team all pro … all of a sudden he got nothing to say him and his one tackle.
The 1998 playoff loss to Arizona was the same feeling as this loss to Green Bay. Cowboys were undefeated in the East in 1998, including 2 wins vs AZ and got destroyed at home.
The solution this off-season has to be hiring a new coach - guys like Bill, Vrabel, Harbaugh, Slowik, Ben Johnson
Plus Dak agreeing to a new contract extension maybe 2-3 years for good value and not demanding top dollar.
If we can get an elite HC finally and Dak can take a more team friendly deal to reduce his cap hits we can keep a very solid team and hope that the new coach can really install great scheme, principles, discipline and confidence

I remember losing a playoff game to the Rams 28-0 back in the late 70's, but this was just as bad.
Niners playoff game at home and this game we got our ass handed to us. Niners game was the physical dominance, this one was like scheme and execution.

The three biggest 'villians' appear right now to be MM, DQ and Dak. Who made the most mistakes yesterday? DQ. This problem will resolve itself when he flees texas and joins, presumably, Seattle. MM is the jewel we need.to.retain here, we'd absolutely regret letting a headcoach go whos just achieved three straight 12-5's. All Jerry Jones cares about is feeling that he's the center of attention. Jimmy Johnson was clearly the driving force for the Cowboys reemergence in the nineties, and Jerry Jones couldn't stand that. He got rid of Jimmy Johnson and has never again hired a coach that might overshadow him. As a result, the Cowboys have never contended for a Super Bowl again. Ultimately, Jerry Jones just isn't a great football mind, but he doesn't understand that fact. The Cowboys will lose until he does.
Jerry Jones also makes horrible contracts. He allowed himself to be bullied by Elliot. He allowed himself to be bullied by Prescott. He allowed himself to be bullied by Martin this year. The Cowboys need a leader who will tell these players that they have a choice of getting big bucks or being on a Super Bowl team. If they'd rather have the big bucks, the Cowboys should trade them.
There's not ONE SINGLE thing (or a multitude of things) that can occur during the offseason or the season itself that would give me confidence. Only after WINNING a couple of playoff will I start to believe in this team again.

Nope. Not the worst. 12/28/1969 playoff loss to Cleveland Browns 38-14 at the Cotton Bowl in a cold rain. Highlight was kicker Danny Villenuevia trying an onside kick and slipped on a muddy field and fell on his butt, missed the ball. I was on the first row behind the Browns bench. The players were laughing so hard they were crying. Add I was wet, cold and the crown on the old field was so bad couldn’t see the Cowboys bench across. Browns had fun.
Definitely the most embarrassing moment…I’ve been a fan for more than 30 years.
I agree the '07 playoff was the closest, but this is worse. All Superbowl loses were terrible.
This game was everything I could've hoped for. It was the most satisfying Cowboys loss EVER.
Am I the only one who is questioning their fandom for this franchise? Been a fan since the mid 80s & after all these recent disappointing playoffs loses, I would be angry with the results but this one is different. I'm not even angry or shocked. I'm indifferent at this point & have zero hope for this team. Where do we even go from here? WE ARE A FREAKING PUNCHLINE!! All of this starts & ends with the owner, if he really wants us to believe that winning the SB is the objective, McCarthy has to go. Sorry but 12 win seasons mean nothing if we're a punchline in the playoffs. I'm tired of being all flash & zero toughness. We need a disciplinarian who isn't gonna put up with all these stupid penalties. We need coaches who can make the right adjustments & more football intelligent players. I think all this season I sensed something was off with this Cowboys team.
Yes a number of blowouts plus Daks really great work this year but something wasn't right.

If the defense held them at 27 after the half, yeah you would have a point. Defense did nothing. And not so sure the offense should get any credit as well. The call should have been answered (at least) on the 2nd drive and that didn't go well. It was over after that.
