      @buggaugga I thought that for a while too as it makes sense. But you after a while I realized it was the only time in the show that happened that way. When Chloe first found out and was watching from her perspective. They left in the effect. I Truly do feel like this was an oversight brought on by a time crunch in post. But hey, whatever the reason, it doesn't matter.

It's just a shame that her real life didn't mimic her character on Smallville even to the smallest degree. Thank God Kristen Kruek didn't fall into the same crap. They blame Clark for Lana marrying Lex, when she's a grown woman making her own decisions. Even locking Chloe in Lex's wine cellar to lure Clark into revealing his secret is being blamed on Lex having a bad influence on her. Lana was never held accountable for anything she did, which was a good reason she became so resented over time.

      @@KalvinEllis respectfully the writers even said they didn't know what to do with Lana and honestly her best acting was season four beginning of five and 8. She did take her blame but Lana was an amazing and extremely loyal and kind character. She's the reason lots of people wanted Clana and objectively by far chemistry wise with Tom is literally listed as having some of the best chemistry in TV history. Again the writers admitted their fault. Instead of just going with chemistry and having Lana endgame like Superboy series they didn't know what to do because people loved her. I like Lois and loved her on the show but there's no way in hell they had more chemistry than Clark and Lana. Also as much as Superman/Clark is my favorite superhero and character of all time they made him look like an idiot his choices with Lana. Nobody else has to go through that.

    • @KalvinEllis
      @KalvinEllis Před měsícem +1

      @@brandontrammel4581 Okay we're not talking about acting here, we're talking about writing and she was objectively the worst written character on the show. Kristin is a good actress, but she was rarely given a chance to show that with this character. I'm not getting into the chemistry thing(which they did have, especially early on) that Clark and Lois had like no other two people on the show. The bad moments far outnumbered the bright spots and over time people rejected her precisely because they didn't know what to do with her and kept putting her in situations she didn't belong in and was never held accountable for. I remember in S7 they were getting questions about why keep doing the Clana thing again when the very theme of their relationship by that point was about how they didn't work and she was holding him back. I don't disagree about them making Clark look like an idiot, and the less we say about Lana's return in S8 the better.

    • @brandontrammel4581
      @brandontrammel4581 Před měsícem

      @@KalvinEllis I agree. They wasted an amazing character objectively. They should have just kept Clark and Lana together especially if she got powers because Smallville Clark was op and immortal so he wouldn't have aged and neither would she and have somebody by his side who understands him. Or just have her like they mentioned just leave and be the amazing hero she was prophesized to be even without Clark by those from the Legion of the future.
      Respectfully the writers said they destroyed Lana's character on purpose to try and make their breakup more believable and push Lois but like with S8 she comes back all amazing and then they just take her away makes it a million times worse because they are apart because they had to be and it makes Lois look bad. When they weren't trying to make drama just to make drama Lana was a really good character and smart.

  • @KartalaBreed
    @KartalaBreed Před 7 lety +205

    I felt like Lana always pried too much. She always tried to force the truth out of people and that never worked with Clark. It always had the exact opposite effect. I know Lana eventually became a complete badass, but in earlier seasons, she would immediately blame Clark for some of the most ridiculous things. Like in season 2 or something, when she got trampled by the horse after Lex pushed her, she told Clark that he was too dangerous to be around, but got mad because he stayed away. She was the one who got mad for Clark not involving her in it sooner. She wanted him to be more "honest" with her, but the moment he trusted her, she got hurt. He retracts again. In season 4, she immediately blamed Clark for getting Jason fired because she assumed that he would actually be that spiteful. He takes another step back from telling her.
    I know these are years before season six, but they are supposed to be small examples as to how petty Lana can be sometimes. I don't think they were the greatest fit because neither of them could ever let themselves completely trust each other. At times they were too codependent. Clark worried about Lana so much that it kept him from being free. Lana kept trying to know everything about him so much that she was falling into darkness. Lois on the other hand as fairly care free. She was less susceptible to being dragged into Clark's bull crap. It was a more independent relationship.
    Sorry for the whole essay, but I just needed to get that out there.

    • @outdoorolli5754
      @outdoorolli5754 Před 3 lety +26

      I guess the main difference between Clarks relationship with Lana and that one with Lois is Clarks maturity and acceptance of being that extraordinary person he is. With Lana he pushed into a romantic relationship and when getting there, he kept a distance, that Lana couldn't explain to herself and Clark didn't explain either. When you become a couple, you don't keep a big part of your life as a secret like Clark did. That inadequate distance constantly puzzled Lana and made her more and more suspicious and angry.
      With Lois Clark did not rush into a relationship, because for a long time he even didn't want one - and so did Lois. Their relationship was more a professional one, than an emotional one and consequently Lois didn't expect to know everything from Clark. On the other hand from episode 5x1 Clark had Chloe as a trusted person to get the advise and the cheering-up he needed. From that point it was more rationally controllable to get into a relationship with Lois, because he was less emotionally dependent on Lois like he was on Lana before. And of course he had that Lana experience and knew, that when it comes to love, rushing in really means rushing in. So when they both fell in love, he could tell her everything.

      Also the times that she and Chloe were dating the Jonathan Taylor Thomas character and she blamed didn’t believe Clark and called him jealous and also when that chick that was obsessed with her made everyone believe she was Whitney and also said Clark was jealous and Clark had to basically tell her and Chloe we never dated stop treating me like we did, basically she wanted the truth about Clark’s secret but never believed him anyway, she was the equivalent to felicity in arrow how she was first couple of seasons, I guess CW likes writing love interests like that 😂

      Well, in Lana' defense, you have to look at it from a young adolescent's perspective. The guy she likes is guarding secrets from her even though everything she is out there for him to see. Its like two people trying to hook up with completely different perspectives. Which happens a lot on your first relationship because a lot of times, its based on superficial preferences such as same hobbies and looks rather than a connection.

    I can understand why Clark never told Lana when they were in HS. HS is such a small part of their life, and you may never see each other again so why even bother telling such a huge secret. Not to mention, their freshmen year together were the first year they were even friends so why would he tell someone a heaven defying secret after just one year? Their sophomore and junior year is when they were the closest and the most understandable time to tell her in during the HS arc. Their senior year was when she was dating the coach and I see no reason whatsoever to tell her at that time. Lana and Clark finally ended and each could finally move on. Then they finally started dating and he lost his powers, so again, their was no reason to tell her. The best time in the whole series to tell her was right after he came back from the dead stopping the bomb or rocket because that is when she had the most questions and they were the closest without having to deal with Lex as Lex wasnt really a part of their relationship. He could have told her and have her start to isolate Lex from their lives. Once she started getting close to Lex and used him to share her relationship baggage then that was it. Lex would never be able to let go on why they are suddenly happy together when it came completely out of the blue as we saw in the episode of Clark proposing and Lex practically killing Lana to force her to get his answers. And that was the whole problem after, Clark was constantly reminded of this fact while everyone else forgot. They just assumed Lex would move on if Lana left but if clark told Lana they become a couple again which is completely illogical to everyone, especially to Lex, which would result in Lex going after Lana again and endangering her again which Clark didnt want to do but everyone else had short term memory loss or something. OK, sorry for my short or long monologue. If you read it cool, if not that is fine too. I really just wanted to type about this and see how many words this is in MW. Ok goodbye

The reason you don't see clarks chemtrail, is because, the scene when you're looking at him, is a vision form the Lanas eyes. Meaning, in reality you don't see clarks chemtrail as it's way to fast to be seen by a naked eye, and thus, he just disapears. Hope that clears it for ya. :)

Beside, He gave it a go in multiple occasion with Lana and that , just didn't work out in the end . I would be disappointed in her too for marrying a man who used to be my best friend and that is so manipulative and self-centered. It seems like Lana can't tell the Right hand from the left!
