John’s movie was on TV tonight so I watched it again. We were told today there is no cancer left and he is recovering well. It was a really good day. Thank you for your reaction and I love this song.
That is awesome news. Thank you for the information. Wishing him all the best. 🙂
Another thoughtful reaction. Thank you❤
My pleasure. 🙂
Still one of my favourite ballads "of all time". He used to be a regular on a very popular Saturday nt variety show in Australia that went for 20 odd years (his comedy & persona really got to outshine him there) called "Hey Hey it's Saturday".
In my opinion some of his best ever performances are from that show. There is videos of him singing this song acapella randomly & even though I was just a kid, I still remember it to this day & even better than this performance.
On the same show he sang "When Something Is Wrong With My Baby" with Jimmy Barnes & that too is the best performance of that song floating around on You Tube now.
He also sang "on the spot" with Tom Jones & it was one of the highlights of 20yrs of the whole show.
It must have been exciting waiting for the show. I remember a number of Canadian or US variety shows. We'd check the TV guide to see who the guests were going to be, wait impatiently for the night and time, and then lose reception when the singer was coming on - lol. You'd get to watch "snow" and maybe hear a wee bit of sound leaking through no matter how many acrobats you did with the "bunny ears." It probably didn't happen as much as we thought, but it seemed like it happened all the time. 🙂
I remember the night this concert was on television. Not as good as being there, but the next best thing.
A great TV night. 🙂
The guitarist is Phil Buckle. Phil, John, and Ross Fraser wrote this song
Thank you. It's a great song. 🙂
The guitarist is phil buckle, one of the other writers, the producer, who's name escapes me was the third.
Thank you! 🙂
Apart from JF's incredible voice, the guitar work was exquisite and the harmonics were perfectly placed. I love how John always leaves room in his performances for other musicians to share their own prestige with the audience. A very secure, mature, confident and generous entertainer is "Our John".
I agree with your comments. He seems like a generous performer and person. 🙂
I believe there were three contributors to this song, one being John. Each wrote a verse about their wife.
I love the way he has these pauses in a lot of his songs. Let's it all sink in before he starts again.
🙏🙏💕💐💐🙏🙏H
That's true. 🙂
The guitarist here, Phil Buckle, also co-wrote “Burn For You”.
Thank you for that - good to know. It was so well done. 🙂
Love this song. Terribly hard to leave family but that is his job he is leaving for.
🙂
Thanks for playing that another great Australian song is by Jimmy Barnes called Waiting for the Heartache released in 1988. Peace out.
My pleasure. I have added the Jimmy Barnes song you mentioned to my list. Thank you for your comments and views. 🙂
'Our John'. Brilliant as usual; he can sing anything. Love your reactions. There are so many other songs that John sings (perfectly) always best LIVE, he gives his all to the band, backup singers and audience!
Thank you. I appreciate it. I have become more and more impressed with John as I continue down the journey. 🙂
