    I installed these on my wife’s Jeep. These are great looking lights for sure. BUT, ONE THING….
    These are only held in by the 3 screws that attach the main bracket to the actual taillight. The screws used are tiny and have very little grip. Just compare the OEM light bracket screws to the FORM light bracket screws. I upgraded my bracket screws for the FORM lights to #8 x ½” Pan Philips. I feel they are much more secure now. 👌🏼

    I installed these today on my 2020 JL without the sequential lighting. It was super easy with a flashlight and a 10mm socket, taking maybe 20 minutes end to end.
    Helpful notes - the plug has a way to clip it to the body of the light. Pay attention to how it is clipped before you unplug the old light. Then you can re-attach so the plug is not just dangling by the cables. Also worth repeating to take special care with the plastic screw. Pay attention to how tight it is when you first start to unscrew it, so you know how much to tighten it. And, the screw is easy to finger tighten at first to make sure you are not cross threading it. it should screw in easily for the first couple of rotations.
    Lights look great, way brighter than OEM with a modern look without too much "bling". Exactly what I was looking for.

    I wanted to wait a few weeks to do an update on my replacement Form Tail Light…
    First of all, the customer services communication was outstanding!!! BIG PROPS TO THEM
    Form Lighting made the issue of getting a replacement drivers side tail light very easy and seamless….I didn’t even need to send back the defective tail light. If you ever have problems with their lighting AND you’re within the warranty window, do not hesitate to call the customer service number.
    AND NOW THE ISSUSE
    The replacement worked great for a few days to a week and stopped working with the same problems that I had before …..drivers tail light not working but everything else working as they should (brake light & sequential turn). Again, I unplugged the light and plugged it back in…..I checked the fuses….even double checked the wire tap into the turn signal. Nothing seemed out of place. I just ran with it. The drivers tail light worked when it wanted to.
    I started thinking about any variables that could be in play. The only thing I thought of was the cold weather.
    I noticed that during cold temperatures the light would not work properly. I would say anything below 50 degrees F is when trouble starts for me. Anything above 50 doesn’t affect the light.
    I could try to troubleshoot electrical with any technical department Form Lighting might have, but I’m not savvy enough on a JL to do it.
    I love the look of the light when everything functions, but I’m out of the warranty window. I might go back to my factory halogens, buy another brand of LED tail lights, or move to a warmer climate LOL.

      Hey there! We appreciate the honest review. Sorry to hear you are having so much trouble. This is not an issue we are used to seeing with our Jeep Tails. We do carry a two-year warranty so if you are still experiencing issues with the new product we are happy to help get you a new set to help resolve this!

      @@formlighting thank you for reminding me of the warranty. It's just weird that the replacement is having the same issue as the original, and that makes me hesitant to get a 2nd replacement because I still might experience the same issue.

    * Update * - installed these without the sequential turn signal wired in and they are amazing. the only thing i did not like and the WARNING i will give other people is the lights have metal threads for your plastic screw to secure the light to the body. THIS WILL WRECK YOUR PLASTIC SCREW!!! i removed the bracket for the screw to thread into and replaced it with the factory bracket that has the correct plastic threads and the rest of the install is easy.
    Original - cant wait to purchase these and love the fact that the turn signals will work without the squential portion wired up. those splice clips are nothing but a corrosion magnet and ill be researching a way to connect the sequential feature without splicing wires

    Installed on my 2021 Willys and they work great for about 10 minutes. Once they've been on a while, they only light up when I hit the brakes or when I use a turn signal...other than that it looks like they are off from the rear so I cannot drive at night now???

    Bought these in August but didn't install until October. I couldn't be happier with them!......until this past weekend when the tail light (when you just turn the lights on) portion on the driver's side quit working. The light illuminates when the brake is pressed, and the sequential turn works as expected. I noticed that after the jeep had been sitting for a few hours, the light works, but for a very short period of time (5 mins). Is it possible to get a replacement since I just installed them back in October?

      @formlighting  Před 10 měsíci

      Unfortunately, on USDM spec jeeps there is no way to separate the turn signal from the brake signal on the connector coming from the vehicle. Running the separate wire to the front of the vehicle is the only way to add this feature.

    When you say repeat the same process on the passenger side, does that mean you need to run another yellow wire to the front drl? If so would it be easier to route both at the same time through the same pathing?

    • @formlighting
      @formlighting  Před rokem +1

      Hey there! Because you need each turn signal individually, you will need to run the yellow wire from the tail light up to the other front fender - you are correct. The included wire is only long enough to be ran on its dedicated side as to avoid any possible issues due to being too long, so you'll need to run each side separately. Let us know if you have any other questions!

    @3:15 this is no longer applicable to the 2023 model. There are no cavity plugs and pushing the wire through the harness is impossible. I really didn't want to give up, but I felt like I was going to damage the factory harness if I tried pushing any harder.

    Where exactly do you tap the sequential signals to?

    • @formlighting
      @formlighting  Před rokem

      You will need to tap each turn signal wire to the turn signal on the front of the vehicle. Unfortunately, there is no way to separate turn/brake signal on these Jeeps coming from the tail light connector. However, the entire lamp will still flash as a turn signal, similar to the factory lamp, for road compliance.
