Yes it comes down to the control that the substance has over you, if you plan your days around it. When it doesn’t… and you just go about your day, and several days in a row and you don’t care, that’s the victory.

I've been smoking since I was 12 years old. I'm 62 now and still smoking. I don't even remember before I was 12. Cigs are like another appendage to me. I remember when cigs were .50¢ a pack. I remember as a kid my doctor smoking in the exam room and my mom smoking in the waiting room. I remember when you could smoke in theaters, in grocery stores, hospitals, restaurants and in the bank. You could smoke literally anywhere. Now you can't even smoke in your own apartment because the entire building has gone smoke-free.

Good job. Everyone that wants to be clean will find a way and it’s the hardest thing I think any person can go through. Hang in there. If no one else says it. I’ll say it. I’m proud of you. I been sober 2.5 years. I was hooked on hard crap too. Life’s so sweet and on those sour days.

I also started smoking at 16. The first time I quit was at age 26, and I did that cold turkey. It only lasted 2 years. I am now again going into my 2nd year nicotine-free. I purchased cocoa cigarettes from Amazon and my doctor Rx'd me Nicotine lozenges.I always ask for cinnamon flavor in lozenges or gum where available. Then I dropped the lozenges. That sucked for about 72 hours. Now I vape (zero Nicotine) berry flavors to quell the cravings for the act of smoking, and I am lucky that my insurance pays for that. I win-win. That's the difficult part about quitting, the oral fixation for cigarettes. I still have a pack of pseudo-cigarettes in the garage, just in case, but I have so far been very blessed. My lungs feel cleaner when I am inhaling flavored steam. I don't think my brain can tell the difference. I hope I've helped someone with this. If6can do it after 25 years, I know anyone else can.😬👍🎭

This is a great video. I'm addicted to nicotine myself from vaping. Like you I've found nicotine pouches to be really good and they do help me a lot. I can't get nicotine pouches at the moment so I'm trying with nicotine lozenges.

Only thing that ever worked for me is the gum. Was on it for over a year. Then I got sick of them and replaced it with regular gum! Now I’m finally free

I have always wondered why I don't get addicted to nicotine. I mean, I normally never smoke. I might accept a cigarette if I have to go out when I am very tired. A drink starts to put me to sleep and a cigarette wakes me up. My last cigarette was years ago though. I just don't go out with unpleasant people anymore. Besides nowadays there are mocktails that look like cocktails. Great invention! I do love Cuban cigars though. But then again, I might have a period of smoking one small cigarillo per week and then nothing for months or years. I do enjoy the flavour of Cuban cigars a lot. Have done it for decades. I just do not get addicted to tobacco. I think I am only addicted to coffee but maybe it is psychological.
My question: why don't some people get addicted to tobacco but still enjoy it? What is wrong with me?

Quitting nicotine for me wasn't that bad but I was only smoking for like 3 months so withdrawal wasn't very bad.
