Dr Martyn King, Chair of the Aesthetic Complications Expert Group, demonstrates the correct technique for the reconstitution of Hyaluronidase and how to perform a test patch.
Hello, I used hyaluronidase 1500 ui MCCM in powder mix with 1 ml of saline but after 2 days, i don’t have a result of dissolution , what is the problem? It’s for dissolve 1,5 ml of stylage M on lips.
It depends on how much volume/units you actually injected. You would need about 500 units of hyaluronidase to dissolve 1.5ml of Stylage M. If it is had not made any difference, I would check that the hyaluronidase is the correct drug, obtained from a reputable pharmacy and is in date and has been stored correctly as I suspect it has lost its potency.
Was there liquid or powder in that ampoule? I bought hyaluronidase, but it is liquid, should I mix it with saline? I have a 5ml made in Spain brand MCCM.
Hyalase (available in the UK) is a powder that needs reconstituting with saline or water, the products that come as a liquid formulation are generally only for mesotherapy and not suitable for dissolving hyaluronic acid fillers.
@@minamilly777 any saline can be used but it should be sterile and freshly opened. Also there are many people asking if the vision can be stored and kept in fridge. The answer is NO. We always use whatever is needed at that time and throw away the rest. Also some people mix lignocaine in it to avoid pain. But I guess that's not needed. It does sting but it's temporary.
A history of allergic reaction to wasp or bee stings represents an increased risk of allergic reaction to hyaluronidase and should be considered as a relative contra-indication37,38 as the venom of stinging insects may contain hyaluronidase and this mechanism may be the source of sensitisation in affected individuals13. Unless there is a past medical history of allergic reaction or anaphylaxis to hyaluronidase or insect bites, previous history of allergy seems unrelated for the administration of hyaluronidase39 and it can be safely performed. Drug interactions The most common interactions occur with furosemide, benzodiazepines, phenytoin, dopamine and α-adrenergic agonists so it is important to obtain a medical history. Although interactions are not particularly significant, it is best to avoid if possible. Several drugs act as antagonists to hyaluronidase including anti-inflammatory drugs (such as ibuprofen, aspirin, diclofenac), anti-histamines, mast cell stabilisers, Vitamin C, flavonoids and anti-oxidants3. Higher doses or repeated treatments may be required with concomitant use of these medicines28. Where possible, patients should be advised to stop taking non-prescribed medication in advance of treatment.
Hello as a non-prescribing nurse am I able to keep stock of this in an emergencyAnd administer accordingly similar to adrenaline thank you
Exelent🙏
What if i have 150 IU in one vial?
I understand if diluted in 5ml in 0.1ml there is 30 uI, so in 0.2ml there is 60uI and if diluted in 10 ml there is 15 uI in 0.1ml and 60uI in 0.2ml
I was thinking on similar lines
Can any saline solution be used? And also, can the Hyaluronidase solution be used again once mixed if stored in fridge?
Use isotonic saline. Less painful.

Can I store a vial away and reuse after its mixed ?
No you can't, you need to refer to the SmPC for correct storage and disposal (www.medicines.org.uk/emc/product/1505)

Hi. Is the use of filter needles required to draw up with glass ampoules, in case of glass particles being injected into the body?
Is it impossible to inject pure hyaluronidase?
Never Yours Yes, it is possible.
If it’s dissolved in 5ml, then 1ml contain 300unit and 0.2ml of it shall contain 60unit instead of 30unit I guess?
I do agree with you. It shall 0.2cc=60U in my opinion if it diluted with 5cc saline
I agree
Yes
Mixing with 10ml saline is easier, the its 150units/1ml. And correction needs 100units only.

Can you please answer? Thanks

Is there any contraindications of hyaluronidase?

Can distilled water be used?
Water for injection can be used for reconstitution, however it is a lot more painful than using bacteriostatic or normal saline.
