They formed in 2016 and released their first album in 2017. This song was created as the opening theme song for the anme show called Vladlove and is off their newest EP just released.
It still amazes me how many people have yet to hear of Lovebites since they are, in my opinion and that of many others, one of the premier metal bands on the planet right now... male or female. At the same time as being amazed, I am also slightly envious. I can still recall the thrill of excitement I experienced when encountering this band for the first time. Those who have not yet come upon them still have that exhilarating discovery to come. I implore you to watch their live videos and I'm sure that their many fans (the "Wolf Pack") will have innumerable suggestions for you. No country is keeping the flame of rock burning quite so brightly as Japan. @@salsaucedo Dude, they don't suck. I agree that they aren't as good as Lovebites, basically no one is. But they are still making good music. Aldious in particular. They have a very different sound from Lovebites, but I enjoy what they are doing.
And the best thing about Lovebites is they sing their song with English. I know music is a universal language, but being able to know and understand right away what they are singing is much much better experience imho.

After discovering them and listening to their entire discography, which encompasses several styles of metal, heavy, power, and thrash metal, I have deduced that there is no band on earth male or female playing in this musical sphere that surpasses their talent, either past or present. The discovery at your level has only just begun. You want to see a live track, start with "Holy war", a classic in their discography. And live there are many tracks that will turn your brain. To name a few "The hammer of wrath", "Scream for me", "Thunder vengeance" the opening track of their 2020 concert. The cool thing about Japan is that women have been kicking ass in every heavy genre since the late 70s, and in metal specifically since the early 80s. Lovebites are one of the latest (and quite possibly the best), but there were many before them. There were a good two dozen all-female heavy metal bands in Japan just in the 80s alone. Mary's Blood are another one of the best, but unfortunately their best material's not on youtube. The newer bands have figured out how to use social media to promote themselves, so they're getting most of the attention. About time someone is.

Other reviewers have described them as alien superheroes disguised as young women, angels sent to save us, princesses of metal, and angry bridesmaids. They have themselves said in interviews that part of their mission is to save heavy metal from darkness and obscurity. Some background: They were formed from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief metalhead and soul of the band) recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" “pocket nuke”); they went and found the two guitarists, Midori and Miyako, who were with other bands, and the whole group then found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time. Miho and Miyako compose most of their music, in collaboration with Mao, the lead composer of another band called Lightbringer, but Midori has also been getting into the act. Asami writes a lot of the lyrics. They have only been around for just shy of 5 years. They studied all the great historical metal bands going back to Purple and Sabbath, through Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Slayer etc. and they pretty much aced it all. They toured with Dragonforce in 2019, and word from those in attendance is that next time around, it will be the ladies headlining. They have incorporated some of the best of each of those bands into their arsenal, and it seems clear they’re taking it to another level. You spoke of hearing only one singer. Asami is the primary vocalist, especially in their studio stuff, but Midori, Miyako, and Miho all sing backing vocals during certain songs. One of the best examples of that is the live version of "Empty Daydream," a somewhat slower song for them where Miho, the bass guitarist, and Miyako, the brunette guitarist, both sing significant and lovely backing vocals. The intro and then the transitions should just be something as a composer you truly enjoy. LIVE is truly the only way to experience these amazing musicians and truly see just how flawless and into perfection they are. The metal community seems to be very embracing of women in bands, I think. Not everyone, of course, there are always "those people", but... Anyway, great bands such as this and Band-Maid, Crypt, Nervosa, Burning Witches, Nemophila (brand new!) and many others kick some serious ass.

Thank you for the heart. I started listening to music in the '50s, started playing in the '60s, but I was never a fan of metal. My basic philosophy was, if I can't hum it, it's not music. The brightness and light that LOVEBITES brings to metal though makes me able to appreciate their talent and enjoy their music.

It still amazes me how many people have yet to hear of Lovebites since they are, in my opinion and that of many others, one of the premier metal bands on the planet right now... male or female. At the same time as being amazed, I am also slightly envious. I can still recall the thrill of excitement I experienced when encountering this band for the first time. Those who have not yet come upon them still have that exhilarating discovery to come. I implore you to watch their live videos and I'm sure that their many fans (the "Wolf Pack") will have innumerable suggestions for you. Prepare to be astonished, turn up the volume and let the White Wolves howl!

No country is keeping the flame of rock burning quite so brightly as Japan. The number of great bands is staggering, the level of virtuoso musicianship is ridiculously high and the number of kick-ass and bad ass female rock musicians and all female and women-fronted hard rock and metal bands is unrivalled anywhere else in the world. Lovebites are better live than their studio recordings. If you react to anything from Lovebites' live concert at Zepp Diver City, Tokyo, 2020 and you can't go wrong.
All Lovebites members are well-educated, sophisticed women and insanely talented musicians at the top of their game who love to play metal but do not live the rock and rook and roll lifestyle. They prefer Louis Vuitton to ragged jeans and t-shirts, they have no drug or alcohol problems, no tattoos or piercings, they just love to play metal.

Holy war is already overplayed try suggesting so many of their other songs first, I have noticed many reactors only follow the stupid algorithm for popularity and it is up to us to strain the fake reactors out of the way.

You’re spot on in sussing that they’re good live. We have news for you, they’re BETTER live … yes, I know, sounds far fetched but in Lovebites case it’s actually true. The cool thing about Japan is that women have been kicking ass in every heavy genre since the late 70s, and in metal specifically since the early 80s. Lovebites are one of the latest (and quite possibly the best), but there were many before them. There were a good two dozen all-female heavy metal bands in Japan just in the 80s alone. Mary's Blood are another one of the best, but unfortunately their best material's not on youtube. The newer bands have figured out how to use social media to promote themselves, so they're getting most of the attention. About time someone is.
Absolutely insane (in the nice way, of course), this song. Unbelievable, what these ladies take out of their instruments. "Metal, re-invented", I often say, filled with awe.

Other reviewers have described them as alien superheroes disguised as young women, angels sent to save us, princesses of metal, and angry bridesmaids. They have themselves said in interviews that part of their mission is to save heavy metal from darkness and obscurity. Some background:
They were formed from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief metalhead and soul of the band) recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" “pocket nuke”); they went and found the two guitarists, Midori and Miyako, who were with other bands, and the whole group then found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time. Miho and Miyako compose most of their music, in collaboration with Mao, the lead composer of another band called Lightbringer, but Midori has also been getting into the act. Asami writes a lot of the lyrics.
They have only been around for just shy of 5 years. They studied all the great historical metal bands going back to Purple and Sabbath, through Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Slayer etc. and they pretty much aced it all. They toured with Dragonforce in 2019, and word from those in attendance is that next time around, it will be the ladies headlining. They have incorporated some of the best of each of those bands into their arsenal, and it seems clear they’re taking it to another level.
This is one of their most recent posts, and their first Anime track. They do everything from soulful power ballads to heavy thrash, and almost every song includes face-melting solos by Miyako and Midori. The two guitarists are quite different in style and tone. Midori (blonde ponytail) is the extrovert and speed demon; Miyako is the introvert, with the more soulful feel. Midori uses a cleaner tone, Miyako uses more distortion, pinch harmonics and pedal effects. The contrast makes their duets rich and dynamic. It doesn’t hurt that either one can smoke most of the shredders in the classic metal bands. (As another reactor said, "It seems criminal these two are allowed to be in the same band.") Miyako is also a concert-level classical pianist, and some of their songs feature her on the piano.

You spoke of hearing only one singer. Asami is the primary vocalist, especially in their studio stuff, but Midori, Miyako, and Miho all sing backing vocals during certain songs. One of the best examples of that is the live version of "Empty Daydream," a somewhat slower song for them where Miho, the bass guitarist, and Miyako, the brunette guitarist, both sing significant and lovely backing vocals. LIVE is truly the only way to experience these amazing musicians and truly see just how flawless and into perfection they are. All female bands in Japan have been around since the 1980's with Show-Ya but this band is one of the best ever to perform and be assembled and when you look at the talent in many of those other bands it is amazing.

The metal community seems to be very embracing of women in bands, I think. Not everyone, of course, there are always "those people", but... Anyway, great bands such as this and Band-Maid, Crypt, Nervosa, Burning Witches, Nemophila (brand new!) and many others kick some serious ass.

Saw your reaction yesterday for Nightwish which I loved. Then I saw you were doing Lovebites today and I was hoping you would like them too. At the moment they are probably my two favourite bands so as far as I'm concerned you have impeccable musical taste. For Lovebites I would recommend Holy War next.

Thank you for the heart. I started listening to music in the '50s, started playing in the '60s, but I was never a fan of metal. My basic philosophy was, if I can't hum it, it's not music. The brightness and light that LOVEBITES brings to metal though makes me able to appreciate their talent and enjoy their music.
