- Mockumentaires. Better than documentaries. Here's why. This video essay is part of the "Everything You Need to Know" series created exclusively for No Film School (nofilmschool.com) by Senior Post (www.senior-post.com).

i think the most famous mockumentary of all time is the office
Macrobass J the office uk was earlier and in terms of quality much better
No, Borat.
I think Modern Family is a close second.
@@humanchannel7825 Hmmm I don't know about that pal
Jake Ny really why
"What We Do In The Shadows" got me into Mokumentaries.
It is amazing
that show is so funny lol
I’m trying to make a mockumentary rn this was pretty interesting to watch

how has it been going?
SPILT BEANS WE NEED TO KNOW
This comment was also satire then
The spaghetti tree clip was an April Fools segment from BBC's Panorama from 1957.
Ken Loach had directed Cathy Come Home back in 1967, one of the first feature films to be made in the mocumentary style, long before This Is Spinal Tap.
It seems odd to discuss the remake of The Office in this context without talking about about the original - Gervais and Merchant's masterpiece which established the style as a legitimate and lasting sitcom genre in its own right.
this is an underrated video tbh
I currently own Best in Show on the video 8 format. It’s a really interesting bargain find from Henderson in Auckland.
Trailer Park Boys!
Everyone always talks about that damn show Office. They're forgetting the best mockumentary of all time. But aye, it's the way show goes
good fucking show eh? after the 6th season its not that good but the first 6 seasons are amazing
ZER BO yeah well duh it was made more later like in 2007...
ZER BO Season 7 was one of my favorites. The rest 8-12 were kinda eh but they had some good moments.
@@Order182 season 7 was ok and season 8 was pretty good season 9 and 10 were very very bad and season 11 and 12 were nice
I think trailer park boys is a good example of an extremely low budget and funny mockumentary.
“When the audience feels like they’re in on the joke” that’s when it hits (like a shroom trip)
Yay! I love videos with “Everything you need to know” in the title!
Alright so I just discovered this video and wtf first have some love and then super fast jellyfish?? Awesome video and music choice
Great video!
History of the world Part 1, not categorized as a mockumentary, but in the same vein IMO.
Highly recommend watching Saiko the large family. Its not scary and everything is left to draw conclusions- creepy mom, dysfunctional family, missing husband, and new stepdad trying to make it work. Its on youtube!
Forgotten Silver.
Is that “Superfast Jellyfish” I hear?
hellllllz yeah
I can't believe you didn't mention the radio show "This is That" on Canada CBC radio. For years, every week they would get outraged people phoning in, who weren't in on the joke and thought it was real.
That Bryan and balm thing i s a solid example of what not to do with a moxkhmentary
"Waiting for Guffman" was my first mockumentary.
I’m the 1k like. You guys know have officially hit 1k for videos
this is the stuff i like. i love the one with the terrorists
Is that "Have Some Love" by Childish Gambino in the background @ the beginning?? love that
Welcome to the conscious club!!
Whats the song name playing background on the video (around 1 min mark)?
hey all, can anyone help i need a good template of a mockumentary script does anyone know of one? there isnt much info surprisingly
It might help to adopt the standard documentary format, then add absurdity or what ever you want to add to make it a mockumentary.
Just make a documentary, look at the office or surf's up for ideas
3:20 please someone tell me the song name
4:34 ummm how noone notice that?
0:39 pretty packages of frosted delight...
It comes with a toy...

"The little guy. Get the feckin little guy." --Vikus Vandermewe, District 9
Is parks & rec a true mocumentary?
Wanted to use this tutorial in a High School class and BOTH versions have to show a HJ on a dock. Kinda sucks.
What is the song at 3:20???????????
Oh I found it in the credits thanks 🙏🏽 (Legend Has it) -Run The Jewels
U should watch dhrushyam 2 super interesting thriller
03:17 What mockumentary is this?

There is a difference between a Mockumentary and Pseudo-Documentary!
