Because Dixie has a lust for blood and you have to convince her to let that go for now. The only reason why they "listen" to you is because you provide them with the relief of killing. So yes, it would obviously be a charisma check.
@@genialdragon4843 the other raider factions require charisma checks too. you can try to make up sensible explanations for bethesda's lazy writing, but at the end of the day that's all that this is
@@yyakaemun All raiders are unthinking psychopaths that just want to do what they want. It's kind of insane they even managed to get into the park without shooting each other immediately. They only listen to you somewhat because you give them what they want so it should require charisma to convince them to do what they don't want to do.
I'm not here to argue that the writing in Fallout 4 is bad or not. Of course the story sucks. But adding a Charisma check requires more work than to just leave it a regular dialogue option, and that implies to me that they did think this through. The whole DLC you are told that all raider factions are at each other's throats and barely working for you at all so it's obvious that they all require charisma checks to do so.

People be talking about how they would attempt to do it with Dixie not realizing thats her entire character and how she kills people. Minus the seduction part, she would act helpless to get close to people, literally or metaphorically, then murder them.
She does have a charm though

She reminds me of a female serial killer who is a bounty target in Red Dead Redemption 2, Ellie Anne Swan. She lures men out into the forest with her sweet sounding voice and ditzy personality but then murders then. Even when Arthur or John captures her and takes her back to town she is constantly flirting in an attempt to fool the player

One of the most random encounters i had was when a man encountered a synth that looked exactly like him and had the synth at gunpoint. I chose the interrogate option which was a speech check and the synth believed i was on its side and I helped the dude kill his imposter. It was an interesting encounter.

To those wondering why there is a charisma check instead of you just ordering it, it’s because you’re not a real authority in the sense you all think, you are literally just a coalition leader between three gangs who keeps them together and on track, part of your obligation is to let them do their thing as long as it doesn’t conflict with the others and for the disciples this is their own thing so you have to use your charisma to talk them out of it, you can’t just step on their throats or else your risk that game leaving the coalition which might encourage the others leaving as the boss has failed his/her duty
It’s the same way with the Minutemen, yeah you’re doing all of this cool stuff for them but you’re still a coalition leader you’re not a king or an actual military general, you are a figurehead who keeps everybody on track and the moment you start fucking around is the moment where they stop listening

I never see this, because I always raid the raiders with my Minutemen. They didn’t handle 100+ Minutemen in Kevlar too well.

You have never done a raider run? Its pretty fun. Especially if you have settled all regions before you do it, because you get to fight every singe one. It does get a little tedious, but most basebuilding do.

That looks like a terrible loss of profit and a deplorable act of mismanaging by the Disciples' part, I could get the Pack as they so want to be abimals for the slaughterhouse, but the disciples goes way too beyond; they see too many punching boxes for their daddy and mommy issues, and too less assets to finally maximize production and profit off Nuka World's slave market.

I always got rid of the disciples during power play, so I've never seen this before.
And then I get rid of the operators and the pack. I did all the work, Nuka World belongs to ME.
Yeah. I felt so disgusted by the disciples and how they operated. That i killed every gang in nuka world. I didn't want to lower myself to a raider. But i simply couldn't in my playthrough, allow such individuals to survive. I was hoping theyd have some redeeming qualities, but no, the more i learned, the more i became quite convinced of what must be done. This random encounter proves it fr.
@@jakethesnake4040 The Operators and Pack aren't really that bad by raider standards, and the Operators specifically are less raiders and more organized crime like the Triggermen or the Strip Families from NV. It's the Disciples who are really nasty. They're probably the worst raider gang (next to the Fiends) we've seen in the Fallout series.
@@Kay-w1c the pack is the only one I really felt I could understand. The operators I ended up disliking after finding the tapes mags black and her brother sent to their parents. Just really rubbed me the wrong way, and made me hate them. Couldn't imagine killing my family for money. Post apocalypse or not, money is temporary, family is temporary, but one of them to me is much more valuable than the other.

Their parents decided to throw them out of Diamond City, defenseless and into the wasteland with nothing but the clothes on their backs and not even a single cap from the inheritance they were entitled to. Mags and William's parents were completely willing to let them perish in the wasteland all because they got into a fight with their classmates as teenagers. Furthermore it's implied in Mags' tape that their mother abused both of them for years.

To me it sounded like mags and Williams criminal activities started early, not a simple teenage fight, but actively being criminals or raiders without officially taking the title or going all in. And in response their parents threw them out and disowned them for that behavior. And in turn the two of them went full raider and killed them. But your explanation makes more sense, and it's understandable why they'd be angry
Walking in on them still standing then suddenly dropping to the ground because you approached too quickly before their animation had time to load, only for them to be so causal about being caught and about to be murdered by saying "hey" is the most Bethesda thing ever.

Let's be honest here.
Becoming a Raider Boss should have been an alternative ending for the main quest "When Freedom Calls". Just imagine Porter Gage being in the same exact situation Preston Garvey was in. The last dedicated and competent fighter of his group, That was trying to siege the Museum of Freedom.
The Nuka-World DLC was Bethesda's apology letter for dropping the ball there at the beginning.

I'll be honest they were the reason I never finished nuka world and got the achievements I killed them all and the disciples were the strongest enemies I ever fought.
They were pushovers to me, with the quantum power armor (I got an extra star core from a bug and got it early). Me and Codsworth, who I beefed up at a robot workbench, slaughtered them and the Operators like nothing. Then we went after the Pack… and I died like 12 times trying to take them out. Even went and repaired the quantum armor first because the other 2 gangs had worn it down, and pulled out the Gatling laser and nuka-nuke launcher and they still killed me like 3 more times
I haven’t seen this because I tend to get install mods that make open season better and expand its ending.
I feel like they should have given the encounter that Maxson throat slitting animation, with a little more Pizazz

I never see random encounters like this because I always go with 'Open Season' instead. My only regret is that I can't come back later and do it again.

I always turn on all the raiders after beating nuka world. I know there’s a way to have the raiders not take over the commonwealth after but it’s super tedious. You can also just not do any of their settlement quests and you’ll never piss off the minutemen
Disciples have the best raider aesthetic. Too bad their rewards aren’t as great as the others unless you’re going melee build

I have a hard time playing with the raiders in nuca world. Their lack of respect sends me into a murderous rampage.
Ya know even for the time, this is super embarrassing. She just jankily walks over and does the lamest melee animation. Hot damn man what was I thinking when I played 4.
This is why Bethesda games kinda fall flat when it comes to
dialog and story building scenes. A cutscene could make that exchange more gruesome, but in real time you have a mellow soundtrack in the background, people tied up with no concern in the world, and a very janky looking death because we all know Bethesda has some of the worst looking combat, imo. Janky hack and slash to be exact

Nuka World in my opinion was a let down. Let's look at the facts, if it's built like a fortress then maybe the minutemen, railroad, brotherhood, or even the institute for crying out loud would be interested. So instead of taking it over with the Raiders you could take it over for the factions that exist in the commonwealth. Give the good guys options. As for the bad guys round. If you take over one park for a gang that should be an option where you can rally the troops and take the an entire section of the park for that specific gang. Not to mention there should have been an additional ending to Fallout 4 added. Think about it, instead of the Raiders using slaves who nag and whine about sleep and eating they could raid The Institute enslave the scientists their, and use the Gen 1 2 and 3 as slaves. Not to mention after you take care of one of the gangs, there'd be a power vacuum and you should have the option to fill it. Whether it's gunners, the forged, or at least a made up gang if you obliterated every gang in the commonweath. And if you have the robot dlc, my favorite, you should be able to recruit the rust devils. Oh not bloodthirsty enough gangs for you? How bout if you got far harbor get trappers? All I'm saying is the DLC had potential but the best things to come out of it was: porter, problem solver, splatter cannon, throat slicer, that weird legendary gun from The Hub people, Quantum enhanced fat man attachment, arcade games, Cito, and the western revolver. Not saying the DLC is terrible but it could have been better.

I managed to get over it, but it was hard. I just told myself it isnt an RPG, its an adventure game with RPG elements. You are not playing your character, but theirs, like in most standard games.
But yes, the voiceactor as a raider is too comedic. If you want to play an actually evil monster you sound like a schoolyard bully. its pretty silly.
