- In this cinematic battle, the French battle vs Ottomans as they push towards the north of Egypt. The battle takes place near a mountain and the French bring 6,257 soldiers. The Ottomans take a position on a hill on the east side of the mountain and on an open field to the west alongside a contingent of the Mameluke army. The Ottomans' and Mamelukes' army size is 9,468 soldiers and cavalry.
This battle is NOT a historical battle. This is an online battle on Napoleon Total War with the Napoleon Total War 3 mod turned into a cinematic for your enjoyment of Total War games and battles. NTW3 is a great mod and I encourage you to try it.

What i love about NTW3 is the detail to the uniforms
The french in Egypt suffered with logistics and supplies , even had a shortage of blue dye , which the mod shows very well with them being forced to dye themselves in red , pink and many other colours , wearing an assortment of headwear

The british just had the naval fleet in the battle but they didn't do anything. that is the point about it
As far as I remember from scientific historical films, the French then lost, an epidemic broke out in the army and they hardly returned home. At the same time, the British wanted to take away from them all the drawings and artifacts, that is, all the archaeological works of the French. IT was mentioned in the Russian film about Ushakov. And later read in Internet. I failed to find much in English language sources but the Russian ones give more detailed history. This joint fleet was created against common enemy in 1798. And in 1799 It captered fortress Korfu.
The video is great! Loved it, however, I'm guessing you used the NTW3 mod...its a great mod what I hate about it however is that, artillery seems useless! Noticed how in the video the french artillery shoots an only one horse goes flying? Yeah, artillery makes barely any damage (further than point blank range), howitzers are completely useless, I would literally try to shell my friends' cannons, the howitzer ammo would literally strike on top of the horses (very close to the cannon) and it would literally make no damage! Also the musket inaccuracy is way to exaggerated, I get that they actually were inaccurate but there is no way I can only kill 4-5 men when firing from point black range! A range where you shoot and charge! And don't even get me started on the low amount of funds the devs give you on multiplayer battles and how only the peninsula and ottoman campaigns work and in v9 of the mod they made all of these things even worse, limiting the amount of units to 19 on custom battles, even though I had more money to spend and the devs have put 30 slots! 19 units? Its not medieval times, its napoleonic times, give me the ability to build a larger army! Anyway I went on way too long of a rant XD

And that's juste for the battle of "les Pyramides".

you shouldnt trust all sources you read especially ones from battles i highly doubt the french killed thausends of ottomans and only lost 30 just think how this could even be possible even a single volley from ottoman line infantery should kill more then 30

@@leduoanime9156 i looked it up what i see is on wikipedia is that onyl french sources made by napoleon himself are written the truth is the turks didnt even had an army there only a local egyptian bey whos army was made of a few thausend mamlukes and the local farmers who where forced to fight when napoleons 25000 troops marched on them the mamlukes charged them but the french square formation pushed them to retreat after the mamlukes retreated the french army sloughtered the local farmers napoleon of corse couldnt write that they only killed civlians so he made the story of thausends of ottoman soliders etc

I hate to interrupt but... This battle didn't involved any Napoléon's troops if I'm correct... This was a battle fought between the ottomans and some habsburg coalition in 1596... Good animation nonetheless.

Whoever was the French Commander was an idiot! How do you lose your cannons in the opening of a battle? Also, he used his cavalry extremely poorly, which lead to this disaster for the French. Finally, where were the reserves????
there were many mistakes, the French made. Since they were 4 commanders controlling the French, it seems their communication and coordination was not up to par.

I mentioned in the description that it's not a historical battle. This is an online battle in a game with a story behind it. In reality, Napoleon had enormous success in Egypt.
