🛠️2023 RANGER RAPTOR SUSPENSION LEVELLING KIT INSTALL - CTB Performance.

- I have been looking at all different setups in regards to the Raptors suspension. These Perch kits have been used on American F150 Raptors and looks like a good soultion to level out the ride height. Next steps from this setup could be internal suspension changes but I'm not yet convinced on that mod based on feed back I've heard.

Appreciate your common sense around mods. Helping me a lot with what direction ill go with mine. Cheers from NZ
Thanks for watching mate 👍🏼
@@TyFenwick Would be cool for you to test drive a 2023+ Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 Bison and compare it to a 2023+ Ranger Raptor with 35's and lift collars. Would bet that a full sized 35×12.50r17 (Nitto, Toyo or Maxxis MT) would fit on the Bison 😉😋😁. I would get 35×12.50r17 Mickey Thompson Baja Boss MT for more serious off roading(but still having good street manners) or 35×12.50r17 Yokohama G003 for touring as they are a smaller tyre or 315/70r17 Toyo/Nitto MT's.
Great job
That’s insane, great stuff
Thx bro answered so many questions I had for my Raptor
Thanks for watching mate ! Share with ya friends 😎👍🏼
No related but I brought a new ranger raptor this year it has been the best car I tow 1.8T every day and it does it great. Yes I know there not designed for it but that 3.0L petrol under the hood is a beast, 19,000 kilometres on it and zero issues
I love mine as well ! Sickest vehicle ! 😎🙌🏼
The 1.8 t tow must be a extra fuel tank
I really wish we could get some of those products in the states such as caps and these perch kits. I would love a factory looking cap that can hold a tent along with the battery pack and other products I doubt we will ever see state side
I ship to the US mate ! Jump on my website and grab some here:

Thanks for sharing bro, looking forward to what you're going to do in the rear. I guess if you aren't carrying weight should be sweet as is! I went the King Spring KFRR-121 as I got a bit of weight. Rides alright!
Yeah man mines just a daily. The Ftruck is for traveling etc so I probably won’t be doing anymore to the suspension. 😎👍🏼
I'm sold on the maxliner canopys just got a ranger meteor grey and not sure on the 2 tone option is it likely to be hotter having the black roof
And looking at the grey on your which looks like you went with the 2 tone option what would you option be?
I have the CTB perch kit and it’s awesome, also have airbags in the rear and hardly any difference in ride quality
Stoked you love the CTB kit 👍🏼
One thing does it now on full compression close the spring to lock solid before it hits the bumpstop if it does it will destroy the strut.
No it does not do that. I’ve hit full compression everyday in mine, no issues
Hey brother, love your work.
Raptor looks fresh as
Would you recommend the perch after adding bull bar to fix the droop?
Any indication on what or if you will add any front barwork?
Yeah if you have put of a bull bar perch kit would work for that set up. 👍🏼
I don’t think Il be putting on any bar work unless I really like the design.
Thank you Ty, you are the reason why I bought my gen1 RR back in 2020. But I still dont get why we should not use spacers (1 inch or so) on the top of the spring. My truck is in stock setup but the left side (driver here) sagged about 15mm after 3 years and 45k. The diesel tank + def tank + 120kgs driver are all on the same side😂.
A spacer increases the overall length of your shock so if you jump your raptor the components like cv’s can travel further then factory intended. I know from experience as when I was younger I had spacers and they caused me so much drama.
Can you level the rear as well. I'm fitting a canopy and dual battery with a fridge and slide
We had a customer who said they used the kit in the rear and it works.
Hey champ I’ve put a canopy on mine and the rear has dropped. Would you recommend these for the rear shocks too?
CTB have notified me that a customer did fit this kit to the rear so it works. However i have not yet tested that to confirm myself.
spices or spacers should not be used in suspension? ;-)
I need some help. I need to do an alignment asap but I live in Greece and the shops don't have the correct numbers for this specific car. Is there any chance you could provide me with the alignment specs for the next gen Ranger Raptor? Thank you
@tyfenwick
whats the difference between putting spacers at the top right up on the mount compared to that of ctb perch kit which is below the coil springs??
Spacer on top increases the length of the shock potentially causing cv damage. Perch kit does not as it maintaining the factory shock length.
@@TyFenwick thanks im looking forward to your other videos
I dont think i caught it in the video. How much lift do the collars provide. 1.5"?
In the end of the video we show ride height changes ?
Just subscribed, picked up the raptor 3 days ago.
Been 4ish weeks, have you run into any issues if any since the install?
Does it feel any different then stock?
Appreciate your work 🙏 🙌
Thanks for subscribing, so far I like them.
Rides a bit firmer in the front but with 35’s I like that. I’m very happy with how it performs.
@TyFenwick yeah fair call, thanks bro.
Keen to see what's planned 👀
@TyFenwick yeahhh bro got the perch kit today, wheels and tyres next week 😎 🙌
Hey mate, what brand of antenna are you using on your bonnet bracket?
It’s a WEBOOST 👍🏼
Good evening from faraway Greece, the extension is only for the front shock absorbers, for the rear what should be done?
CTB have notified me that a customer did fit this kit to the rear so it works. However i have not yet tested that to confirm myself.
How much higher does the car go? does it really help to fit larger wheels to dimension?
we are waiting for your opinion if you find out news about the rear wheels!!!@@TyFenwick
your still trading down travel for up travel, where as a small strut spacer you retain that ratio, still a nice product!!
The collar gives full stroke up and down without impacting on any other component. It also gives me more control on harder landings after a jump, there’s more compression on the spring. It’s been awesome to jump as I’m not pushing though the range of travel as quick on impact.
A spacer makes the shock longer so at full droop you’ll put stress on CV’s and other components.
Had the perch collars and it makes the suspension so much stiffer. Took them off and use a rough country puck instead
I disagree, the perch kit is much better option then the spacer.
But each to their own. A spacer will change the geometry of the suspension potential causing cv issues.
@@TyFenwick incorrect. Ran both. The geometry change is a load of bullshit.
@@TyFenwick Perch collars and spacers are both not the best to run... revalve and spring replacement is the proper way to lift these raptors
Thanks for the info mate, where are these guys located?
I sell the kits on my website site. Then Rod is at Tea Gardens NSW
Would you still option for springs and re valve?
Na I think I’m happy with the perch kit now.
Ty did you end up having to get the front shocks reset by Ford after fitting this leveling kit ? I was wondering, as I’d like to get the same guys you used to fit the same kit; after I fit a front bar. Matt
Hi mate, no I haven't done anything. I fit them and drive it, recalibration is not required in my opinion.
Have you considered limiting straps to keep the suspension from over extending? Do you know if anyone is selling these at this time?
Don’t need limit straps, suspension can’t over extended like with a spacer. The perch kit keeps factory geometry.
Can you still jump the raptor like you would stock with the leveling kit and 35’s?
Yep jump mine everyday
Hello my best friend.... Nice to see you.... I hope to you have everything better for your vehicle.... Please anything you make to your vehicle or upgrade tell ford factory about it.
Sorry if its been asked before but whats the chunky arial on the bonnet?
Weboost antenna
@@TyFenwick ahh got ya 👌
did you have to do any modification to fit the 35s?
Check out my method install video I explain there.
So tell me what’s the big difference between putting a spacer on top, then placing one in the middle or bottom of the spring?
Top spacer increases overall shock length to increase height.
Perch kit keeps shock length the same but compresses spring to increase ride height.
Could have also gone with a spacer on top of the bottom-plate.... is exactly the same effect
Hi bro just a curious question. Are the front fox shocks of our RR interchangeable? Right to left/vice versa? Thanks.
I can’t see why not but could be, never tried swapping them.
@@TyFenwick thanks for the response Ty. Was just a thought. Long time subscriber here. Keep it up!
Look at min 7:25 the label of shock said "left", so probably are different.
Mines got a saggy rear. Probably too much weight. What should I do?
If you have a fair bit of weight mate id do a spring upgrade and see how ya go.
Do you think adding the collars while running 35’s you would not need to alter your mudflaps mate? Can you get full compression now without scrubbing out? Thanks bud
Though the range of suspension travel that’s never going to change regardless. If you’re turning and the suspension compresses it’s still going to scrub in same location. Full compression it still scrubs with 35’s slightly with perch kit.
What about 35 offset wheels.
Hi brother. Happy New Year. I just bought one Raptor and is looking for a hit of hight. Do you still recomend it? Tks and sorry for the question. Onde more sub. Cheers from Brasil.🇧🇷
Happy new year mate. Yes absolutely still recommend this set up 👍🏼
Hi brother, sorry again. They dont send it to Brazil from the website. Do you know someone that can send it to me?
Whats the size the hight of the collar do you know? Tks again for everything. 🇧🇷
Mate any recommendations for springs as no one will do a perch collar install for me where I am.?
I wouldn’t recommend springs. Any mechanical workshop should fit them. Where are you located ?
@@TyFenwick I'm on the Goldcoast.
Seems everyone will only fit accessories they provide, some insurance warranty nonsense.
what size of wheel an tires
czcams.com/video/dVb85qYSBeo/video.htmlsi=FTTLfy659BBPdPYG
Tried to contact CTB to ask a few questions, something didn't work on the website, may be you can help..
Just wonder what is the differences between that to a up spacers..?
Seems to me that in prech collar I'm losing suspension travel and compressing the spring and with an upper spacer I just push down, the geometry will change due to that.. But no direct impact on the actual suspension
Please educate me..
Cheers
Elad
Hi mate,
A spacers on the top of the strut will mess with all your geometry leading to potential breakages.
I run the perch kit in mine and suspension travel has never been an issue for me. You maintain full down travel of the shock, under compression it give you more clearance with 35s.
Perch kit is no brainer, I push my raptor hard everyday doing 50ks of dirt road.
Go perch kit mate you won’t be disappointed.
Hi Ty, tell me is this a 1.5” lift?
It’s around that, levels out the front with rear so Raptor sits dead level. In the video towards the end we give you height specs
Whats it like at full droop and compression? Still scrubbing?
I’ve been in USA so haven’t driven it much other then what I mentioned in the video at the end. So far it hasn’t scrubbed at compression jumping it
One thing to note when doing perch collars is that the ride height has to be set on fordscan/forescan.
OK that's interesting. I wonder how much effect that will have on the live valve? It may help with that additional firmness.@@5L_Eater
@@dannyrexknight you have to reset the ride height on forscan otherwise the shock still thinks it has droop that it no longer has.
what is your take on the perch kit now 5-6 months down the track ?
It’s been awesome! 🙌🏼 no issues at all.
Bloody brilliant i have a raptor on order and am picking it up next month so this will be something i will look at doing once the front end settles and drops 👌
will these fit American spec RR?
Yes
Thanks👍@@TyFenwick
do you send to mexico?
Yes
Miss the F Truck.....
There's no such thing as a free lunch. I can't stand perch collars-they totally compromise the ride comfort for me. I'm all about small spacers, like 15 mm for a 1" lift, not those bulky 2" blocks. Sure, they might tweak the geometry a tad, but it's inconsequential for performance."
Each to their own. We have had great success with these and ride is awesome
Mikes shock shop mate, re-value the shocks
I heard mixed things about that… I need to drive a raptor done with it first.
So after all that, it’s the exact same as a spring lift, and spacers are still better.
If you change the springs then you’ll loose the factory spring rate. Spacers are rubbish.
@@TyFenwick what’s wrong with spacers? Genuinely curious? You keep the factory ride, and the shocks work as per factory.
@@wizzylizzy69 in this case i think spacers in top of the shock might be better than perch kit or longer spring without revalve the shock. You lose the factory spring rate anyways if you compress the springs with perch kit.
❤🧡💛💚💙
You got to be kidding why did engineers even bother
Engineers did a great job ? I’m glad they did bother… but stink bug don’t look good in my opinion
What are you doing? You're voiding the warranty!
Only if it’s proven the modification caused a warranty issue.
Pity for such a great truck they are no good for towing or at least carrying a decent canopy oh well it is what it is
There always compromises when it comes to performance. I’d want a standard ranger with leaf springs if I was going to put on a canopy.
Years of engineering but couple of hours to fix it lol😂😂😂
I wanted it level, can't get that from factory rear need to be higher to carry weight.
Personally I think that modify a raptor is a waste of money
Mmm I disagree. There awesome stock but I like to make my own 🙌🏼
