Join the concrete crew as we finish prepping this project for the pour. I took a few extra steps that will ensure this job lasts a long time but I will be lucky to make any money. It's the right thing to do and I am NOT upcharging the customer. It's better to do the job right than to have it come back and bite you in the future. Enjoy - Zábava

Once you opened up this old slab why didn't you show the customer what you found inadequate subsoils and charge for the 18" of excavation and stone fill?
Thank your criminal government for the cloud seeding to destroy the American way
These debt consolidation companies are predatory and take advantage of people. I would hope you had higher standards in your paid promotions.
There's a difference between being in good debt and being able to pay everything off E:g paying off a car or a house people have good debt, some people on the other hand have so many loans out they are falling behind and can't make payments (bad debt) these companies target bad debt don't forget if you are making payments bringing in another company will not save you money but could possibly save your house for another 5-1o years and hopefully you get back on top in that time
They need a sweeper attachment for the skid steer
This customer is very lucky he hired Victory because there are a lot of contractors out there that would not wear the extra cost and effort of grading this job properly. Props to you Ryan.

@@deadplanb7919 Guy whos worked for Ryan in the past, his mom is also the main desk person at the Schmitz plant he goes to for concrete.
You should try talking to your concrete supplier, they sometimes have reclaimed aggregate that they will sell reasonably for filling in jobs like this, they still have cement residue mixed in with some sand, so compaction is really good. I used to use it for jobs specifically like this one.
This is the best comment.
If I'm not mistaking I think Mike gets his stone from shmitz where Ryan gets his concrete
I have been doing commercial design work for the past 20 years. My CONTRACT states if there is extra work above and beyond the contractually defined SCOPE of WORK.........I will request an Additional Service Fee, before proceeding with the project.
That way I dont have to EAT the costs of unforeseen and unknown issues on projects.
Hidden conditions. That's what we also include things like this under. In remodeling old homes he will definitely find hidden conditions, :-)
@@nbco55 When I design remodel projects, its not a question of IF we will find concealed hidden issues, its just a question of WHEN !
Yeah I would think most contractors would explicitly state they can ask for an overage charge if the job requires extra material or labor for unforeseen issues that couldn't have been known at the time of giving the bid.
Exactly, that’s a change order
@@burimduka1705 In my universe, its an Add Services Fee. Most projects end up with at least a 25% add services increase over the base fee.

I’m always busy so I usually don’t comment on every video but when I do I always give thanks. You’re a very good person.

Congratulations to Ryan Jr and Autumn. Good job you two.
Ryan thanks for all the videos. I’ve been watching since around 8000 subscribers. I was injured doing concrete back in 2020 and am still dealing with the back injury and serious pain after two surgeries. I’m only 33 now and your videos have helped me get through some rough times. Ppl getting upset about the sponsor 15 sec part. Like it's illegal to fast forward the sponsor part. You know back in the ole days we had to sit through the commercials on tv. You younglings have it EASY now😂.

Before all work, should be marking out any hiden items as sich like the Sprinkler Systems, before Damaging them & then repairing or replacing them.
This crew doesn't think of the 3 miles ahead of them ... JUST barely the 3 feet in front of them ..... maybe ............. And THAT hurts the "bottom line" of ANY business .....
@@esousa486, boss man should ask , and talk to customers about these things when hes at the site measuring and looking at it for the estimate!! These types of unforeseen problems should be in the work proposal and or contract signed by customers before work begins! When doing removals, you should have that money before starting the job. Then the customer would understand the changes in work orders. If you dont know,, I can understand. But this guy says hes been doing this for 30yrs. He is not very good at running a concrete company.
How you gonna find sprinkler lines mr gens? 811 doesn't mark those out. Sprinkler line are almost impossible to find. They literally go everywhere

I used to work for a company that built bridges and there were several layers of rebar the whole span of the bridge some rebar in certain areas was 1 inch. We would spend 2 weeks (sometimes longer depending on the length of the bridge) just putting rebar down and tying it all by hand. Wish we would have had one of them fancy tying machines lol
How was your back after a day of that?

Happy Birthday 🎉 Ryan, and a huge Congratulations to Ryan Jr what an absolute awesome accomplishment for him May God continue Blessing your family ❤
I can't understand how a large oil leak is found on the dump truck that has been leaking for who knows how long, and none of the drivers think to immediately check the oil level on the truck. Every driver should check fluid levels on any piece of equipment they operate before they start it. That would have shown a leak before it gets to the point where an engine is damaged. The guys spend more time going to the bathroom than they do watching out for Ryan's expensive equipment. There's no excuse for not doing your job.
Ryan does say “We only check the oil once a year”
It's all part of the "views show"!!! Scripted CZcams at it's best!!
Is this the same truck that just came back from the mechanic?
The tandem was also over at his mechanics shop for god’s knows how long and he never noticed it
That doesn't seem to be a worry of Ryan's. He comes in some mornings and starts the trucks before the drivers are there. They're his trucks so he can do what he wants but that's how equipment gets ruined.
Can't wait to get back to hr long videos 😅😂😂 love ya victory

Ryan, rebar tie gun trick - use the claw of a hammer to lift the rebar with one hand and the tie gun in the other. Faster, and saves bending over a few inches. Doesn’t seem like much, but it’ll make a world of difference for the guy’s backs.
Well said. Bending over slightly more doesn’t seem like much until you’re on your couch wondering why it’s so hard to get up

An honest approach is the best approach
When you discover that a job has issues with the ground, such as insufficient support, why do u not give them an updated quote to cover the additional costs for materials like gravel, rocks, and rebar. If the client is unwilling to pay for these necessary materials, you should inform them that the concrete will likely deteriorate within a year or two. To protect yourself legally, you should have a lawyer draft a contract that includes a clause where the client acknowledges that you have advised them of the potential for premature concrete failure
I was wondering the same thing, unforseen comlications.
He may have talked tothe owners about it !Just isnt going to mention it on the video!
Careful he might block you
@@tnolan3176 Yeah ofcourse he has, but where im from if theres "unforseen extra work / extra building materials" the customer pays for it, ofcourse after they have agreed to it. like for example that job ryan did theres clearly something wrong with the ground.

If you are planning to use a Debt Firm please research how much of the Debt is being serviced and how long it will take to clear it with these payments.
Most Debt Companies are experts in keeping the wolves from your door by making the very minimum payment which may only be servicing the interest on what you owe.
In effect you will be left beholding to the Debt Company for ever and a day but ultimately still owe what you borrowed.
Do your research and perhaps look at a quicker way to pay it off .
Ie take a second job and use that money to service your own debt with it.
Take control yourself.
A debt firm is a short term solution to a very long term problem.
21:22 when people do this sound (tss) my favorite thing to say is "wow what a flat tire" i always get EVERYONE around me to start saying it 🤣 love it, def my favorite dad joke 😂
You should have a soil clause on your contract , with the option to "change order" , to allow for extra Stone and dumps
That needs to have some drainage put in or that will be a big problem. Drainage tile
If your not making money on this job then you should have a provision in your contracts for unforeseen issues such a this and the customer should pay more. Period.
Because most home owners would lose their minds. They are clowns
Ya the excavation is unknown until you dig quote should reflect that
Agreed. Should only be an extra clause regarding “unforeseen circumstances” or something alone those lines surely.
Ryan’s making hundreds of thousands off CZcams he can eat this job for content
At the very least a conversation should be had.
"Hey we can put our base down and pour the concrete back on the existing subsoil like our contract states, and it will look the way the old driveway looked in 10 years. Or for $X more, we can excavate the gushy soil, add rock and reinforcement, and it will last a lot longer."
I have had conversations like this with customers before and they have always received it well. You don't know what you can't know until you start.
Instead of digging more and bringing in more stone, you should have installed a drainage system under the slab. Also, to save yourself in your contracts, you should add a section about unknown conditions. Then it wouldn't come out of your pocket, the homeowner would be responsible
Yesterday I was looking forward to a Victory upload then I remembered it was only Tuesday.

You are 100% correct about fixing it right in the beginning and then you won’t have any issues down the road. I understand you bid a job, but if I was the customer, I think I would understand that things come up that was not visible to you on the bid. No reason for you to take a huge loss or drastic cut in profits.
You guys dig that out 16" of bad dirt and dump the gravel and didn't compacted in Layers and only used that little compacter for all that gravel it doesn't seem right to me on my opinion, it should have been compacted in layers period.
When the dirt subbase is spongey or soft you can change the composition of the grade lines from horizontal to vertical by tossing a few bags of Portland which contains lime. The base will sturdy up to ensure a solid base

NO BULL. -- You spoil your crew too much smile
Hi Ryan and Crew from Ireland . Maybe you might think about getting a concrete crusher to recycle the old driveways for under the new ones Love the channel
Hey Ryan... Just an FYI that may help you. I do Excavation & Concrete mainly, and when I do concrete I'm super up front with my pricing where the customer is concerned. I think we are a lot alike to be honest. Anyway, I tell every customer that there are only 2 things that make my invoice higher than my estimate. The first is if they add anything to the job; obviously right. The second is if I find topsoil or an otherwise bad subbase under the existing concrete that I'm about to rip out. In older homes around my area, there are a lot of trees right next to flatwork, and there are a lot of homes where the flatwork was placed directly on sod, topsoil or otherwise poor subbase and not compacted correctly to boot.
If you're not joking about "hoping you break even" on this job, then I recommend you do the same as what I do in this regard and charge for doing all that extra dirt work and backfill.
Never do extra work for free. Period.
Ryan takes the shovel, breaks the water head, and says, "i didn't do that" 😅😅😅😅
Boss privilege
This stone call scallings we used it for patio and driveway sub base in England 👍
If I were you I'd buy some 3-in flexible pipe with the 57s already wrapped around it with filter fabric and then place that right down the middle of the driveway and that would pull that water away rapidly down to the end and it could just percolate out somewhere.
"No good deed goes unpunished" - I cannot help but feel like this is going to backfire - this despite redoing the substraight. Just an opinion - I think there is still a subsoil water issue and that swale isn't going to cut it long term. I would have done a post hole to see just how deep the problem is then talk with the client to work out a new cost and terms. Thats just me.
I see another bonus coming up. If they get caught on the phone that is 1% deducted for the week or however you do the your bonus. Each time they get caught on the phones they’ll get another 1% deducted which could end up being a 0 bonus when you give your bonus.
