- Let me introduce myself: My name is Jennifer McCormick.
I grew up on a small family farm in New Castle. My community was full of spirit and support, and the public school was the community’s front porch. Neighborhoods were filled with kids, and families had an opportunity to thrive. Yet, as good-paying jobs left my community, I saw families, small businesses, schools, and local infrastructure suffer.
I spent a decade as a special education and language arts teacher before becoming a public school principal and superintendent for nearly 15 years. In 2016, I successfully ran for state superintendent of public instruction to be a champion for Hoosier kids. As state superintendent, I took on politics that were negatively impacting our schools and fought for what was right for kids, teachers, and parents.
Now, I'm running for governor of Indiana because it’s time to put Hoosiers first. I will bring common sense and bipartisanship back to the statehouse. I've already proved I will stand up to out-of-touch policies that are destroying public education, stripping Hoosiers of their rights and freedoms, and leaving rural communities behind.

Indiana hd become a joke. I’m ashamed to say I live here. Broke, slow to progress, terrible jobs and pay, and sad broken down cities. I’m conservative and voting liberal. Nothing will change if we keep voting the exact same thing year after year while watching our state shrivel at the hands of old out of touch conservative republicans. Look at the cities we DO have that are thriving, all democrat mayors. I’m sorry but I’m done with the Bible parade, you have my vote!
Good decision. At one time, I voted Republican, but that ship sailed for me years ago because I got fed up with that party. I vote Democrat now because they stand for things that are more beneficial to the majority of the people. The Repub party has become fascist. They certainly are not conservative anymore

GOP has WAY too much power in Indiana. You elect Mike Braun, its another 8 years of Marijuana prohibition.
Why are we not see this ad across the air ways. This needs to air everyday across the State in order to get the message out there that it's time a new party and a New leader to lead and Govern our State.
While I agree that we need new leadership, this spot is absolutely TERRIBLE.
Go Jennifer! Good listening skills and not being driven by the need for power have always enabled you to understand the issue and fight for the right solution for your constituents! I hope you show all politicians how many important issues can be addressed and solved in a bipartisan way when being truly focused on people's needs and well-being.
What is your stand on LGBTQ rights and specifically on Gender Affirming care?

My life is forever ruined.🙄 Perhaps you would like to look at her July 30, 2020, memorandum sent to School Administrators, Educators, Curriculum Directors, School Counselors RE:National Social Justice Standards and the Indiana Academic Standards where she includes Teaching Tolerance (Southern Poverty Law Center) created National Social Justice Standards
(SJS) that were released in June 2019. There are 20 standards that are grouped into four
overarching topics: Identity, Justice, Diversity, and Action. These 20 standards are not
content-based but rather based on skills of action and student self-awareness. Culture, citizenship,
and advocacy are woven throughout these standards.
