You could perhaps say that she's . . . prejudiced.
Ain't that the truth...
It's kinda scary but at the same time wonderful that Lydia is the most reliable narrator in the series. Well, one could make an argument in Charlotte's favor, but still. Lydia sees things mostly as they are and, unlike Charlotte sometimes, isn't afraid to say it how it is.
i hate lydia
there's always one sibling in the family that sees things how they are, and from what I've seen, it tends to be the youngest (whenever my oldest younger brother and I argue, my youngest brother is always the one to separate us). It's easier to be realistic when you've grown up seeing how things are
I dont think she portrayed it accurately.
Definitly didn't do Jane well.
The dad is suposed to be more laid back. Lizzie is suposed to mostly be polite to Darcy's face (except torwed the end of neitherfield visit, where she had lost it.)
Pluss Darcy before neitherfield (the only one Lydia knows) was always covering his shy parts with Arrogance and being kind of a jerk.
If Lizzie was really that mean, Darcy would have to be a TOTAL idiot to not know she did not like him. In original P&P she only ever let a few, playfully witty, mean comments out which is why he had no idea she hated him.

This Lydia is actually much brighter than the original Lydia, which I love. Mr Collins is also more endearing, but i love what they did with every character to make them fit the modern world
Almost four years later, and "binging as one" is still probably the funniest thing I've ever heard.
This Lydia version is waaaaaay better and "tolerable." Lol. Two annoying characters making them lovable. Love the actors.
She's not better. She's too different from the Lydia in the books to be really comparable.

I love how Lydia points out the truth about Lizzie's reaction to Darcy. Lizzie sees what she wants to, and like it or not, Lydia perceives the world much more clearly.

It's taken until 30 years old....but now I'm resentful of Lizzie not wanting to hear about a profitable job being offered to her on a plate lol.
Collins being confused as to why Lydia hates him so unconditionally as she pretends to be Lizzie and him Darcy is a perfect allegory for how she treats Darcy.
The details of why Lydia lost the car privileges turn out to be somewhat different than I had imagined.
What was the reason?
SRSH93 As described in the book The Secret Diary of Lizzie Bennet, Lydia lost her car privileges for making a papier mache model of her pony Mr. Wuffles and leaving it in the backseat of Mrs. Bennet's car, where it melted and presumably made a huge mess.

I love how the filmmakers here made Collins the same age as Lizzie and Charlotte. In the book he was 25 to Lizzie's 20 and Charlotte's 27. But in the 1995 and 2005 adaptations they made him look late 30s/early 40s.
