Jeez...Jamaica Estates has changed so much. People may have money, but when it comes to renovating and remodeling homes, they certainly have no style.
Money doesn't buy taste
@@ryadhasanahmed5443 Very true! Or class
U sound like my grandpa who’s lived here for 50 years.
It's not a question of renovations, but of tear-downs. They'll just get rid of the house that was there, and build their monstrosities in their place. It's heartbreaking to see.
@@gerberjoanne266 Whatever it is....they look horrid.
Your in my neighborhood and passed my friends house on Henley. Jamaica Estates should have gotten historic status because it used to be a tree lined paradise with Tudor and colonial homes and felt like you were in another country. Now people tear down the beautiful homes and put up monstrosities and take away the lawns. They just want to advertise that they have money. No taste or style. It's sad!!!
One problem with Jamaica Estates is that, a long time ago, the Jamaica Estates Association failed to win historic district status for the neighborhood. That status was granted, for instance, to Forest Hills Gardens, Queens, and Park Slope, Brooklyn. This turned out to be a problem, as the architectural quality of the neighborhood became uneven as people began building with minimal guidelines.
What a shame. It all starts to look like Staten Island ugh
It sounds like your car dont need to be in that neighborhood 😂
You’re right
I was thinking that.
😂😂😂😂
Wow.....😂😂😂🤣
Doesn't CZcams pay enough that u could afford to install a quiet less noisy muffler incorporated into every video audio! LoL
Great driving young man. Cool calm collection getting points across no bs. You got a future kid i hope you get a million subscribers.
Thanks man I’m going for it

Jacob Karlin thanks for the love!
@@MOONEYDashCam they call them "Neighborhoods" in the city, towns or townships
Are a suburban phenomenon. Technically, all the neighborhoods are part of NYC, regardless of borough. Towns or townships are their own cities, entities or municipalities, etc.
Thank you for your videos. Very informative. As for Jamaica Estates, one thing important to note is this is where the Queens Borough President, Donald Manes lived. He was being indicted on a bribery /corruption scandal circa 1985-86. He committed suicide I believe in his home in Jamaica Estates. The story was huge at the time and he served as Borough President a long time 1971-1986.
I used to live in the neighborhood next to it called Jamaica Hills. A beautyful neighborhood and beautyful big houses as well. One neighborhood next to each other. Both exclusive.
Thanks Mooney, that was great! I grew up in Whitestone, so I wasn’t too far from Trump’s home. And my dad’s office was in Queens Village; not too far either. Wow, getting homesick for the old neighborhood! Looking forward to your next video.
Groovy in Arizona
Why So many People from queens moved to Arizona I Knoe a lot.
@@elijahashman9716 - Not sure if that’s true. Most people I know from Queens move to Florida. Florida is doing really well financially, politically, etc., but too flat, too many bugs, high humidity and too crowded. I much prefer Arizona! 🌵😃

Personally I think you’re driving is fine. Didn’t Mr McDowell in the Eddie Murphy movie “Coming to America” live in Jamaica Estates?
LOL 😂

YES!!
If you ever seen Belly with Nas and DMX, they had a mansion in the Estates as well.
😆❤️👍🏽
Show Andrew Cuomos house.
How his Dad afforded that on his salary is still a mystery to us who lived in Queens
I would’ve went past it I didn’t even know it was there

I drive by there all the time and never knew that, thanks for the history lesson! 😎👍
Sounds like ur engine needs a tune up? Trumps house is not considered a mansion really. It’s just a nice, large house. My Grandfather used to live next to Fred Trump and played poker with him 3 times a week. He watched Donald grow up! 🤣🤣
Hell yeah! Just checked in yesterday to make sure I was still subscribed cause it's been awhile.
👊👊
Thanks for the tour. I appreciate how when reading about places, like the Jamaica Estates, I can go into CZcams and find videos of the real location.
Rozanna Bejin that’s the goal. I’m glad you enjoyed
I commented asking about this house on your 50 cent video and now CZcams suggests this to me. Thanks for doing this
In a way, March was a good time to take this drive, as you can see the houses better while the trees are still bare, and thus have unobstructed views of them. But another great time to go is at the end of April and the beginning of May, when the neighborhood's many azalea bushes are in bloom. That's a sight to behold. Um, assuming they're still there.
This was exciting to see Our Great President’s Home , in Queens New York,, It’s a Beautiful Neighborhood and Beautiful Beautiful Home , Thank you 😊 Your Talking and Driving was Awesome👏🏻
Glad to see a new video up bro 🤘🏼👍🏼

Sounds like my Jeep 4.0 with a couple of broken bolts in the exhaust manifold. Nice video, Mr. Mooney. Thank you. Regarding our President, I love the guy.
@Alex Lopez he has an opinion. I don't like him that much either but you can't call anyone stupid or ignorant on their opinion.
@Alex Lopez No, Alex. If you met me the last thing you'd think was that I was stupid and ignorant, but good luck to you regardless.
Very interesting,,Jamaica Estates is we’re prestigious folks from queens move to when your money is up to Mark. It’s nice!
I knew a couple aspiring rappers living there, most parents are either doctors or Diplomats.
Born and raised in NYC and I ain't never been to Jamaica Estates. I always wanted to know what it looked like though thanks for finally showing me

Cool video, so the president grew up near St.John's U. Upper Middle Class neighborhood. Like the trees.
Thank you for the tour and that interesting facts it's been a long time since I've been to that neighborhood I had friends there
I knew you were making a video, I heard it on your old mans video with the walkie. 👍
Go to Addeleigh Park where James Brown and many other musicians lived, mostly jazz musicians...
Oh yeah. I take my walk around there on Murdock ave a few times a week. Real nice houses.
@@Mikegee63 such beautiful areas, both....
@@TheTruthlady What I like about Addisleigh Park is that you can't buy a house then knock it down then build some house that takes away from the character of neighborhood.
@@Mikegee63 Oh yes...that area is an official historical district. "In the St. Albans neighborhood of Queens is a suburban enclave called Addisleigh Park, a historically African-American and Caribbean neighborhood home. Although the area is rather obscure even for New Yorkers, the neighborhood was home to talented figures like Ella Fitzgerald, Jackie Robinson, Lena Horne, Count Basie, and Cootie Williams, among many others."

Another awesome video 👍
Wow. I did not know Trump grew up there. If you ever wanted to see a Tudor that was the place to go. Good job Mooney! 🙏
I used to live in Jamaica Estates on Highland Ave in a luxury apartment with my parents and Donald Trump's father built that building. We lived there for a year. Great houses in that area. Thanks for the video.
Great tour and commentary!
I have some business partners in queens in new York state.
Some of villas in queens are not bad.
As a businessman,as an art lover,I like to see beautiful houses, villas ,and castles,in different cities,in different countries.
If some of them attract me a lot, maybe I will buy them in the future.
If you get one too many I'm available to house sit!
Check out the supermarket on Jamaica Ave between 77 and 78 street in Woodhaven. Donald’s father was born in Woodhaven and built many of the businesses including that store and in the parking lot there is a sign. At the time Woodhaven was a gated affluent predominantly German neighborhood. My parents moved to 88-63 76st in 1964 and my grandparents and aunts lived on 86th Road off Forest Pkwy. It was so beautiful then. But, yes Fred Christ Trump was a proud Protestant and attended anti Catholic rallies in the 1920s.
In a supermarket parking lot, surrounded by shopping carts, stands the Woodhaven Historical Society’s monument to a native son, Frederick Christ (pronounced “krist”with i as in “bit”) Trump (1905-1999). Fred Trump’s middle name was his mother’s maiden name.
Fred Trump began building middle-class houses in Queens during the 1920s and built Trump Market here at Jamaica Avenue and 78th Avenue in the 1930s; he sold it to King Kullen shortly after he opened it, and there is still a supermarket on the site.
Wait, Donald. J. Trump said " his Dad was born in a small town in Germany"?
Run and those guys are from Hollis Queens about a mile and a half away and it looks nothing like this video! Great Video!
I grew up in many different areas of Queens. This is like taking a nice Sunday drive. Are you related to colleen Mooney from flushing?

Brilliant video MOONEY 🇬🇧👌👍
Thanks Paul!!
Russell Simmons and his brother Run from Run DMC grew up in Hollis, Queens, not Jamaica Estates. Russell was born in Jamaica, Queens, but they left for Hollis as little kids. They grew up in Hollis at a time when Hollis was starting to get rough. So they grew up seeing bad things going down in Hollis.
I’m always open to be corrected thanks for letting me know
@@MOONEYDashCam they moved to Jamaica Estates after they became Well established. Run of Run DMC is a Reverend now, and his house was used for the movie Belly. DMX was in his house.
Hollis is a section of Jamaica Queens which takes up the entire Southeast Queens. ( Hollis , Queens Village, Cambria Heights, Laurelton, South Jamaica, Springfield Gardens, Bricktown, Rosedale are all part of Jamaica, Queens in New York City.
Thank u for these wonderful videos
Pom Wonderful, Rolls Royce within...and?

Not that i care, you didn't really show us the house.
It's very very good and excellent the video 🎉📽️👍🎬
I am sure someone else said it, but Run DMC are from Hollis. Famously from Hollis. They may have bought homes in Jamaica Estates after making some money, but they didn’t grow up there.
Another great video !
👍
Excellent video as always. It sounds like you have the familiar 4.6 exhaust manifold leak...so do l.
People have to understand this neighborhood is a big difference from the cluttered homes in Hollis and the hustle and bustle on Hillside Avenue which is a transportation hub for all trains and busses running to Long Island. The peace in the Estates is very apparent. How many people did you see in this video? Hardly any because that's the kind of neighborhood it is.
Well said. My family lives in Jamaica Estates and we value how quiet and peaceful it can be. If there’s ever trouble that arises in our neighborhood 99% of the time it’s lowlifes from below Hillside. It’s a real shame that Hillside is not nice like Union turnpike but it is what it is.
Hillside Avenue is not a transportation hub for busses going to Long Island.
I grew up in Jamaica Estates, and I remember as a kid riding my bicycle up and down the same streets you show in this video. But this is bittersweet for me, as over the last several years a growing number of the gracious colonial and Tudor-style houses, both large and small, have been replaced by tacky McMansions. Their styling is cheap- and gaudy-looking and, as is typical for McMansions, the are oversized. And the trend is ongoing. What a shame!
That house with the statues that you pointed out at 1:60 was not at all the kind of house that existed when I was growing up. It's a shame how you now see rows of nice, older homes interrupted by McMansions.
Later owners of the house I grew up in destroyed the sizeable Japanese garden that was in the backyard (with a pond, stream, waterfall, and a little stone bridge), which had been left over from an older estate. All that was buried in dirt, and the trees were all cut down, including a big centuries-old oak tree.
WOW
I grew up in queens village not far from Jamaica esteates my father used to bring us every year to see all the Christmas lights on the big mansions.
@@eileenpiazza1604 wow i would of loved to see that
@@eileenpiazza1604 That's a nice memory. But my favorite time was always the spring, when the azalea bushes were blooming. My mother told me that she was once listening to the traffic report on the radio when the reporter observing the traffic from the helicopter mentioned that he was just then flying over Jamaica Estates, and that the azalea bushes looked really beautiful. It was something unique to the neighborhood. I don't know if they're still there now.
The last bit about the pond and waterfall sounds like my boys house on Midland. He had a setup like that in his yard.
Thank you for sharing.
Nice video bro! I live 2 blocks away.
2:40..... I could be absolutely wrong (but I don’t think I am) hillside Avenue and Union Turnpike don’t cross. They are separated by the Grand Central Parkway
They run parallel but don't cross. Take midland parkway from Hillside about 4 minute drive to UnionTpke.
The Trump Home...I grew up in Trump village as a kid in Coney island never seen his House though! 👍
My Nursery school was on Midland Pkwy. I grew up on the other side of the Turnpike, the poorer side. LOL. Actually middle class area.... 5 blocks from St Johns University. You also passed by the notorious Donald Manes' house on Chevy Chase.
My nursery school was in Cunningham Park... around 1981/82. I miss those times. I also use to go to St. John's as a child for the special programs they offered.
I legit live a close to Jamaica Estates so yeah neet More so on the border of hillside and estates.

Run actually brought a house there after he got rich. They still own the house today. I live in the apartments down the block he referenced on hillside Ave. In the summer I would see run drive out the estates in his blue Bently he would always wave to anyone who noticed him. A real nice guy.
@@mykedynomite185th and Hillside, here almost 30 years strong. Take Dalny Road straight up and you reach the Catholic school i went to as a kid, Immaculate Conception now renamed Immaculate Academy, on the corner of Trumps block.

Do not forget that the President was out of there way before Jamaica Queens went to hell. He went to a High School,an Army run Prep one in Cornmall New York in Orange County N.Y. 4 miles north of West Point in Aug.1959.I went to a summer training program there in 62. very nice, he grew up rich, it's great
Until I read about him just a few years back, I had no idea Trump was from here... For some reason, I always thought he had sprung from upriver Hyde Park, where FDR had come from! I hadn't been in the Estates since I was a kid, and that was with my father, visiting the home of some high-end muck (can't remember the name) he knew back in the day...
Stuntman Jr, you should do a Celebrity Homes edition where you show where famous people lived before and where they live now. Just a thought. Like if you want to see this also.
That's like the getto now in day's , Good come up. MR PRESIDENT.
I go to St. John’s... Jamaica estates I believe is the best neighborhood in the city
Zaki Sadiqi - I actually prefer Malba, since it’s right on the shore. Mooney did a video on this neighborhood as well.
House of Savoy - Yeah, I grew up in Whitestone on Utopia Pkwy & 14th Rd. Right opposite exit from Belt Parkway. Le Harve was somewhat NE of our house. I loved growing up there, but I finally moved to Arizona to get away from all the craziness! 😂
Bayside is better

Love all the videos interesting and a great ride around NYC burbs, but I have to say 2 things- statues at home tacky and now I know why in my city in Pennsylvania has crap for drivers and complete double Parker’s or walkers that go so slow across the Dag street. They come from NYC and Jersey
I used to live right down the road from there in the 50’s and 60’s. Very creepy neighborhood.
