The spring mechanism is embedded inside the mic arm and it has a very silent operation.
It doesn't crackle like the budget mic stands.

Get the Audio Array AA-17, that one is by far the best stand I have tested on the channel.
Cable management and build is very premium. Elgato makes the same stand and it costs 15k.
