I'm glad there is someone out there who puts history into 1 video.
It’s usually all over the place with people
It's not history, if anything it's closest to theology
@@tantrumtv4270Greek mythology is part of greeces history as it was there culture
@@Hadybiggs yes, but the acts themselves aren’t history
@5:42 Medusa was SA by Poseidon, and never deserved to be treated so terribly. Love all of your videos 😍
It was more than just SA it was Rword, but both are absolutely vile acts
@@megan9403The term sexual assault refers to sexual contact or behavior that occurs without explicit consent of the victim. She was sexually assaulted.
He, first, I am always down for a 20 minute run down of an obscure god regardless of the pantheon. But I wanted to say thank you for your description of the story of before we were split in two. Most stories insist that each person was male and female. I've never seen anyone talk about how some were both male or both female. It may seem like a small thing, but its an inclusion that means something to a lot of us.
It had me thinking that as a society, we're finally catching up to where the Greeks were two and a half millennia ago.
I've said this before... You absolutely Nailed the short content.
Out of all my favorite creators who recently started making shorts, I would say you are in the Top Three 😁😎🤠
Wow, this put a big ole smile on my face! Thank you!
It’s so funny. When you play God of War. The violence is completely accurate when you’re so desensitized to the Disney films or just fairytales in general.
I swear they should make a show or anime or something with the stories of the Greek gods beef with eachother 😂😂 I think it would take off. There’s so much lore there
I sorta see Medusa’s mishap as a curse because what about the people who want to cure her? What would happen to them when they approach her?
I love your videos bro😂😂❤❤❤
that soul mate one will frustrate sooooooo many people.
The worst part about Hades and Persephone (in my book) is that the main villain of that story wasn't even Hades, it was Zeus do to the fact that it was his advice (and approval) that convinced Hades kidnapping would be just fine.
Problematic starts aside, the rest of the mythology about Hades and Persephone as a pair has them be incredibly loyal to one another, to the point that they fave some pretty horrible fates to anyone trying to make one of their proverbial eyes drift away from one another.
Medusa is my favorite story of Greek mythology.
This is the the most early I've been to a video.
Same
Same
I appreciate both the effort and the presentation. Your videos are the best man so thanks for all you do and how you do it!
First!
I LOVE the backstory to soulmates i never knew that and ots awesome how much acceptence was there.😊
Have you ever put out a video about Oedipus from Greek mythos?
I am loving your channel so much ❤️
Love your video Jon Solo and keep up the great work
thanks Eddie!
Love these videos! Mythology Is realy intresting!
I’m early. Nice! Great video Jon! I throughly enjoyed watching this and the knowledge I gained from it.
This was awesome thanks so much
Early! Love your mythological videos!
Great video, as usual! Intrigued by the peaches tease....we talking Immortality Vibes? Chinese mythologies??
I wonder if you're ever going to do an explanation of Through the Looking Glass by Lewis Carroll. Tweedledee and Tweedledum appear in there (which has one of the darkest moments in a book meant for children ever involving dreaming) and The Garden of Living Flowers, in which Alice acts decidedly different around the flowers.
Love the short foam long form format. Please more.
Thanks very cool Jon 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
2:32 There were volunteers? Short number 3 was interesting and beautiful.
I have exams and can't watch this right now and when I got the notification I was so mad that I couldn't watch it, anyways they end tomorrow and then I can watch guilt free 😭😭
Is the next video going to be about Momotaro? That would be awesome!
So many interesting facts!
I have been enjoying your content for a while now, and I have finally thought of a messed up origins you could do.
Do The Messed Up Origin of Jon Solo the CZcams god of Mythology and Folklore that would be awesome 😎😎😎😎😎👍
Ha! This is long overdue tbh, I just feel weird talking about myself. It would be a real fun experiment though.
I like this format.
A petition should be made to never use hades as a villain for what other gods did!!!
I won't be shocked if I'm wrong but I'll go with James and the Giant Peach for the next one
👀
😂 I tried reading Greek mythology, once, but I could not pronounce many of the names of their gods. I did try 😂
I ways prefer the longer videos anyways. This was a fun refresh😊
I know this isn’t really relevant to the video but I was wonder if you can do La Lechuza from Mexican folklore pls but if you don’t know what that is they are witches that take the form a owl more specifically barn owls and I was wondering if you can go more in depth this them pls
Jon Solo,
I got a good one for you;
What is the oldest known folklore tale of a “Fairy”? Any kind. What is the oldest tale? And how does the tale go?
interesting to know about all the Greek myths.
The soulmate thing is the most complicated thing I ever heard and I still can’t get it madusa you are pretty good better than a history teacher 👩🏫 lol 😆
The medusa story you tell is the Roman version. In the original Greek, she was always a Gorgon, she just wasn't immortal.
At the end, Kratos killed them all 😜. Thank you for your videos man, Im learning a lot.
I love your Chanel
Oh that's COOL!!!!!!!
9:56 a darker Greek version of valkyries
I am too old for shoets. Cant even do short stories (dozen novels is a decent story). But this is fun! Thanks
Like your drawing of book room.
Did you do it or someone else do it?
Thanks! It was made by an artist named Markus Stadlober :)
Totally Enjoyable👁
If there's a messed up origin of Charon, I hope the thumbnail will show the Animaniacs version of him.
big fan!
Bro can you finally do an Anubis video? I don't understand how you haven't yet 🙃 would much prefer that over James and the giant Peach...
Different strokes for different folks. Keep an eye out in August my friend.
@@JonSolo Don't get me wrong, I love all your content bro! I've just been craving that Anubis drop 🤣
I hope is a timeline from beginning to end of the Greek mythological for some reason I can’t find any
I've read, Chiron, was poisoned by Hercules, (by accident or on purpose) and traded his immortality to free Prometheus.
But, I only read it because you peaked my interest! This channel be learnin people.
The end of the video hints at peaches I'm guessing James and the giant peach next
I love the new profile picture John
Amazing , .. but can we have the 20 min video too ? 😁🙏
😂 yes, of course!
Messed up Origins of Gilgamesh when?
9:42 where thanos gets his name from
Are you planning to cover Nyx?
For first video. He should’ve just tossed the bestest boy a ball
I don't usually comment on videos and I apologise for commenting something completely unrelated, but I need to take advantage of this opportunity. I have been trying to find a folk tale for around two weeks which I could have sworn you have covered but I have found nothing.
In the tale, a knight or hero on a journey in the woods was told of a monster in it who had killed anyone who came near it. I believe the creature had some sort of special power which made it nearly impossible to kill. The knight encountered it and managed to kill it. After it is killed, the knight discovers that it was the parent of a small family of child creatures who then revealed themselves to mourn the death of the monster. The knight, horrified by what he had done left. A witch, who I think might have been the person who tricked the knight, then went to the place where the family of creatures was, and ate them.
I thought this was in your Baba Yaga video, but it was not. Did you have another Baba Yaga that was demonetized or taken down, as I remember the thumbnail for a Baba Yaga video you being a mildly suggestive picture of the witch?
Again I apologise for commenting something unrelated to the video.
Woodland Critter Christmas?
@@traverharvey5049 No, sorry, that isn't it.
No apology necessary! That sounds like a very interesting folktale. i don't remember coming across that one in any of my research tbh but if I ever do I'll come back to this comment section and let you know!
"Peachy"? A certain little fellow from Japan, perhaps?
I have a strange question for you Jon Solo.....
Do you play the game - hill climb racing 2 on your phone by chance?
One of the thousands of players I've raced against has the same name. Small chance but you never know.
Will we get a Melinoe video when Hades 2 comes out?
100% yes
@@JonSolo i personally think that all the myths involving Zeus and Persephone having Hades' kids is due to
1) the different Hades names like "Zeus of the Underworld" and mortals think they meant Zeus himself
2) maybe a misjudgement of character. Like Persephone and the snake was Hades getting kinky with his wife but mortals thought it was out of line for the god so they think it was Zeus who did the deed
Sooo... next up is Momotaro, I guess?
I remember hearing that story on the radio as a kid! I completely forgot about it, for all these years, until I stumbled upon your comment.
Sorry to say I've never heard of Momotaro but you've got me intrigued!
NOW THIS IS SHORT FORM CONTENT
I think it’s about James and the gaint peach
I feel sorry for the sympathetic version of Medusa.
Had her stared at the Abyss....but yet he see nothing wrong with him Cuckfolding her so many times.....
11:23 like heracles😊
Woootttt
Just commenting for the algorithm 🤍🖤
Me lieing here like a blob from wall e.
The story of how Poseidon raped Medusa isn't an actual greek myth, it was essentially propaganda made up by some guy who hated the greek gods
So me a bi is a descendant from?
Interesting stories
When are you goina break into one of the worlds biggest mythologies? Like Christianity or Catholicism?
I'm allergic to Jesus so it might be a while
Same ahaha it would be interesting to see it broken down and see how many mythologies it has assimilated into its own culture and beliefs.
@@JonSoloot the pic of him breaking Satan’s ankles tho
😂
My bellybutton is a sign of failure
You changed your profile pic and I thought someone stole your video lol
6:17 what if another woman approached her?
One of the more messed up Greek myths I'm aware of is that of Hermparaditus. Hermaphraditus was the son of Hermes and Aphrodite, so he was basically the prettiest Pretty Boi that ever Pretty Boied and was so divinely attractive that men and women would regularly declare their love for him openly; he actually found this almost as amusing as it was an inconvenience. But things took a turn for the worse with one of his stalkers, the River Nymph Selkirka; I won't say what it was she did, mostly because that might trigger some people, but what she did do resulted in something immensely traumatic.
Hopefully, Jon will get around to Hermaphraditus before the end of the year, especially since he seems to be one of the obscure figures in Greek mythology in our modern day, and the story of Hermaphraditus might just have some cautionary tale elements to it as well.
Heracles
What is a "Sinius"?
sinews* are tendons
WooHoo 153rd to like....I win.
I liked that you remixed your shorts into one video top notch
Cool vid, but don't insult your audience. Not all of us are TikTokers and none of us like to be referred to as WALL-E blobs 😂
Aristophanes neither wrote nor said any of that. It’s written by Plato in Symposium as a way to mock Aristophanes. Stop getting your info off Wikipedia and pick up a book.
Your dueche comments about Christianity made me unsubscribe. ... it's too bad to because your content was good.
“goodest” doggo tangent: A true crime on CZcamsr @BrookeMcKenna posted a video about the 4 kids that were lost in the Colombian rainforest… she mentioned the hero dog that had found the kids early on and stayed with them for a few days, but he disappeared and the searchers have no idea where the dog is… still searching, I believe. ANYWHO, I commented how that dog was “the goodest boy“ only to get attacked by a very irrational woman for using such improper English. I tried to explain that it’s a joke thing that people say (I was very polite) but she was NOT having it, and just kept coming at me LOL… If you want to find that video & feel like throwing some agreement my way in the comments, it would be appreciate! Lmao 🤣
I thought Medusa was born immortal, i heard in the video after Athena cursed her, she lived 1000 years turning people to stone, thats the 1st time I herd this version, Medusa turned immortal after her decapitation I assume, bc her head still turned people to stone.
Madusas story is so messed up 😞
