    Contradictory information. First says thawing not necessary. Then says to thaw prior to feeding. Very confusing.

      Hi Karen, sorry for the confusion. We offer two types of bones: 1) recreational bones that do not need to be thawed prior to feeding @ 0:11 and 2) raw meaty bones that do require thawing prior to feeding @ 1:06 . If you have additional questions, please contact our customer service team at 866.566.4652.

    Any one here have a small dog ( under 5 pounds)? Was curious if these were ok for small dogs as well? Or any tips for me?...obviously I’m always worried of something getting stuck in his throat
    Or what do you recommend (raw meaty vs recreational) thank you for your help!!

      You'll want to start with an appropriately sized bone for your pet. A small beef marrow rec bone or a chicken neck raw meaty bone may be appropriate. Do keep in mind that bones may not be appropriate for all dogs. Please be sure to monitor you pet when feeding any raw meaty or recreational bone. Call us at 866.566.4652 if you have any further product questions.

    1:50 You mention holding the bone as a way to ensure they dont swallow it whole, but it didnt work in the vid because the dog swallowed it whole as soon as it was let go ... I didnt see or hear any bone crunching.
    IMO a better tactic is leave the meaty bones uncut in large pieces that are too big to swallow as is (for example, refrain from separating a chicken leg quarter into a thigh and a drum - doing so FORCES them to crunch the bone in order to detach pieces small enough to swallow).

      Thanks for your comments regarding our raw meaty bones. This dog was crunching the bone as it was being held. The live sound was not part of this video to allow for the voice-over audio. We always recommend appropriately sized bones for pets and do not recommend cutting bones. This helps to prevent swallowing a bone whole and reduces the risk of choking hazards. Keep in mind that bones may not be suitable for all pets. Pets should always be monitored by an adult when feeding any bones. Are these bones human grade if cooked? Does the butchery process and packaging differ from that of whats sold for humans?

    • @primalpetfoods
      @primalpetfoods  Před 4 lety

      We source human-grade recreational and raw meaty bones. Our bone products are labeled, packaged and sold as pet food supplements. Our bones are not intended to be cooked as this can cause bones to become soft or brittle and splinter. We do not recommend cooking any of our recreational or raw meaty bones. Our raw bones are not for human food.

      @@primalpetfoods So is it safe for humans to eat them if they are cooked?

    • @primalpetfoods

      @@jerrystillfield720 Since we make pet food that is manufactured, labeled, and packaged as pet food, I'm unable to make a recommendation that would suggest human consumption is ok regardless of being cooked or not. All of our products are intended for pet consumption only.

      Thanks for getting them to totally dodge that question cause you make a great point. I’ll just continue feeding my pup human grade bones lmao. So much cheaper anyways. You know how much I paid for my HUMAN GRADE turkey/lamb/chicken necks AT THE GROCERY STORE? Like $1.14 lol. Saw the same amount in weight at a local feed store of primal bones that were $7-10. What a rip off.

    Cool dog! what kind and how old is he/she? Can it handle whole raw chicken
    (quarter/drumstick/wings etc.) as well?? It would be cool to see a full
    raw feeding video of that if possible, keep it up! ;)
